I think I might have Snow White sign her name on her dress on the cover art. I might take the slip cover off and have her sign her name on the artwork under the slip cover. I might do the same with both the Blu-ray and Dvd that is coming out in October. During my last birthday trip I had Snow White sign my old Dvd edtion of Snow White. I love having the characters sign their Dvds and Blu-rays :)

Doesn't matter. Sounds like something I should've done on my last trip to Disneyland!

Yeah, the jusic sounds familiar. I heard a similar theme from the trailer for Spirit: Stallion of the Cimeron on the Shrek DVD.

The music on that trailer made me excited to see Snow White, and I really didn't think much of it the first time...although that was on my inital viewing of the Platinum edition which was what almost 8 years ago?

I never really thought of SW as my favorite, either, but it was engaging, nonetheless.

Can somebody tell me what's the Disney BD Live thing? I know US already have it, and the rest of the word will get it with Snow White, so what's your feedback?

BD-Live is the network that studios put up, so one with a capable blu-ray player and select titles can connect to a studio specific BD-Live network and participate in organized activities. AKA, you can interact with a lot of other people who have the same movie via the movie chat, trivia challenges, and other things. That's on Disney's network. Warner's network is best IMO, because it has the most worthwhile content for someone who doesn't have friends who have a Blu-ray player. There, you can record your own pip commentary, watch more extra videos, trailers, and such.

Re: Disney DVD Poster Covers

Post by Disney Duster »

Thanks 271286, and someone said that the first posters actually were more intented for adults. It said so on the DVD poster gallery! Well, I still think it was previewing the movie (a teaser poster) combined with appealing to adults, because I think adults can like seeing character's faces, and thus emotions, even happy or blissful ones, too!

Vermin Friends, often Disney actually had the character's heads, and maybe a little neck and choulders, fade into the background, or just not continue, not show the rest of their bodies. This is why the heads are floating. Because they are just heads, no rest of the body. Pinocchio's not really a floating head on his Platinum. Neither are Cinderella or the Prince on their last Platinum. See?

Love's First Kiss is how it's supposed to be, and look, no one's sure what "true love" means. When people say the "love" someone, they say it in a way so that you know if they mean family/friend or romantically. "True love" is when you know that you love someone romantically, simply that, or possibly it is love you know will last forever. But it's subjective, hard to pin down, just like magic, just like fairy tales. But back when fairy tales were made, women, and men, and usually those high up, esepcially royalty, had to marry people they didn't love, or even know. But they probably had to act like they loved each other, or had to try to love each other. So "true love" could also have been termed to differentiate real love that you marry someone for, rather than trying to love someone you were arranged to marry.

Maleficent mistakenly calling "True Love's Kiss" "Love's First Kiss" could have been her saying love is generic, after all she says Phillip is only fulfilling a fairy tale and apparently fairy tales have been present before she gives her speech, possibly meaning she thinks them generic. Or maybe she means all true love is the same, or Disney themselves is saying the kiss of true love would be exactly like a first kiss anyway. Or maybe it just means that Phillip is indeed also kissing Aurora for the first time, so Maleficent's just stating fact. Actually, Maleficent wouldn't care what the exact magical kiss type is anyway, she hates love...right?

Chernabog, sometimes people like mystery. We don't know everything about the Beast either. He's meant to be mysterious. We don't even know certain things about Aladdin. Love is mysterious, and he is like this mysterious figure, that maybe came to Snow White because of fate and the mystery of finding your love, he found her again almost magically, and he does have a magical kiss, or maybe he appeared because Snow White wished at the well...

Oh yea, to you and to Goliath, I would say that the prince is very important, he is after all important to the main character the film is about, Snow White, in fact, I'd even say more he's more important (to the film, or more probably just to Snow White) than the dwarfs. She's wishing for love, possibly to even solve her unhappiness and sad situation. A prince comes and makes her very happy, she's picking flowers singing about him, but then she must run away from a really bad problem: someone wants her dead. The dwarfs help her out, but she still sings to them about what she really wants, her prince, and when the witch asks her what to wish for, Snow White, arguably heart-breakingingly, wishes for the prince, a nice castle, and happily ever after. I really love the part where she says, 'Well, there is someone..." and almost kinda winces because she didn't want to say it, reveal this love so personal and close to her heart, to this strange, ominous, frightening figure.

Talk about subtletey and depth to a character...of course, that's my reading of it.

You know, the dwarfs do a lot for Snow White, but ultimately it is the prince who saves her and gives her what she wants.

Phillip-Fan...what's this about Prince Charming and a deer? I thought he was chasing a fox, and it looked like he wanted to hunt him, but they were playing, he and the fox were actually friends. I love this idea because it means he's kind to and friends with animals like Cinderella. Was this from "The Cinderella that Almost Was" or something else? How close was it to being in the final film? Like, where during the film's development...?
