I like this cover in theory but it seems that Belle & The Beast look to be at too strange an angle making them look almost off model, the logo from the trailers is much better, and most nip picky the rose really shouldn't look like it is in the ball room. I suppose that sounds like I really don't like it but really minor tweaks to Belle & The Beast and I think that most of my minor problems will just be forgotten, anyway.

oh great....Color Talk Time

Uhh idk...I thought it looked okay.....its not like they changed Beast to Purple or Belle into a blue skinned person or colored Gaston to wear an all pink outfit......

EXACTLY! Please. Pleaaaasssee can we not turn this into another color thread. That conversation is so old. It will most likely be closer to the colors on the dvd, people. Get over it.

I don't know if they're the "right" ones but they aren't the ones originally shown in theaters. They just re-used the colors from the Platinum transfer for the Diamond Edition trailer.Goliath wrote:I just watched the BatB preview on the Dumbo dvd. Have we gotten a press release for this yet? What do you think Disney will add and remove from the Blu-ray? Who will mess up the song "Beauty and the Beast" once again lol? Disney doesn't see that there are more songs in the movie that they can remake! I'd love to see a remake for Be Our Guest or Something There. That would be awesome if done right!

Hmmm I was wondering with BATB being converted into 3D for release in 2010 could they possibly delay it to next year?
So whilst Bambi will still come out in March, Lion King gets pushed to 2012 after it is probably also going to be converted into 3D?
Then you'd have both Fantasias, Dumbo and *just maybe even* Pocahontas 15th Anniversary in November/December.
With Disney pushing back, canceling and doing all kinds of nonsense it wouldn't be unforeseeable.

Ah! I've been misled!
So here's what to find on the last page of the Bambi topic:
It's all but confirmed that it's delayed to Christmas 2011.
Here's what they'll do:
They'll hype up the October release.
They'll pull it off the shelves in January.
They'll take advantage of the people who missed out to hype up the 3D release at the end of the year.

Oh, no, no, no, no! I am NOT going out of my way to get Pocahontas again, b/c I just got the 10th Anniversary Edition on Sunday! And if it turns out that it's getting a re-release this year and too soon, I am gonna be mad!BK wrote:Hmmm I was wondering with BATB being converted into 3D for release in 2010 could they possibly delay it to next year?

I didn't mean to start a new discussion about the colors, so you all don't have to overreact to it. I just wanted to know if the colors in the trailer for the DE were correct, and you know with that, I mean the theatrical version. We all know for a fact that the colors on the PE were nothing like the theatrical version. I still have no idea WHY Disney did such a thing. There's just not ONE logical explanation.

The Disney Company doesn't have its head screwed on quite right as of late?

[Argument is not aimed at you] I think the "director's vision" argument for the color changes has been exhausted and really doesn't hold a candle anymore. Since when has Disney been a director driven studio as of late. I feel like the directors are the captain and the marketing team is Auto controlling everything, giving the illusion the directors have control (Wall-E reference). Look at Rapunzel, at the drop of the dime the marketing team can rename a movie, (or the changes in The Princess and the Frog for politically correctness, or the self-edits in Mermaid, Aladdin) so how can anyone tell me with certainty that color changes are completely the intentions of the directors. For all we know, the marketing team demanded it on the grounds of their study concluding that happier colors will sell better. Who knows? I just think with all the power and control that Disney has bestowed on their marketing team, I have reservations on directors having much say on anything anymore without marketing interference. I personally never felt the color change in Beauty and the Beast was intentional and that it was a mistake (well, it looks to share the same color problems that The Searchers restoration did, even though its all CAPS).Goliath wrote:We all know for a fact that the colors on the PE were nothing like the theatrical version. If the colors matched the Diamond Edition cover, I'd be happy. With Cogsworth and Belle's hair being brown instead of reddish and Beast's eyes and teeth being white again (no more of that pink stain we see during that sequence on the DVD).

The 3D version Beauty and the beast has been completed for quite a while now, It was suppose to released on valentines weekend this year, but it was decided to hold it back for release until next November to take advantage of the 20th anniversry. and for more 3D screens to be availble. It would have ended up being pretty difficult for there to have been enough 3D and Imax screens availble for it have come out at this time with how big Avatar was still around that time.BK wrote:Hmmm I was wondering with BATB being converted into 3D for release in 2010 could they possibly delay it to next year?

the bluray will still street this fall, and sometime in the future you will see 3D releases of Beauty as well as toy story 1 and 2.

Exclusive: Don Hahn on His Disney Animation 3D Projects
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=64300

Having produced Disney's award-winning classic Beauty and the Beast, we asked Hahn for a status update on the plan to convert the 2D animated musical to 3D for release in 2011, the film's 20th Anniversary.
"We just finished it a couple weeks ago, it's spectacular," he told us. "I think it's one of the benefits of doing 'Beauty and the Beast' on CAPS, the animation computer system, was that all the artwork was stored on levels, so that we could go back and dimensionalize it, turn it into a 3D movie. I can't say it was easy, but with a lot of help from Pixar, and a lot of brainy software writers, we were able to create some software that was able to help us convert it into a 3D film."
He even commented on the chances of seeing some of the other movies featured in his documentary being converted to 3D for theatrical re-releases in the future. "Obviously, 3D is a huge deal these days, and if 'Beauty and the Beast' works, which it does. It's glorious in 3D, I think we'll probably take some of the other premium titles and turn them into 3D as well."
