In its third weekend, Bolt dropped back to third place along with its biggest drop yet. This, however, happened to all major films, including Twilight, Madagascar 2 and Quantum of Solace. The good news is that including worldwide tallies Bolt has already earned 80 plus million, which means it should cross the 100 million tally soon.

I saw this with my best friend last Friday. I thought it was reallly good, I enjoyed it much more then Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons. My best friend Bobby was like "Thank God Miley Cyrus wasn't in it that much..." I was like "Gee your mean" lol. We both loved Rhino! Man we were just cracking up at everything he said and did! Mittens was a good character too, and I felt really bad when she was explaining to Bolt that Penny was just "acting" mainly because I did a similar thing to my black Cat named Kitty. "They leave her and she wonders what she did wrong..." Anyways its cause we had to move to an Apartment and they didn't allowe catsor dogs

so I kinda abandoned her. I still see my Cat since she now lives with my Aunt, and everytime I visit she always since next to me and follows me around. Any ol who, I really enjoyed Bolt, its probably one of my favorite films of 2008.

I'm definitely going to pick this one up when it hits the shelves

It still didn't feel like a Disney classic though, and no not just because it was in CGI lol.

Pixar’s first digital 3D short to be shown with Bolt

RottenTomatoes report that starting Friday, 3D Bolt screenings will be preceded by Pixar’s first digital 3D short called Tokyo Mater. Directed by John lasseter and based on Pixar’s 2006 feature Cars, Tokyo Mater is the fourth in a series of Cars shorts. According to the article, Tokyo Mater tells a fanciful tale of how Tow Mater, voiced again by Larry the Cable Guy, after towing a stranded car to Japan gets challenged to a race and becomes the drifting king of Tokyo.

1)boost bolt's gross thru the popularity of cars
2)cultivate a healthy brotherhood between the two studios..so disney finally listened to me.

akhenaten, your post made me realise how wonderful it would be if Disney features were preceded by Pixar shorts, and Pixar features by Disney shorts!

But would Pixar break their shorts tradition now?

I'd assume it'd have to be. I'm betting maybe three to ten minutes.

They're no stupid enough to think a 30 second short will draw in mass amounts of new crowds to see BOLT.

I don't assume they're thinking of drawing "large masses" -- more like luring people who have heard the good word of mouth and are waiting to take the plunge, and people who saw it once and liked it enough to see a second time. They did the same thing with the "blooper credits" in A Bug's Life, Toy Story 2, and Monsters Inc.

Congrats! (I can't say I hope you win cause I hope Wall-E wins, but I hope you get more votes than Kung Fu Panda at least

I still think its possible Horton Hears a Who is going to take the third slot behind Bolt and Wall*E at the Oscars -- very good timing for the video release -- but we'll see.

GOLDEN GLOBE NOMINATIONS FOR BEST ANIMATED FEATURE AND BEST SONG. CONGRATULATIONS WDAS.I DOUBT ITLL WIN IN BOTH CATEGORIES BUT STILL AN IMPROVEMENT AFTER SEVERAL YEARS OF AWARD DRAUGHT. IM SURE WALL-E WILL WIN HANDS DOWN.AND I DONT THINK BOLT WILL GET A NOMINATION FOR SONG AT THE OSCARS AS ONLY SONGS THAT PLAYED DURING THE MOVIE CAN BE NOMINATED.

YES..... THE 90S WERE THE GLORY YEARS FOR DISNEY AT SONG N SCORE AWARDS.THO IT SHOULDVE ENDED WITH HUNCHBACK N NOT POCAHONTAS.THE SCORE FOR HUNCHBACK WAS TOO EXCELLENT TO BE DISMISSED.

I HOPE THAT DAY WILL COME AGAIN.AFTER ALL 1989 WAS THE YEAR THE RENAISSANCE PERIOD BEGAN.COULD 2009 REPEAT THAT SUCCESS?

akhenaten, do you think BOLT can garner some Academy Award nominations in the technical categories (sound, visual effects, etc.). After all, Ratatouille did that.

I saw it on the 30th....honestly I liked Meet the Robinson's more however...

I did like this movie....It felt (even despite it being in CGI and not tradional animation) like I was watching a classic Disney film....the film didn't have a lot of what if's and confusion over the time travel as Meet the Robinson's....and I honestly felt like they wrapped the movie up nice....I really don't think it would or ever need a sequel....I felt like it was like I was watching.....a Disney Classic...which even though I liked Meet the Robinsons....I would consider Bolt to be in the future considered more of a Disney Classic than a lot of Disney CGI films that have hit theaters..I.E. Meet The Robinsons, Chicken Little....Although due to the financial hard times I can't go see it with the new Cars short in 3-D.....or in regular theaters...But say I did have the money..I would see it again not just for the new Cars Short...but to see this movie again.....because it is heartwarming and honestly reminds me of the classic films Walt Himself created...

umm no. i dont think it will.

disneyboy, i like meet the robinsons better, it felt like vintage disney.guess i was a bit letdown with bolt knowing that all those powers arent real. and gave up right at the jungle calico scene.the different pace between reality and fiction was too glaring.

i'd love to see more bolt tv series shorts made for the dvd. they can really go crazy on that one.there's no limit to what he can endure (but no aliens!)

I just sent a letter to Disney protesting the fact that the short is only 3-D, as I cannot see 3-D because I have an eye problem called "Myopic Alternation" and I only see with one eye at a time. I will not waste my money on seeing a movie that I cannot experience the full effect of.

C'mon Disney, there are people that don't like those stupid glasses, and there are people like me with a definite problem who cannot experience the 3-D movies.

short? what short?

if you just mean Bolt, they play it in both 3d and 2d, it just depends on the theater. some give you the option of both.

I watched it in 3D, and the clarity is amazing !

The first Real-D theatre in the Middle East just opened, here in Dubai, and Bolt is the first movie in Real-D to hit theatres, so I was obviously very excited.

I asked the management to release TNBC here, as I have never seen it in 3D, they said that they'll ask the distributor.

My only complaint is the glasses, they gave me ones with fingerprints all over them, should I get a bottle of water and a tissue to clean them or will that damage them ?

Yay Skellie! Glad to hear you're experiencing Real D for the first time too.

I'll be seeing BOLT in 3D next February because in Malta the first Real D theatre opened recently too (well, it was actually an existing theatre but managment decided to upgrade two of their screens to Real D technology. The other four screens still use 35mm).
