I dont realyl realize what makes it a spoiler. Isnt one of the lines from the early teaser "If it gets cut, it loses it's power"?

Her eyes on this concept-art done by Glen and Claire Keane are pale green on both. I swear because I have the purple version in high-def for months and months now as I've worked on books inspired from the movie.
Sure, the older painting looks unique and more artistic and classy, but the changing of the outfits and colors have nothing to do with more or less being an adult, or sexual meanings or by comparison to Gothel!
Wow, it's so fun to read some fans extravanganzas thoughts!! lol
It's just simple in fact as she was supposed to wear a green dress at first, but then Tiana was on production as she wears a green lilipad princess dress!
So they just switched to another color that princesses rarely wear before and fit well with her blonde hair : purple.
Personally, purple-lilac-mauve are my fav' range of colors so I'm totally happy with that choice.
Also, she pops better on forest backgrounds as the movie is very colorful. :)

Since you have that picture in high-def could you post it here for us? I'd love to use that image as my wallpaper. Thanks. :)

I thought that the color of Rapunzel's outfit had to do with the color of the rapunzel plant which is usually purple and from which Rapunzel got her name in the fairytale. Did the creators know this or was the use of the purple a coincidence?

On another note, I think that the blue outfit from that leaked footage year ago suited Rapunzel better. I preferred that character design for Rapunzel as well. I find her current character design not very successful. Her features are very disproportional. Those huge eyes look creepy and her mouth is way too small. Other Disney princesses had big eyes like Ariel or Tiana but in those were more in harmony with the rest of the features of the face. Just my opinion anyway.

Sotiris2006, I'm not agree with you because to me, just personally, I think the design with the blue dress has more disproportional features than the actual one. Just look closely to the chest, shoulders and see how much they're small comparing to the head volume. Second, her ears are way too big and her nose is very long!!
Sure, some think that the final Rapunzel design has too large eyes but that doesn't bother me and as far as I saw som sequences at the Paris' presentation, I didnt have any problems neither with her eyes or mouth at the end. Maybe it's better to see her act and speak because she totally looks like a typical Disney's heroine to me and she is very pretty and cute in the movie.
More, blue is beautiful but too much used and overseen on heroine's outfits. Purple si so much accurate for her but I'm not sure if the crew knew intentionally that the rapunzel flower might be sometimes purple...
Oh, and sorry, but I'm not allowed to share the refs-stuff I have from the movie sady...

Yes, isn't it fun to go into the deep dark recesses of their minds and go behind the meanings of things and discover what they really were intending? :P My theories are for my own sake. Makes the time waiting for the movie fly faster! :D

I thought the flower was usually gold? Also on the dress, I actually never cared for it. When I saw the picture I was disappointed with her design and her dress. I don't know why I didn't care for it, I mean it was blue! It could of maybe been the sleeves.

Ok, I'd seriously like to meet the Cupcake thug.
Wait... Did cupcakes even exist then? :? Oh my gosh could it be another historical inaccuracy by Disney?
:jawdrop:
Sorry, I had some sugar yesterday. 8)

Me too. I certainly makes her more realistic (though Tangled has a realistic look on their characters).
