Yes I think it will be an effective cover - here in the UK there was an Enchanted Holographic Cover DVD in which Giselle turned into Queen Narissa!!

It would really set them apart as a collection, and I'm pretty sure that I would only buy from them exclusively for it. I was having a very hard time picking out which release I wanted to pick up, but this might've settled it for me.
I love the idea of the Steel book. This is exactly what I was hoping for from the Disney company itself.....but this isnt what I was expecting from Best Buy. I was under the impression this would be a steel case to house the Snow White DVD along with its original packaging....not just the discs. I didnt know you would have to get rid of the original packaging to use this. I dont know how I feel about that. If you use the Steel Book...... what would you do with the case the discs came in??????

PS where did the Pinocchio Steel Book come from!?!?!

Well, the original cases would always come in handy if you ever wanted to sell the DVDs on to someone else. Otherwise you could always display the steel-books separately (on top of a bookcase) or something... :)

It's actually the Snow White steelbook, I just put the Pinocchio disc in it to show an example.

I hope that the CD soundtrack is newly remastered after all the hard work of the DVD/Blu Ray sound engineers!
I really hope to God that you are right about it being a Lenticular cover. :(

As I can understand Snow White's picture is just replaced with the Queen's, there still is the fact that there would be the exact same image (only bigger) in the center as well as right below it, which would look even worse and would not be an effective cover.

Actually, what Deco King is saying (and I find myself agreeing with him) is that the lenticular cover will switch from having Snow White prominently and the old peddlar woman on the bottom to vice versa (old peddlar woman prominent, Snow White on the bottom).

In other words, imagine this:

...morphing into this:

Do we know for a fact that the BD case will have a lenticular cover like that? No, but it seems too bizarre (even for Disney) to have a villain be the central focus of a cover while the title character is nearly shoved off. I think that if worse comes to worst, the slipcover will be a static image with the peddlar woman, but the actual insert artwork on the case itself will have Snow White. At least, I hope that's the case (pun not intended).

Ahh, ok.. so basically having the entire cover lenticular rather than just the mirror part. Sorry for misunderstanding. But thanks for clearing that up.

Although I really don't like lenticular cards, I guess it would be better than the Witch being the center of attention on that Blu.
I wish they could have just made both Combos' covers the same instead. Has Disney even made a lenticular DVD cover before? I know that they had some sort of thing for the Bug's Life Blu-Ray, but I think it was some sort of DMC special.

Maybe it will be a "book" slipcover. (Like Sleeping Beauty and the earlier DVD Platinums.) I like those a lot for some reason. :P But a lenticular would be nice too. I don't know, mine is going to be in the steelbook at all times anyway.

I think they've mostly just done the foil embossed slipcovers up until now.

The Queen would not want to see herself as an ugly old hag in the mirror as "fairest one of all"!

I wish that it just for the Blu-ray it would have either A) The Queen appear in the mirror to replace Snow White, meaning, yes, two Queen's, but she's that vain, people! or B) The Queen disappears from above the title when replacing Snow White in the mirror.

Of course I really just wish the Blu-ray combo case would look like the DVD combo case.

eh I've grown to like the cover, I'm pretty sure the stark difference in cover artwork is to not totally confuse the customers. Doesn't matter to me, just can't wait for Oct 6th to see just how great this looks.

I hope not/doubt that it'll be a lenticular cover.

why? it doesn't make SENSE (geez I don't know why I keep writing make make). queen --> peddler woman does. peddler woman --> snow white doesn't. it doesn't mean they can't do it, but i just think it's a reason as to why it shouldn't be done. I don't know about US releases, but they do often have disney lecticular covers here as in store bonuses, for both dvd and blu-ray. So for those who desperately need a lenticular cover, there'll probably be one somewhere in the world.

the reason why people think it may be a lenticular cover is because they are so similar. I think the reason why disney produced two covers so similar was to differentiate the two blu-ray combos packs (DVD packaging, Bluray packaging). I think by now if they intending lenticular covers they'd mention it.

I just really don't like lenticular covers. Foil ones are much more pleasing to the eye! (altho aussie slipcases tend to look less flimsy than US ones). I care not for the whole dvd condom arugment.

IMO, it only makes sense because it adds the apple, which could've been placed somewhere else, anyway.

On the new Snow White mini website on Disneygo.com the Slave in The Magic Mirror looks so good it's a shame there isn't a cover variant with the Wicked Queen standing in fromt of the Magic Mirror and a holographic image of her reflection which changes into the Slave in the Magic Mirror!
