I"m glad that you enjoyed it,Atlantica :D and I"m also glad that you,Supertalies and bruno_wbt you have and I hope all of you are having fun with it :D.
Anyway,Atlantica,I agree with you and it's my favorite sequel and I think that your review was really good :D.
In the Mersisters game she that she went to the surface? (I have the DVD but the features doesn't work like I said before) anyway she should have been on the surface, but I"m glad that they showed Ariel's mother and not just showed a picture of like (Like Prince Charming's mother in Cindy III and Jasmine's mother in Enchanted Tales).

You know in Ariel's diary entry? I almost figured that it was actually referring to the movie, when she goes up to Eric's ship. It would certainly fit in very nicely, but the age on her diary is still off. So close, huh?

was this a fairly good movie? I almost bought it when it was released, but put it back.

Sometimes I buy the DTV princess movies and share them with my nieces.
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Yes, it is a good movie (see my review on the last page :) ). If you like the Princesses, then it could be very enjoyable for you and your neices.

Well, I thought it was fairly good. Not masterpiece worthy, but I've watched it several times and have quoted along with it a lot (mainly with Marina's lines . . . she was an entertaining addition to the TLM timeline, although we all know Ursula wins everything.). The relationship with Ariel and her sisters and the whole talk of "music = love" is a nice subject, but it lacks the action that made Cindy3 a milestone DTV sequel.

However, adults will like it . . . kids (hopefully) will like it . . . and music lovers will pass out because they'll love it. Check it out.

XD

I just read something really stupid. There's this Croatian website and they are giving away free TLM: AB DVD to whomever answers this question right: "What's the name of Ariel's prince"? Everything would be OK had they actually given the correct name as one of the options, but the only thing these names have in common with the actual name is that they all begin with an "E" - Edward and Emil. And no, neither of these two names is Eric's name in the Croatian dub.

Here, see for yourselves:

Here's the entry for you:

"Guess what? Flounder and I swam up to the surface today and saw something amazing! I know we're not supposed to go there without Father, but I don't see the harm. Anyway, we saw a ship, and heard the most wonderful music aboard. We were so excited that we swam the corkscrew all the way home!"

Hope that helps!

Thanks for typing it up! :)

So like I said, it had the potential to tie into the first film- mentioning going up to the surface, hearing music on a ship, but then the last sentence totally ruined it, trying to tie it into this movie (TLM:AB).

Watching it with the canonically, this movie is one of the biggest disappointments of my life. But watching it as an Ariel fan, the movie is pretty good, and easily brings a smile on my face.

No problem. I've now capped all of the vanity stuff with the sisters' journals, so if you want info or their entries, I can write them (or upload them somewhere for you guys - that will take a while though . . . patience!)!

I agree, it was a near tie-in with the original (mainly the going to the surface part), but the last sentence threw that theory out. (Darn you, Disney for messing things up like that . . . *grr*)

And I just watch it so I can try to quote Marina, Benjamin and Ariel's lines. But yeah, I enjoy myself while I watch it, but it's quite a disappointment (compared to the original, anyway) . . . almost like the animation for TLM2, IMO. But I still have fun and I just love the way the sisters are portrayed . . . they're so fun.

Nice find, WillytheDino!

That's a nice comparison between the original, the music clip of TLM3 from the TLM Platinum, and the actual TLM:AB release . . .

I'm not sure which version a prefer more, but they're all nice. I'm guessing since TLM:AB is a "prequel", Ariel didn't get into the red lipstick until she "came of age" at 16 (in which, thanks to the TLM:AB Vanity Game, is indeed 15 in the third film) . . . that would make sense. However, I'll prefer the final film result over the teaser.

Do you know what this chart needs? TLM2 . . . (Ariel was quite off once she turned mermaid again . . . and she didn't grow up enough to fit her older age. LAWLs.)

*I gots all dolled up for the TLM2 re-release - hooray*

I haven't seen AB yet, but maybe that ship and the music spark up her interest in the human world? That would fit nicely with the timeline of the series and the original film.

I've been meaning to talk about this for a long time, and is actually one of the things that I actually really, really like about this movie.

Did anyone notice how, throughout the film, Ariel always refers to Triton as "dad" or "father" (aside from the time she was getting scolded after the walk), but in the very last scene, she finally opens up to him and calls him "daddy", like how she does throughout TLM and TLM2?

I just thought that was really sweet, and was a nice way to show at least a little development in their relationship.

I actually didn't pick up on that, but it's very true! Good observation. :D

I did and I actually thought it's sorta out of character, she always call hims "daddy" and in the series too, even in Kingdom Hearts.

Hmm, I didn't realize that until you mentioned it!

However, I guess it was only natural for her to be so formal toward her father (he is the King, after all) when around other royal workers (i.e. Sebastian and Marina . . . or even her sisters) . . . but then again, those ten years after Athena's death made Triton a strict fuddy-duddy, so he had to make his own children follow the same perfectionism and formality that he made his kingdom follow. I suppose once Ariel was allowed to be herself and Triton realized his major mistake, perhaps she was waiting a long time for the right time to finally be happy to call him "Daddy" once music was allowed back to her beloved kingdom.

I know . . . too much?
