That reminds me ... that must be the first time I've seen Luke so openly panning a movie. I don't ever recall him calling a film "horrid", even films he really disliked. It must be a really bad film for him to react that way.

Sideways note: I recently caught A Goofy Movie on Disney Channel, and it's such a charming, sweet little film! Luke certainly evaluated it fairly in his review. I found the animation to be very impressive. True, it isn't quite WDAS quality, but the difference is at times difficult to spot. Yes, it's that good.

Luke, do you feel the way I felt about the animation? It had a strange warmth - the type I usually associate with Feature Animation. Perhaps it was due to the very good use of squash and stretch? In the end, I'm not surprised the film looked so good. According to the credits, it was partially animated in Paris (didn't that later become part of WDAS?), Australia (the Aussie studio has produced good work) and even Walt Disney Feature Animation Burbank! There was another studio mentioned. I think it was Phoenix Animation, Canada. I guess animation to Phoenix was outsourced, then?

Read his review for The Boatniks. It's one of my favorites (reviews, not movies) as he continually rips into the film, and his Closing Thoughts start off with the best sentence ever to describe the train wreck: "The Boatniks is a worthy contender for the title of Worst Disney Movie Ever Made."

And Ames, I'm sorry I ruined the ending for Harry/Sally! The ending is a major bone of contention for me, and I take any chance I get to rip into it. I hope it doesn't keep you from watching the movie, though! Just stop it right after the lines "And I'm gonna be 40!" "When?" "Someday..." "In 8 years!". ;)

It's alright...I have such a bad memory that, by the time I actually rent it, I'll have forgotten all about the ending that you ruined for me.

I'm reading the "Hannah Montana: One in a Million" review right now. I just wanted to mention that this is wrong:
One in a Million marks the fourth DVD compilation for "Hannah Montana." The four episodes here share no connections or overriding theme other than that they were among the last episodes debuted in 2007.
The connection is that all the episodes have celebrity guest stars in them (Heather Locklear, the Jonas Brothers, Vicki Lawrence & Dolly Parton, and Selena Gomez). I believe that this connection was also mentioned on Disney Channel's "Super Short Report" (is that what it's called?).

Just finished reading The Aristocat's Special Edition DVD review. Great job by the way. I'm glad to hear that it is a step up from the Gold Collection, even if that step is very small. I really started collection DVD's when the platinum edition of "Aladdin" was released, I back tracked a little an got the all Platinum Editions before that, as well as the Sleeping Beauty: Special Edition. Aside from those, and every release of a DAC since then, I don't have any other Disney films.

I happily purchased The Aristocats on Tuesday and was delighted to finally add it to my collection. I have not yet had the time to give it another viewing (I have actually only seen it once), but I did watch some of the bonus features. I'd have to say, this is one of the better of the skimpy single disc releases we have seen lately.

I was really surprised to hear that this film was going to receive a 2-Disc special edition, so I wasn't really all that surprised when the idea was inevitably nixed. Though I don't think this film really merits a double disc release, especially if films like "Dumbo" haven't even earned one, it is a little bit disappointing to have Disney dangle the idea in front of our faces and then quickly take it away.

Anyway, I thought the review was great and it has me really excited to pop in my DVD and give it another once over.

I enjoyed reading the review, but I'm still unsure if the SE is really an upgrade over the GC disc. My main question is the aspect ratio. Which one is really the intended ratio?

I just finished reading the latest batch of reviews/interviews.

Amy, you did a fantastic job interviewing Lisa Davis. You asked some really great questions, and your interview was informative and entertaining. Your Mitchel Musso interview was great too.

Aaron, great job on the "Across the Universe" review. I'll have to give this one a rent sometime soon.

Christopher, great job on the "Margot at the Wedding" review.

Kelvin, while "My Friends Tigger & Pooh: Friendly Tails" and "Little Einsteins: Race for Space" don't appeal to me, your reviews are appealing.

Luke, you have once again provided stellar reviews for: "101 Dalmatians: Platinum Edition", "The Darjeeling Limited", "The Easter Bunny is Comin' to Town: Deluxe Edition", "Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Academy Awards Animation Collection", "The Smurfs: Season One, Volume One", and all the others you have written this year. I noticed the "Smurfs" review didn't have any episodes starred as the standout 10. Did none of the episodes standout for you or was this an oversight?

I look forward to reading more reviews/interviews from you all. Keep up the good work everyone!

Thanks for the great feedback, CJ! I'm very pleased you took the time to read and comment upon our recent articles.

With "Smurfs", it's not so much that none stood out as all stood out. Short of one or two episodes that didn't quite hold me as much, I enjoyed all of them to similar degrees. Plus I couldn't think of an appropriate number to star: five seemed too few, ten would be more than half. It also seemed unfair to treat the 23-minute episodes and 12-minute episodes the same way, since the varying time really makes a difference in how much can be achieved. For all these reasons, selecting and starring just didn't feel right on this one. But don't worry, I still believe in the practice and will continue to do it where I feel it's appropriate. I'm glad that you noticed.

Amy, I just wanted to let you know that you did a great job with your interviews. I read both of the interviews with Lisa Davis and Alice Davis. I read both interviews and found them very interesting. I thought you asked a lot of great questions - you're really doing a great job!

Excellent explanation, Luke, thanks for the quick response. I'm glad the starring will continue when needed.

I just finished reading the "Mrs. Doubtfire" review, it was another fantastic read, Luke.

Amy, I enjoyed your Alice Davis interview.

Christopher, I'm looking forward to reading the rest of your "101 Dalmatians" press junket article.

Terrible Enchanted review Luke.

It started out decent, but went way too easy on the film and was apologetic to the film's numerous and gigantic misfires.

I would've expected better and smarter than the average film critic from you Luke. This is in no way Disney's best 2007 film. It's their worst of 2007, no question, and perhaps their worst of the 21st century and one of Disney's worst films in a very long time(even several direct-to-videos blow away Enchanted). Even some of Disney's biggest failures can at least claim a remote sliver of originality, something this film can't even come close to claiming.
