I just saw the T-Squad video. It made me want to cry, and not tears of joy. That's my favorite song in the movie, and...now it makes me shudder.

I saw the vid. too and the special effects were okay, but the tone contained too much hip hop, I'm in the process of outshining T-Squad's verison in favor of Jesse McCartney.

After hearing T-Squad's lousy remake of 2nd Star To The Right", I decided to bring forth Jesse McCartney to lay his tracks for "2nd Star", hopefully this will rid everybody's mind of T-Squad's remake.


2nd Star To The Right: Neverland's full of adventures, wishes and plenty of imagination. Peter Pan represents the spirit of youth while reminding us the power of childhood.

Thanks for the image, Dottie! Yeah that's how my greek copy is too, it comes with a beautiful slipcover and this wonderful disc art- not like the TLM's disc art that hardly cover 1/3 of each disc! I have to admitt, as for the package, Peter Pan is one of the best Platinum Editions ever!

Thanks for that, Dottie. Although I'm glad they used full disc art instead of the partial ones of Cinderella and The Little Mermaid, I don't like how they used the rough versions of the Darling children for disc two. Actually, John and Michael are okay, but Wendy looks so spaced out in it. Let's see if the R1 discs will feature the revised kids since the US has had more time to make printings.

What I'd give if it were a multi-page section broken up into various sections of production, with nice and lengthy features that can be played together to form a 90-minute documentary, along with standalone related featurettes. Alas, Peter Pan, you came five years too late for that.

Actually, I think the gallery is the one truly meaty thing we can look forward to. Most of the photos seen in this site's interview with Kathryn Beaumont are from the DVD's gallery, according to Renata. If Disney had included the freaking Christmas show here, I wouldn't mind the brevity of everything else so much (One Hour in Wonderland added a lot to Alice's set). This may just be the weakest Platinum to date content-wise, even with the commentary ported over. This is what happens when Disney rushes a DVD production to cross-promote it with a film so unstable that it's been postponed for overhauling. Sigh.

That restoration is absolutely breathtaking. It's sharp and concise without looking like someone clicked the Photoshop sharpening tool too many times ala the 2002 SE. The colors are more natural and have real depth to them rather than the flatter, cartoonier appearance of the previous disc. Thanks so much for the caps, Aladdin! Does the film include restoration credits at the end? If it does, can you tell us if it's by Lowry or not? This really looks like a Lowry job, and if it's not, then I'm even more impressed.

And yes, there are restoration credits at the end. For once, they don't really match the film's opening credits. Without being able to check them right now, I can't answer your question, however. Anyway, Aaron's forthcoming review should answer most questions that will arise. Except, of course, for things like "Why isn't the Christmas Show included in full?!"

Never mind. Then I guess it's been ported over. I was thinking that the 2002 SE just had Canemaker talking, but that is the Anniversary Edition of <i>Dumbo</i> I'm thinking of. It's been a while since I listened ot the <i>Peter Pan</i> SE's commentary.

Simba3, unfortunately I can't post any scan of the booklet since I don't have a scanner. But, except the "Peter Pan: 2-disc PE" index, all the rest are advertisments for R2 upcoming releases...that is there's no TLM3 or Aristocats:SE or Tinker Bell movie advertisments. So there are no new informations at all. But hey, I only know for the greek release. Maybe the US or the UK release will have more.
