I'm digging the fact that Ella is a fan of Shakespeare!Ella is different than most young women in the kingdom. She can quote any Shakespearean play. She befriends every animal she meets, including the scurrying mice living in the walls. She believes in the power of kindness, in changing customs that are not so kind. Ella has faced unspeakable tragedy and loss, and is at the mercy of her cruel stepfamily. And yet, Ella tries to keep a brave face, no matter how difficult this becomes.
Kit has always been deemed a "dreamer." He values peace above all else. He's never understood the point of certain royal traditions and rituals. He'd rather spend time in his mother's garden than learn to fence or sit for a portrait. And as a prince, this has been somewhat problematic.
This is a story about kindness and courage, about love lost and love found, about the power of names. This is the story of Cinderella.

Below is a synopsis for one of the novelizations of the film, and it gives us some insight into the characters of Ella and Kit!

That's fantastically wonderful and beautiful! I'm very happy these two main characters will have such depth and attributes. And the befriending of the mice is in it! Just like the original! Yay!

Actually her hair is partly up, atop her head ,in three sections, much like the original Cinderella's hair was up, atop her head in three sections, just all the way up. So maybe they did try to make it a little like the original. I love it!supertalies wrote:They went in a completely different direction from the animated movie (her hair is also down), and in my opinion it works.

Re: New Cinderella Adaptation by Disney
I think we'll get a trailer with some footage soon. I expect it sometime this October. But did you see the synopsis from the book Cinderella (Live Action Film) Picture Book?
Great description of Ella, and now we know the palace will be shiny (like palaces like Versailles?) and perhaps have the clock in a palace tower just like in the original film!Ella is a special girl--one who cares for every person and animal she comes across; one who values kindness and courage above all else. But her true uniqueness comes from staying compassionate and brave, even when faced with trials and tragedy. From not giving into darkness, even when it seems all hope is lost.
Follow Ella's story in the classic tale told anew--a tale filled with bright pumpkins and glass slippers, with shiny palaces and ringing clock towers, and with the power of kindness and courage.
I don't find it standard, I find it unique and very Cinderellan (I just made up that word, lol). The way the collar rounds out on her shoulders to form puffy sleeves that are sort of in the shape of the original is unique and beautiful. But by now maybe you already thought the dress is special since you've seen it close-up. It took me seeing it close-up to think it, too.supertalies wrote:I this her ball gown? I mean, it's a really pretty dress (and I don't mind if it's not blue), but I was expecting something.. really unique and special for her ball gown. This one seems kind of like a standard pretty fairytale dress.

According to the link below (and several other news sources), when Cinderella makes its television premiere in mid-2017, it will air on one of the Turner Broadcasting networks. I'm sort of surprised and a little disappointed. I was thinking/hoping it would be ABC Family. That channel always premieres films as if they were grand events.

YES YES YES!!! I figured we had to get SOMETHING soon! I was wrong about us getting something in October, and I didn't think we'd get anything in November, but color me happily surprised! Thanks disneyprincess11!
Aw, Old Fish Tale, I know how much you want to see them! Me, however, I cannot wait to see EVERYTHING! Or rather, I cannot even wait to just see a few seconds of FOOTAGE!!! Haha!
I can't believe it's finally coming!!! I thought we'd have to wait to close to Into the Woods's release because I thought it would be attached to that film (and it still probably will be) because the audience for that film would also probably like to see Cinderella, but we don't have to wait that long! YAAAAAAAAAYYYY!!!

That trailer will be attached to the first part of 'Mockingjay', so I think we'll have to wait until next week to see it. In the meantime, we may get something new this week: a poster or a still. Who knows?
Re: New Cinderella Adaptation by Disney
I was thinking maybe we will get a trailer tomorrow because didn't the teaser come out two weeks before Maleficent? Therefore, a trailer release a week before Mockingjay premieres is not far-fetched. Then again, the Into the Woods teaser came out the day before Guardians of the Galaxy, so it will probably be next week. Either way, I just want to see something!!!

Yes maybe a still or a few of them will come soon! And maybe the trailer next week. But really, anything coming soon I eagerly await!

Re: New Cinderella Adaptation by Disney
They are really keeping this film on the D/L aren't they ? Wonder why ? There doesn't even seem to be a secret / excited early buzz for it yet either. Or is that too soon ?
Re: New Cinderella Adaptation by Disney
Trailer will be released this Wednesday, 11/19!!!
