Yes, great episode all around. Love the actress for young Cora, loved Rumple's convo with Belle, loved Cora's death scene. I'm surprised this happened already, since they have almost 2 months before the finale. I'm glad, regardless, I feel like they need everything to settle down on this show already.

Now Regina has a real reason to hate Snow White!
Also, how can Snow White's mother who had been portrayed as such a kind and loving person be such an awful brat when she was younger? People don't change that radically for no apparent reason. It's just sloppy characterization on the writers' part.
While expected, I'm disappointed Cora's dead. She was such an interesting character. It would have been so cool if she became the Dark One or at least have her stay on the show longer.
It looks like Baelfire has made amends with Rumpelstiltskin. Will he ever learn that he killed his mother? He may be able to forgive him for abandoning him but how can he forgive something like that?

Great episode last night.
There is less than two months left. I think that there are only four or five new episodes left for this season. Last night's show could have been a great cliffhanger episode, but I'm sure they have something else planned for us in the coming weeks.

Yes, GREAT great great episode and like for Snow White, once again great casting for a younger version of a character, for Cora!
And just so you know it's spelled Cora
And we may still see her around. I don't think death can always keep people away for good on this show
Omg so true lol!Sotiris wrote:Now Regina has a real reason to hate Snow White!
When you said how was Snow White's mother such an awful brat, did you mean Snow White? I disagree that she has sloppy characterization. Children are brats when they're kids and they do change and the only thing close to awful I remember Snow doing was that spat about her crown, but we see they she can't kill anyone and her mother taught her kindness and it fits. Yes there is room for seeing how her child self becomes her adult self but even her adult self isn't that good.Sotiris wrote:Also how can Snow White's mother who had been portrayed as such a kind and loving person be such an awful brat when she was younger? What was wrong with her adult self? Snow White's mother seemed like a very good person (and portrayed well) in the episode before last.Disney Duster wrote:Yes there is room for seeing how her child self becomes her adult self but even her adult self isn't that good.

No, I mean Snow White's mother, Eva. She was the princess who tripped Cora in the last episode.Disney Duster wrote:When you said how was Snow White's mother such an awful brat, did you mean Snow White?
I disagree. First, not all children are brats. Second, studies have shown by the age of 3-5, a child's personality is fully developed. Although changes can still occur throughout one's life depending on various factors, profound changes affecting the core of one's character are highly unlikely to ever take place.Disney Duster wrote:Children are brats when they're kids and they do change.
I got my Coras mixed up! I'm just used to spelling it that way because of the show The Legend of Korra.Disney Duster wrote:And just so you know it's spelled Cora.

I heavily disagree with this. While I agree that a person’s core personality doesn’t change, the decisions they will make and their choices between right and wrong are not set in stone at any age. I don't see Snow White's mother as being so different earlier v. later that maturation/being taught a lesson (by Cora, no doubt) couldn't account for it.Sotiris wrote: I disagree. I'll agree with this IF they show that something like that actually happened. Because the difference in her portrayal is quite jarring from the episodes shown thus far.Disney's Divinity wrote: I don't see Snow White's mother as being so different earlier v. later that maturation/being taught a lesson (by Cora, no doubt) couldn't account for it.

Those aren’t the same thing to me. You believe that someone who is cruel at age 16-20 will almost always be cruel at age 30-40, unless something major happens to change them. I think the simple act of aging/living causes everyone to change, for better or worse. That doesn't mean a person's core personality isn't the same or a huge event had to have occurred just because they aren't mean/cruel/evil anymore.Sotiris wrote:Sotiris wrote:Although changes can still occur throughout one's life depending on various factors.Disney's Divinity wrote:The decisions they will make and their choices between right and wrong are not set in stone at any age.

Yes, because in this case cruelty is a major character trait that doesn't change that easily.Disney's Divinity wrote:You believe that someone who is cruel at age 16-20 will almost always be cruel at age 30-40, unless something major happens to change them.
If all other parameters in their life remain constant, a person doesn't change simply because of the passing of time.Disney's Divinity wrote:I think the simple act of aging/living causes everyone to change, for better or worse.

Well she was down on true love and marriage, saying she believed it was only for power (before James changed her mind), and...okay you got me I can't remember any other times she wasn't that good except for this candle incident which I would even consider doing myself.Disney's Divinity wrote:What was wrong with her adult self? Oh. I didn't catch that. Well, you can't say it was bad characterization when there's probably some inbetween characterization that happened between those ages. I know I've heard of old people changing drastically. There's even a thread about how much people have changed since they joined here and I think I've become both a worse person and a better person on here all in my late 20's.Sotiris wrote:No, I mean Snow White's mother, Eva. Re: Once Upon a Time (ABC TV series)
I just got done watching Once Upon a Time
It seems we now know who the guy taking the videos and staying in town really is and his true motive for staying in town. I thought this episode was great. It will be interesting to see if Snow can stop her heart from turning black. Also It seems Neal's fiancée is set to bring down the secret of StoryBrooke as well. Also I'm glad we're going to see August again and it appears he's fully wooden.

I liked the Tron reference on the park bench ad in the flashback. The thing about the future and the Encom logo.

Re: Once Upon a Time (ABC TV series)
^ Good catch.
I thought tonight was another great episode.
I guess I just like the Regina-centric episodes best. I'm still thinking the season is running towards all the characters returning to the fairy tale world, with the magic beans. I figured this guy would try to let the Real World know about magic, and it seems more likely now. I still want to know who he was talking to on the phone.
I'm actually surprised about the Snow White part of the episode, with her being tainted by a touch of darkness. I don't know where they're going to go with that character. Maybe "True Love's Kiss" or something will return her heart to normal? Glad to see August again (finally).

Re: Once Upon a Time (ABC TV series)
Yea I know finally August again! Yes it was another great episode but when will Regina show anything of the person she used to be, she doesn't have her mother turning her evil anymore! I think Snow White can get her heart back to normal by just remaining kind. She'll probably do some good deed or something that fixes her heart. What I was really surprised by was that she came to Regina's door to get killed when she has, well, a husband, a duaghter, and a grandson who would mourn her!
And hey, in the episode before this, how did Rumplestiltskin know the future of Snow White (remember he made that joke about irony when Cora says for a wedding "you have to be snow white") and yet not know all the other things in the future like Cora turning on him and having Regina who becomes involved with Snow White, et cetera?

Aren't they doing a spin off with Jefferson aka The Mad Hatter? If so, perhaps we will see Cora resurface in that series and maybe that's why they killed her off, so she could star in this spin off series as The Queen of Hearts without scheduling conflicts.
I brought this up to Escapay on facebook and he said it's a sound theory

The trailers for season 2 are finally popping up on Chanel 5, but with no official date yet ! Literally was SO beyond excited to finally see them; especially after what I accidentally read about Snow. The anticipation ....
People again have also been getting very excited for it on twitter too, which is always good to see

Oh, I hadn't thought about it. Very likely. I still can't imagine what that show is going to be about, tbh.disneyboy wrote:Aren't they doing a spin off with Jefferson aka The Mad Hatter?
