No way! My mom bought that for like $80! Now I feel sorry for my mom. But I bet yours was used.Escapay wrote:The Fantasia Anthology $27

My cousin works at a GameStop, and I told him during my brother's birthday brunch last week that if he ever saw the Anthology, to buy it and I'd pay him back. Lo and behold, the day after I told him, he called me and said, "I've got it in my hands right now" so I told him to give it to me during Thanksgiving. He got it at 25% off the GameStop price, so rather than pay $35, I only needed to pay $27.TheSequelofDisney wrote:No way! My mom bought that for like $80! Now I feel sorry for my mom. Ouch. Do you think all the mistakes will be fixed by the time this hits us in R1? Or will it simply get worse for us?2099net wrote:

Again, I find myself banging my head against the wall in frustration. They've knocked up a cracking set here – by my estimation there's about 15-16 hours of supplements here (if you count the commentaries on every episode which are 10 hours alone, some "in-vision") But all of this content just highlights what is missing. For example why are the BBC Online Commentaries not included as well as the all-new commentaries for the DVD release? It means, for example, most people won't get to hear Steven Moffat's excellent comments on The Girl In the Fireplace. Where are the trailers? Last year's set had them? Also, it seems odd to miss the mostly inconsequential but short TARDISodes for each episode off the DVDs too.
But the biggest disappointment is the Children-In-Need special (a mini-introduction to the 10th Doctor and prologue to The Christmas Invasion) is missing significant music and sound effects. It also looks like it was originally planned to be edited into two smaller episodes (perhaps to be spread over the Children-In-Need telethon) as the theme music starts up mid-way through for no reason! I can only assume this is a earlier edit of the special, which has found its way onto the DVD by accident.
And that's why I feel frustrated. Last year we had sloppy authoring which resulted in one of the episodes missing a chapter if played using the PLAY ALL option and "forgotten" deleted scenes (even though the commentaries kept mentioning them as being on the set). This year we have an incomplete Children-In-Need special. Shouldn't the BBC have better quality control on this, undoubtedly one of their biggest and most expensive DVD releases of the year?

I wish I could have but our cable provider carries SoapNet only on Digital Cable (I think channel 120 here), and my parents don't care to upgrade from Basic.dvdjunkie wrote:So Escapay I take it you didn't watch the Luke & Laura 25 Special on Soap Net? It was fabulous and brought back a lot of memories of those good old days of GH when it was a great soap opera instead of just a run-of-the-mill one.
Well, the missing TARDISodes and website commentaries aren't "mistakes". Because they were financed by BBC On-line, it appears that they are locked in rights issues (although the Christmas Invasion does have the on-line commentary "in vision").Escapay wrote:Ouch.
