So far, I'm loving Let It Go and the Reindeer song. I like Love is an Open Door, but i think it's too short, rushed, and repetitive. I wish they could add more lyrics. It might better sound in the movie because I really like the medley so far.

First opinion that really goes into detail. SPOILERS at the link though, I believe it is marked at the half way point, so the first half is safe to read.

My god, how I dream of a day when movies are not reviewed based on how feminist-friendly they are and how many "PoCs" there are.

What an annoying review. It's like she hasn't watched any Disney movies since Little Mermaid. Not all females are @$$kickers who never need saving. Also, I am so glad the filmmakers aren't idiots who shoehorned in token "POC" for no reason other than political correctness. I would have actually found that pretty insulting. Also, isn't the term POC racist? It's like white people are the "norm" and the rest of the world with all it's diversity gets lumped into "POC". Stupid stupid.

I know this is off topic a bit but it seems that faithful Russian CGI adaption of the Snow Queen has been so far given a rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes. To make it on topic some of the criticism directed towards the movie really seems to show how a faithful adaption doesn't always mean it will be a good movie. Adapting the Snow Queen to the big screen often means you need to know what to do with the material given in the original and see what works or what does not. One common thing a lot of adaptions of the Snow Queen does is make her into a full fledged villain. I think the only adaption in my opinion that is really good in putting some personality with the Snow Queen as the villain is the Happily Ever After on HBO where the late Eartha Kitt voiced the character. Often times I feel in these movies the Snow Queen really is kind of dry as a character.

I believe whenever Disney adapts a movie it often tries to do something really different from everybody else. I mean take Beauty and the Beast for example look how different it is from the original tale and other adaptions. Its a version of its own that none can capture at all. The purists might say they are butcher the originals but I think each adaption of any story or fairy tale they keep the spirit of what was in the work. When I see Frozen's details it might not look at first it could be the Snow Queen but when one looks closer there is spiritual similarities that carry on the essence of the tale.

Really nice to see others who realise the hypocrisy of the use of the term 'POC'. I personally believe Disney handled the whole PC thing well. They are quite brave for not giving into these silly arguments.

I hate that they changed the cliff scene.. The one we got in the app focused more on the danger.. what we see here is more comedy..

I don't know.. we'll have to wait and see.. Maybe it's the next clip they decide to release.

Yeah that review sucked. Basically she only like this movie because it was "feminist pandering" rather than the fact it's an actually good movie with well written story and characters. I hate super liberals.

The Scandal of the "This is not Blizzard, This is my Sister !" Scene Being Removed ?
No one is aware of that forthcoming drama : Disney lied to us. They put in all their Frozen trailers that already emblematic Anna's quote and chilling pinacle scene of a threatening Elsa, Maleficient style, gracefuly conjuring her sublime celestial snowflake shaped spell and lethal magic blizzard from the top of a hill.

Now read the leaked novelisation and watch the new footages (that has been changed) when our friends land on a white blanket after Marshmallow last assault : that iconic scene that sent chills through so many viewers'spines probably won't be in the finale movie. What a shame. It will be like not having Rafiki raising Simba or Ariel in the splashing wave on her rock in the theaters on the D Day.

Also watching Little Mermaid on DVD and thinking how nice it would be to transport back to 1989 and not deal with stupid people like this and just see a Fairy tale as a Fairy tale.

I agree with you. A good example I like to cite for why changing the source material to make it work as an animated family picture is necessary is Don Bluth's Thumbelina. It's very faithful to the original story and as a result, I found it to be incredibly creepy (it is, after all, about a bunch of middle-aged animals trying to marry a teenage girl). Doing changes from the original tale would have greatly improved that movie, in my opinion.

I don't think the mixed reviews of that Wizart adaptation had anything to do with how faithful it was. Was probably down to shoddy execution and below-par animation, I would imagine.

In regards to the "that's no blizzard" scene - it was on that Disney Animated app, and it specifically said that scene was just a test sequence to help the artists get to know the characters and snow, not to be used in the movie. I really really dont think that scene equates to the "it" moment of the film, like Rafiki holding up Simba.

Wow... I won't regret saying this, but Kristen Anderson-Lopez has written her best lyrics for Disney thus far. So emotional and so simple as well. I love that

Fixer Upper is a funny song that really plays around with the usual guidance cliche.

Am I the only one who really likes Love is an Open Door? I think the reason why it's repetitive is because it's supposed to be a tounge and cheek parody of Disney love songs.
