I think you're right, but it makes no sense for Disney to do that when Beauty and the Beast had a very colored background.

Maybe because Snow White, Pinocchio, and Bambi are all Walt's classic films (and from the same era often dubbed the Golden Age) while Beauty and the Beast came decades after. So all the "classic" films will have the white background. Disney has never been consistent with packaging and cover designs anyway so I wouldn't read too much into it. This is why I much prefer custom covers although I haven't yet found anyway that are uniform in design.

It's true! I had forgotten about the cover of Beauty and the Beast. But I think JeanGreyForever may be right and they want to differentiate the films from Walt's era from the rest.

Oh. Yea, maybe that's it JeanGreyForever. Beauty and the Beast wasn't made by Walt. But I don't know if that's it, and I still think they should all have consistent looks and colored backgrounds (I'm not a fan of the white).

From ZeusOnline.ca, listings for all releases for the next Signature Collection title, The Lion King have emerged.

Note there are two listings for each release, each with a unique product code as one is for the US version while the other is for the Canadian one. I can't tell by the title which one is which so I've listed everything here.

Release date: TBC (Estimated Spetember)
Pre-order date: July 14th, 2017 (Will probably be formally announced then)

Also, both sequels are lined up for a wide release.

1) LION KING: WALT DISNEY SIG COLL (WS/W/DVD/DGTL HD/ENG/FRN/SPN DUB/SBT) (BRD)
UPC: 786936853742

2) LION KING: WALT DISNEY SIG COLL (WS/P=F/W/DVD/DGTL HD/ENG/FRN/SPN DUB/SBT) (BRD)

3) LION KING II: SIMABAS PRIDE (WS/W/DVD/DGTL HD/ENG/FRN/SPN DUB/SBT) (BRD)
UPC: 786936853872

4) LION KING II: SIMBAS PRIDE (WS/P=F/W/DVD/DGTL HD/ENG/FRN/SPN DUB/SBT) (BRD)
UPC: 786936853889

5) LION KING 1 1/2 (2017) (WS/W/DVD/DGTL HD/ENG/FRN/SPN DUB/SBT) (BRD)

Let's hope they add the bonus features back in from the DVD that were thrown into the Virtual Vault last time. As well as add back the missing cloud.

The media planner lists all 3 movies for an August 29th release date, but it might still change knowing them.

The Lion King cover is just a mix of the Platinum and the Diamond edition covers.

I'm excited for these! Even though I just got a copy of the 3D Blu Ray Target Exclusive for the DE of TLK which has the digital copy (surprisingly unused!), and I just ordered TLK2 and 1.5 a few days ago since I assumed the sequels wouldn't get a wide re-release. But oh well! It'll be nice to have digital copies of the last two films!

Did anyone notice in that press release for TLK2 that Neve Campbell is credited as the voice of Pumbaa and Nathan Lane is credited as Kiara? rotfl

It's remarkable that Luke haven't reviewed this new rendition of Bambi yet.
