Make sure the box that says "Disable BBCode in this post" isn't checked off when you're writing your post.Jules wrote:Btw, is it normal for Mozilla Firefox to mess up on the UD boards when I'm trying to format text, like adding bold, italics, colour, etc.? I doesn't work properly for me.[/b]

And I ditto Heartless's "Thanks!" to goofystitch for the pictures!

Recently started obsessing over the movie a few months ago. I've got it on VHS but the VCR doesn't work.. Dont have any DVD's of it so now im waiting for this DVD to come out.. I cant wait!
Just a random question: No scenes were deleted from the movie, right?
(Reason why i was asking is because of the DVD of the Last Unicorn that i got) And the 'Deleted Scene' isn't in the movie itself, is it? Just on the bonus features?

I got my copy a few days ago, and no, no scenes are missing from the movie. The deleted scene is not included when you play the movie, only when you go to the special features.Kraken Guard wrote:Just a random question: No scenes were deleted from the movie, right?(Reason why i was asking is because of the DVD of the Last Unicorn that i got) And the 'Deleted Scene' isn't in the movie itself, is it? Like i said: Reason why i asked that question was due to the DVD of the Last Unicorn which had a word taken out.
As for the Deleted Scene? You can blame the Lion King and Beauty and the Beast for that one.. (Morning Report and We'll be Human again)

Now this is one film I've never seen. It seems to be generally considered to be rubbish, but obviously it has it's fans on this forum! It looks a bit Lord Of The Ringsy to me, not a bad thing in my book! A shame the DVD seems to be a bit bare [Disney do have a habit it seems of treating their 'lesser' films not that well] and I remember reading rumours somewhere a while back thay they were putting out the uncut version-obviously that's not the case at all! Will still buy it though!

What do you mean by that? You mean the scenes that were cut from the final product before the movie was released, or just the Fair Folk scene?Coolmanio wrote:Yep.Disneydood wrote:I'm sorry if this has long-since been answered, but will this edition have the ten minutes of footage that was deleted?

Nope, it doesn't have the scenes that Katzenburg butchered...those were cut late in the game...the Fairfolk scene wasn't completely animated and will be shown in storyboard and partial animation, if my memory serves correctly without finding where in this thread that was said...DisneyJedi wrote:What do you mean by that? 'the movie is out in the netherlands and i've watched it yesterday..i couldn't see a thing...it was pitchblack...i haven't seen it before as a child, so i dont know what the colours looked like on the last dvd, but this special edition isn't that bright and well-coloured in my opinion, sometimes colours even changed...the extras are as well pourly...ashame they didn't use the fairfolk scene in the movie, because it looked almose completed..i think they didn''t put it in to save time....
the worse thing was that disney briought it here on the market in an eco-box...blegh..sounds like something to put your banana-peel in... ;P

It sounds like you need to adjust the brightness/contrast settings on your television. Also, did you expect a large amount of extras for for this film? The fact that it was even revisited with a Lowry restoration and a 25th Anniversary edition is a miracle!Toky wrote:'the movie is out in the netherlands and i've watched it yesterday..i couldn't see a thing...it was pitchblack...i haven't seen it before as a child, so i dont know what the colours looked like on the last dvd, but this special edition isn't that bright and well-coloured in my opinion, sometimes colours even changed...the extras are as well pourly...ashame they didn't use the fairfolk scene in the movie, because it looked almose completed..i think they didn''t put it in to save time....

I'll just put a descrip of the scene in white, just incase of spoilers.Kraken Guard wrote:Just a quick question..
What exactly is the Deleted Scene of? I mean, i know it's something about the Fair Folk, just wondering what it is..![]()

Unless you dont want to spoil, but curiosity did kill the Kraken Guard..
The deleted scene was basically just an alternative scene for the Fairfolk scene we see in the movie. You see an alternate whirlpool sequence, and then a whole new Fairfolk scene (with variations on Fairfolk designs and differnet Fairfolk "powers" and etc). The Fairfolk's magic is based on nature and plants it seems in these deleted scene. For example, when Taran, Eilonwy and Fflueder are leaving, they leave on a giant beanstalk with leaves instead of floating away. It was neat seeing the alternate scene, but I prefer the one we actually got in the movie.
And let me tell you, the colors and animation look absolutely brilliant.. I can honestly say this release is one of the best looking films Disney has put out on DVD. I'm guessing that Lowry restoration has something to do with that. XP
Here's hoping to a Blu-ray release soon..
