I doubt it, they said at the D23 Expo that the Hawaiian doll would be called Lulu, so I guess it's a female character.
A making-of video shown to the crowd of fans revealed a glimpse of new paper doll-like character Lulu, and some scattered others.

All those bandages... She's definitely been chipped and broken. Even if the character doesn't die at the end--which would have me balling my eyes out, tbh--having her run around in scenarios where she could be shattered is complete nightmare fuel.

Shouldn't another trailer be here soon?

That's a better picture of her. Yes, she's been Disney-fied, but there is a nice shine on her face.

I'm very curious what they are going to do with her. But, my 5-year old self isn't ready. Will the "biggest cinema moment in history" really be her death? She was more or a less a cameo role. So, I don't know if she would carry emotional gravity like Buzz and Woody. And why would they add her back in only to kill her off?

Yes, supposedly within the next two weeks we'll have another trailer. I'm expecting this to be our first "real" with actual footage.

Wild speculation here:

Bo Peep could potentially have a very powerful storyline, if you think about it. Every Toy Story movie is essentially about maintaining the community of toys— usually with Woody in the lead when something goes astray. So why didn’t Woody or anyone attempt to save Bo when she was tossed aside? Especially Woody— They were a couple and he’d saved toys before, after all.

So this is a Bo Peep who has literally been broken, and someone who had to figure out that she had to fend for herself. I figure that will cause tensions with Woody. I’m really betting that by the time they reconcile in the climax, Bo will end up in a situation (maybe saving Woody or another toy?) where she ends up getting pretty damaged.

With the Super Bowl, The LEGO Movie 2 and How to Train Your Dragon 3 coming up soon, I think there's definitely a chance we'll see the next trailer premiere with one of those.

While fans wait for the first full trailer, we have some news that should wet their appetite. We have some juicy plot details for Toy Story 4 to get you prepared for how the highly-anticipated sequel will follow up the near perfect third film.

After being given away by Andy to toddler Bonnie at the end of the last film, our favorite toys including Woody and Buzz Lightyear are having as much fun as ever taking care of their new kid. The gang is still there and fans will love seeing them together again. A problem arises when a new toy called “Forky”, voiced by Tony Hale, arrives at Bonnie’s room and throws their happy existence into chaos. He consists of a spork with pipe cleaners and isn’t by any means a regular toy. In fact, he doesn’t see himself as one at all. That doesn’t matter to Bonnie though, as he is thrown into the group for her enjoyment.

When the toys decide to go on one last trip to the outside world together, along with Forky, they meet new characters at a carnival. These new toys include prizes “Ducky” and “Bunny,” voiced by Keegan-Michael Key and Jordan Peele respectively. As they embark on their entertaining yet emotional journey, they will find out what it truly means to be a toy. It’s basically an existential crisis through the eyes of a toy and knowing Pixar it will likely be one to remember for years to come.

Although many were satisfied with Toy Story 3, there might be a story worth telling in the fourth installment. Knowing it’s likely the last time we’ll see the gang together is already enough to pull at the heartstrings so it becomes all that much more difficult to imagine how people will react when the credits start to roll.

I love how they're pretending that this is for sure the last Toy Story film.

Hmm .... the plot doesn't particularly interesting to me at all ? Sounds very very forced if I'm honest.

They really should just carry on with the shorts, they were lovely !

Sounds like a concept related to breaking the 4th wall, but instead of staring at the audience or realizing they are in a movie, they becomes self aware of what they are. (I referred to this trend in this post: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=32748)

Somehow I think they're deliberately being secretive / evasive about what the real plot consists of; the stuff with Forky seems like the opening of the film at most. They don't mention Bo Peep at all, for example, and I don't think her role is an afterthought, but something tied into the main plot.

Laurie Metcalf gave some details about her appearance as Andy's mom in Toy Story 4 in an interview:
“Surprisingly, my character is in it for a second. And they showed me the mock up of what they had – which is a little flashback, and it’s in the very beginning of the movie – and it made me cry.”

I wasn't (and I'm still not) too confident about this movie, but this sounds... intriguing. What it truly means to be a toy and how would they make me care for it?

My guess is flashback is Andy's mom giving Bo Peep away or putting her in Good Will (or a similar donation store along those lines).

She looks so Disney-fied. Nothing like her former self. They even changed her skin tone. She looks more like a Barbie doll than a porcelain figurine now. None of the other characters got such a radical makeover.

I totally get what you're saying Sotiris. In my opinion, however, Bo's old look would not hold up today. Her old design screams outdated. There's something about the shapes and the angle of her eyes and smile that reveals that this was designed when CGI was brand new. Her grayish skin doesn't help either. That being said, her old look is also vintage since her eyes are definitely painted and that detail is loss in the new design. I do agree with the Barbie doll comment.

Well, those shorts are going to continue as well.
They've announced no such thing have they? I was under the impression they were done with those for now.

Anyway, I really don't like how they made her look like an anna barbie. I don't even see her as being porcelain anymore.

I don't agree. Barbie in toy story 2 versus in toy story 3 is a good example of a design that says early CG. I don't read that from bo. It says vintage like you say. Which is not the same thing as vintage CG. just an old porcelain figure.

woody's design doesn't look modern either, you gonna redesign him as well? They updated him but only where it made sense, like thickening the folds of his collar, shaders that feel more true to life. better facial distortions. But they changed nothing so drastically that he couldn't be posed to look like more or less like he did in the first two movies. This time with bo she looks like a different toy altogether. Like some different toy company picked up the rights and made their own sculpt. If this is indeed the same bo in our toy story canon she should not have been changed this much.

They could have updated her design a bit without going this far as they've done with the rest of the characters over the years.

They are. That was an old post. I assume that when Toy Story 4 went into production they decided to stop making more Toy Story Toons to build up anticipation and increase demand for the characters.

Couldn't agree more. Why do you think they did that though? Perhaps Barbie doesn't appear in the 4th one and thus needed to make Bo more conventionally pretty and modern to sell dolls.

Anyway, here's another image of hers.
