Mickey Mouse (2013)
Re: New Mickey Mouse Shorts Coming in 2013
Now there are two upcoming shorts left, now I'm a little concern what will happen to Mickey and friends after they reach their 19th short. I just hope Disney Channel won't banned them again and replace by those tween bopper morons.

The show is acclaimed, successful and has won multiple Emmys and Annies. Why would Disney cancel the series? If anything, that gives them further incentive to produce more episodes.

Please try to control yourself, TsWade2. Such an attitude is not healthy and it won't get you anywhere.TsWade2 wrote:You're right. Let's just hope some good news will be on the way soon be it from Disney or Paul Rudish.

Re: New Mickey Mouse Shorts Coming in 2013
I saw a preview for this short on Disney Channel a little while ago. And it seems that this episode is going to revolve around Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy.
Also, Belle & Beast are going to make a cameo appearance.

Re: New Mickey Mouse Shorts Coming in 2013
I heard in a couple of places that the series will be having a second season.TsWade2 wrote:Now there are two upcoming shorts left, now I'm a little concern what will happen to Mickey and friends after they reach their 19th short. If so, then I'll really take that as a good sign that they know they're doing something right as well as ingoring the retarded comments slamming them for no reason on the official Disney Facebook pages, not to mention ignoring unnecessarily-scathing reviews from retarded know-nothings such as this Internet Movie Database review posted by Drew Curlee (d_curlee85):
Not to mention this stupid review posted by the equally-retarded Heikeduerr, who should be ashamed for agreeing with Drew Curlee:I'm gonna be honest here. What I saw was not Mickey Mouse; it wasn't Disney. All I saw was, in the words of Doug "Nostalgia Critic" Walker: "Evil corporate pandering with freaky imagery promoting everything that's wrong with humanity." All I saw was the kind of humor that doesn't belong in a Mickey Mouse cartoon, let alone a Disney one. All I saw was the kind of imagery that would give kids nightmares (not to mention looks *nothing* like the designs we're used to).
These "Mickey Mouse" cartoons are written and directed by Paul Rudish, who also did the character designs. Rudish, for those of you who don't know, previously had a hand in a number of Cartoon Network's "Cartoon Cartoons," including "Dexter's Laboratory," "The Powerpuff Girls," "Samurai Jack," and he even assisted with "2 Stupid Dogs." It's worth mentioning this because his style does not fit with Disney's. Sure, anybody can draw Mickey Mouse; but not everyone can capture his innocence or his sense of adventure. And Rudish's style is no exception. The way Rudish did his character designs is downright scary. Rudish is a talented artist; but, his style just doesn't fit with Disney.
Not only do the characters not look right, but also don't *act* right. When did Goofy get bossy in "No Service"? When did Mickey become a psychopath in "New York Weenie"? When did Donald Duck make butt innuendo jokes? Why would Mickey Mouse put 7-Eleven Slurpee in his crotch? So, regarding characters' appearances and behaviors, all I can say is that this version of "Mickey Mouse" is more like a parody you'd see on "Ren & Stimpy." Why do you even need to insert dirty humor in Mickey Mouse cartoons, for that matter? This version of "Mickey Mouse" is just like every other modern kids' program -- made with focus groups in mind, complete with pop cultural references, uncalled for and unneeded adult jokes, and appealing to the lowest common denominator. Not to mention making Walt Disney roll in his grave more times than he's already have. And I hated it.
People like these make me so angry I could bang my head against a wall for the rest of my life!I agree with d_curlee85. These new Mickey Mouse shorts are nothing like the classic Mickey. They look cheap, and the drawings look like a child was trying to copy Mickey, which might sometimes work in front view, but not when the characters move their heads. The movements aren't round either, I bet there are no 24-25 frames/second. This seems to be made quick and dirty by people who don't know Mickey from his golden age. If at all it more resembles the comic book Mickey than the movie Mickey. Disney should have kept the good animators like Andreas Deja oder Glen Keane. Especially Deja had done Mickey shorts before, which were brilliant.
This is just the cheap TV animation junk that you get by the dozen. Mickey became famous because he was nothing like the cheap animation of his time, but was done with care and high quality. Maybe Disney should think about this aspect of Mickey's history as well. But by the looks of these cartoons, nobody at Disney seems to remember Mickey's history...

I know I could get some flack for saying words like "retarded", but I needed to vent.

disneyphilip, as someone who has constantly asked the moderating team to censor others' posts for offensive language, your use of that word (twice) surprises me. Surely you'd know such a word is just as offensive and unacceptable here as four-letter expletives that have bothered you.disneyphilip wrote:I know I could get some flack for saying words like "retarded", but I needed to vent.
As I've mentioned in the past, the moderating team does not censor posts unless it is an extreme situation. We'd rather any changes be the decision of the poster themselves, to take on the responsibility for their words and act accordingly. As such, I highly recommended that you reconsider what you've written and make any changes you deem necessary. (If you do decide to edit your post, I'll edit my quoted portion of your post accordingly.)
And for all members, please refrain from making personal attacks against those who do not share your opinion - even if they are not members of the forum. This forum is not a place for such harsh language, no matter how needful a "vent" may be.

Yeah, I would not say that R word if I were you. I mean, sure, those comments are pathetic and stupid, doesn't mean they're......well, you know.

My God! This will be interesting. And yay! Daisy is back.P.S.: A link to an article with a preview clip from "The Adorable Couple":

I'm glad someone finally did a story about the contrast between Mickey-and-Minnie and Donald-and-Daisy.
And it looks like they got another SpongeBob artist on board.
