Was in Sam's Club last night and found some really great deals on Disney stuff.

Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers - Complete Vol. 1 and 2 for $12.88 each.

Darkwing Duck - $12.88

Tailspin - Vol. 1 - $12.88

Have A Laugh! Vol. 1 & 2 - $9.96

Also found lots of other great bargains that I plan on returning this weekend to pick up to complete my Christmas shopping, on my very limited budget.

I went to see a musical today (and Q&A afterwards) and bought it half way through. :)

Image
Memphis: The Original Broadway Production [Blu-ray]

Fun Side Story: After the Q&A I had a lovely talk that was a pretty decent length considering with the actress/singer who played Mama in the tour, Julie Johnson, about a range of things. It was only after I left I was rereading the program that I've heard her since about birth as she is also the voice of Baby Bop in Barney & Friends. :P Wonderful voice, great show and she and her 13 year old son (who was shilling programs before the show) could not have been nicer people. :)

$8 @ Walmart in their Pre-Boxing Week movie rack

And I've given-in to the dark side. I said I'd never get a DTV Disney sequel, (I don't count Fox and the Hound 2 as I had no choice because it was packaged with the first) but I was intrigued by this one...

Image

$29.99 @ Walmart - I was lucky to pick it up as with the run-up to Christmas, they only had three copies left. :)

11.99 this week at Best Buy. So annoyed at how Best Buy removes the slipcovers when something is on sale though! I know, a lot of people here hate slipcovers. Well, being a collector, if they're going to come out with slipcovers, I expect mine to have one! I don't mind when they're extremely cheap and ugly, as some are, but if I really love the imagery on it, or if it's shiny or holographic or whatever, then yeah, I want it. Anyways, I look forward to finally seeing this movie. I have heard opposing reactions, and what I'm expecting is something that doesn't make a lot of sense or something (from what I've heard), but I already know it should be worth it for eye candy alone. I never was too into the lead actress, but as Baby Doll, wow...

Note to slave2moonlight:

If you go to many collector's conventions, you will be glad to know that slipcovers do not make a film any more collectible than those without slipcovers.

Just like a collector won't buy a sealed copy of anything, be it music, or movies, because they want to make sure what they are buying is in the package being sold to them.

Like you, I prefer to have my movies with slipcovers, if that's the way they came, but I don't not buy them if they don't have a slipcover.

Just thought you might like to know.

I thought slipcovers were only on the 1st run of a title. After that the studios shipped them out without a slipcover.

It doesn't stop me from buying a movie, but it upsets me when some stores remove them on release week. My Target has been doing this to fit the movies into their security cases. Also some slipcovers go for a pretty good amount online (trading sites, eBay, etc...).

Also, still shopping around. My friends want the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie and the 2 Deathly Hallow Harry Potter flicks.

That's because their are idiots who have more money than brains and think that eBay, Craiglist and places like that are collectors heavens. They are not. You need to go to a collector's convention and see for yourself. Also Goldmine magazine is a real good source of collector's memorabilia and you will get a good idea what they sell for there.

I know about these things because I run a collector's show that travels to seven states here in the Heartland, and I know what collectors look for.

I keep forgetting to mention that I picked this up, partly because it has a ton of material for five bucks (there are supposed to be a lot more episodes on there beyond the Christmas ones), but especially since I wanted to get the Fat Albert Christmas Special anyway. I recently got the Fat Albert Halloween Special, and that was a real nostalgic treat for me. Used to watch him on Saturday mornings.

$5 at Wal-Mart

(they also have Bah humduck for that price; Wanna go back and pick it up, though money is tight because I bought Sucker Punch and am supposed to be saving)
