The Ultimate Disney DVD/Blu-ray
I looked over the posts that Escapay posted, and maybe its just because that the rules of plagiarism have been so drilled into my head, but I found a something that stood out for me.
1. Even though BDF gave Escapay credit on his post (which usually makes it ok) he used the word I, which basically insinuates that it is now his, and no matter how much you change the original it is still plagiarism. The best thing that could have been done would have if BDF said something along the lines of "Escapay's is good, but this is how I would improve......"
Anywho, I don't know if it is just this thread, or if there are others, I think we should have some sort of plagiarism guide.

It's quite simple: If someone wrote something, don't take that and call it your own, no matter how much or how little tweaking or "this is based off of such-and-such" you do to modify it.Coolmanio wrote:Anywho, I don't know if it is just this thread, or if there are others, I think we should have some sort of plagiarism guide.
Exactly. If traces of the original can still be found, no matter how large or how small, it's still plagiarism if it goes uncredited. And a brief blanket statement of "Credit to such-and-such" at the beginning doesn't cut it.Coolmanio wrote:he used the word I, which basically insinuates that it is now his, and no matter how much you change the original it is still plagiarism.
He didn't even improve it. He took my words and re-worded things just to make it seem like it was his. Then when he was called out on it he complained that nobody told him what to do and what not to do. Hence all the stupid drama.Coolmanio wrote:The best thing that could have been done would have if BDF said something along the lines of "Escapay's is good, but this is how I would improve......"

Love it! Now THAT's a Wreck-It Ralph release.
FYI, I just noticed you list the aspect ratio as 1.85:1. The film's OAR is 2.40:1.

Re: The Ultimate Disney DVD/Blu-ray
My perfect Disney release would be a Mary Poppins 50th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray/DVD Combo Pack. It would have to be identical to the excellent Blu-ray release that The Sound of Music had in 2010, complete with a new digital restoration, all the DVD features (including the one about the Broadway musical) and a nice packaging (that also means disc art for both the Blu-ray and the DVD). And as a treat to fans, a Special Ultimate Collector's Edition would be nice, with a reproduction of the original theatrical poster, the complete soundtrack, and some rare collectibles.

"After all, tomorrow is another day!"
