I'm a graphic designer and I've seen my fair share of ugly DVD packaging made by wannabes. This, however, is gorgeous.

This is an absolutely gorgeous package. If Disney releases Song of the South as a Treasure, they should refer to this for a cover.

That artwork is impressive, and it would be nice to see Song of the South, but with the way this society is, it won't be likely.

It has nothing to do with society, and more with the fact that Disney doesn't have enough cojones to release it.

Quite a bit more than $125 has been paid for authentic SotS discs - they were, on the other hand, considerably larger than a DVD...

Nice artwork - ready for Christmas 2007, or what?

Thats probably Because Song of the South movie has never been released on DVD nor Video or any format in the USA. I think there was a Video of made in the UK of Song of the South in PAL Format but I think that and other foreign contries on Lasedisc and Video but I think If i recall correctly in December 2001 Disney Withdrew All version of Song of the South Worldwide. So thats why it hasn't been seen very much and the last theatrical release was in 1986

Love it love it love it...

EXCEPT...

You forgot to credit Ruth Warrick (Miss Sally).

(sorry, that's my only gripe)

I noticed that too. It's not my cover. Otherwise, I'd put her on there. :D

First of all, this is someone else's work. thatartguy even said it. Also, the person who made this terrific art made another mistake in the description on the back:

"This wonderfully colorful spectacle is filled with fascinating characters, including the smart and witty Brer Rabbit and his bumbling sidekick Brer Bear."

Brer Bear is Brer Fox's sidekick. I guess that's an easy mistake to make if one never saw the film. Otherwise, it's still great work! I can't wait for this to come out. I hope I won't be in Shady Pines though when it finally does, lol.

Has anyone thought of sending this cover to Disney... Maybe they'll get inspired... IF SoTS was to be released what better way to do it than as a treasure release?

That artwork looks so realistic, especialy the front, I was like... wow this cover better be the offical cover of the film's Treasure release, great work man, keep it up. Maybe you could do another one for Jungle Book and Peter Pan's platinum covers please

write back please

This cover makes me want this film so bad. The Song of the South is the only Disney animated (well including half animated) film that I don't have (not including Chicken Little). I just got the Behind the Scenes treasure, and have loved The Reluctant Dragon. C'mon Disney, you have to release this PART OF HISTORY!
Best Movies of 2009:

2. Inglorious Basterds
3. The Hurt Locker
4. Coraline
5. Ponyo

Def. Impressive and would look nice in that format.

However I have to admit that I've seen the film and it was "okay. It's def, not on par with some of the other films from the era but it has its moments.

There are two elements that have helped to make the movie bigger than it is, the first being it's theme song and the second being it's lack of availability.

The rumors with the film have long since passed the actual product. The film is not nearly as offensive as some make it out to be (Gone with the Wind was far worse IMO and even that wasn't offensive to me) but it's also not nearly as entertaining.
