I thought those pictures were movie stills at first. They were making me think, "Wow! I need to watch these again! This is the most lifelike animation ever!"

It should also be considered that Bo Peep is technically the only toy that's not a toy. She's a lamp, and could have been packed for somewhere or something else. Still, she might end up in the movie and have a big comeback or something.

I also have the new Buzz (not that really cool-looking $65 one, but the $35 one which is what I think is in the pics above), and the new Bucket 'O Soldiers... which is kind of a disappointment because I think the quality was a lot better on the original bucket and this one doesn't have any Sarge that I could see.

I have the new RC car which is amazing and pretty much what I've wanted since Toy Story came out in 1995!!!

I also bought a 3-pack of the aliens which isn't very impressive, they're pretty much just hunks of plastic (with really great sculpts though lol).

I decided to pass on Woody and Rex because my originals are good enough for me lol.
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

I used to have a buzz lightyear, but his wings were extremely short and they shot out the sides of his pack instead of the bottom.

I also had a very expensive slinky dog.

I really think Andy would give Molly his toys. Why give them away when you can save your mom some money and give them to your younger sibling?

No, mine is the expensive one, I want only the best. Though its less in stores than on the Disney store site. mine was 50 at toys r us instead of 65. and I saw that it was 40 in Kmart.

And I agree about the lack of a sarge, isn't he basically the main character out of this group?

anyway, cant wait to get the rest of the line, but it might be a while before I can afford it. I think I want my next one to be Rex, but I'm torn between that and RC.

oh, and one more pic I thought was amusing.

Edit: and shouldnt Molly be closer to 14 in this?

Definitely get RC, since it's a real working remote control car, and Rex (the one I saw anyway, I don't know if there's a different one) looks like just a hunk of plastic lol.

Nah, the expensive Rex has a mode where he talks.

• Turn Rex's tail to activate Talking/Roaring feature with moving hands and head
• He knows if you're shouting or talking quietly to him and responds accordingly to the tone of your voice

Not that it really matters, I'm into these for display mainly anyway. all I care about is how movie accurate they are in their sculpts, paint and articulation.

But RC does seem fun. My only gripe with him so far is his remote doesnt have a turbo mode on the remote control as seen in the movie.

That's great! I have the same gripe :P

It's still really awesome though, and that Rex is cool too.

We couldn't make a "3" that looked completely different than the first two; however, as a studio and both technologically and artistically, we've made great strides over the last fifteen years. I mean, you look at "Ratatouille," it's just a gorgeous, gorgeous film. And so you want to take advantage of that, but at the same time, you want the world to feel familiar, so that was one of our big challenges at the beginning, working... luckily I had Bob Pauley who was the original production designer for the first "Toy Story". He designed Buzz Lightyear. He's my production designer on this film. We all worked very hard to have the world... and it's a constant challenge to have the world feel familiar, but to take advantage of what we can do now artistically. So if you look at "Toy Story" and then "Toy Story 2," there was a big leap in the look of the film. You know, just to be geeky, we were able to use depth of fields, which is something we couldn't do on the first film at all. Suddenly we could use focus and depth to augment our visuals. We've made even more exponential leaps doing "3". We had to rebuild everything. It's not like these characters were sitting on a disk somewhere waiting to be used again. We had to rebuild them completely from scratch, and along the way we were able to give them more sophistication in their look and in their controls. But the other thing is that the animators at our studio have gotten... they're just phenomenally talented. They've gotten so much better than they were on the earlier films. But I have to restrain them because Woody needs to behave like Woody. Buzz needs to behave like Buzz. I can't have them suddenly feel like a little human, you know, come alive. So it's a... yeah, it's a constant battle. It's a fun challenge to have it feel like "Toy Story." but have it look really kick-ass.

Theres some other nifty stuff to read, but the the thing that stuck out to me is the remodeled the characters from scratch.

also, lookie what I got.

Timothy Dalton, a former James Bond and Shakespearean actor to boot, will voice a worthy thespian hedgehog named Mr Pricklepants in Disney Pixar's "Toy Story 3."

A five second clip of the newly created character for the franchise, shown here by Walt Disney Animation and Pixar Animation Studios chief creative officer John Lasseter, was greeted with hoots of laughter from a packed Odeon Leicester Square Thursday morning.

Spoilers; highlight to read.

http://community.livejournal.com/ohnoth ... tml#cutid1

Empire magazine attended the presentation in which Lasseter revealed that Timothy Dalton will voice a character call Mr. Pricklepants in Toy Story 3, "who's something of a luvvie and wears lederhosen." The magazine described a animation test they saw of the character and the trailer:

We saw a tiny animation test with Mr Pricklepants (who's cute in a spiky way), but the big news was a lengthy Toy Story 3 clip and trailer. The clip showed Andy packing from college, and emptying all his toys into a black bin bag for storage in the attic. He hesitates over Woody and Buzz, finally putting Woody in the box of things to take for college. But all the toys are panicked - especially Woody, who's worried for his friends. When Andy is distracted by his little sister and leaves the garbage bag on the landing instead of upstairs in the attic, his mother takes it out to the kerb - and a frantic Woody has to save his friends from a rapidly approaching bin lorry.

We also saw the as-yet unreleased trailer, which showed bits of the same scene, but developed the story. Clearly the toys end up being sent to a daycare centre, where they are horribly abused by the little kids - and after that it's time for a break-out attempt to find a safe haven, and hopefully a new owner, in a cruel world. It looks every bit as good as its titanic predecessors.

I heard about the new character and I think it sounds okay. The plot sounds kind of promising. Hopefully, it will be as good as the first two Toy Story films. I cannot wait until June 2010.

Oh wow. This looks to be the most emotionally powerful entry yet. I mean, there's the fact that Andy outgrew his toys, but still has an emotional attachment to them. Then there's the whole daycare center which should provide some "shock" moments as they get abused by the little kids.

I can't wait!

UGH! Why does Pixar constantly cast her? Her voice is bland and boring, she always just kills me. Especially in A Bug's Life. Please, anyone reading this, QUIT CASTING THIS WOMAN! :x
