I've been seeing the merchandise around here and there. Was at Magic Kingdom and they had an adorable set of the main fairies dressed in their 'new talent' outfits from the film. A bit on the pricey side, but they were beautiful!

I really hope this film does well, so Disney realizes what a mistake they are making canceling the franchise..,.

Great news, everyone!
Despite family competition from The Lego Movie and Mr. Peabody & Sherman, Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy sailed to a solid $1.6m (£966,920) debut from 405 sites through Disney, with 90.26% of its weekend gross coming from 2D screenings. That’s ahead of Tinker Bell and the Secret of the Wings’ UK bow of $855,000 (£528,820), with the film going on an excellent run to take $7.4m (£4.4m). Were the Pirate Fairy to emulate that run, it should be looking at a UK result of over £5m.

4. Mr Peabody & Sherman - £1,404,118
5. The Wolf of Wall Street - £1,130,707
6. Tinker Bell and The Pirate Fairy - £966,920

Flying up three places to third, Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy lifted 24% in its second weekend to take $2m (£1.2m), with 93.51% of its weekend gross coming from 2D screenings. With around $2.7m (£1.6m) added over the half term, Pirate Fairy has now sailed to $6.3m (£3.8m) after ten days in play and should shortly overtake Tinker Bell and the Secret of the Wings’ $7.4m (£4.4m) UK result.

Moving up three places to rank third, Disney's Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy posted an even stronger rise from the previous frame – up 24% – confirming the trend for families to mop up weaker titles as a school holiday nears its end. (Of course, it's also the case that Friday was a holiday this time around, providing a boost to all the family films that the previous frame didn't offer.) With modest production and marketing costs, and a rich afterlife on ancillary, the latest Tinker Bell will be a profitable film for Disney.

Although scheduled to go straight to home entertainment in the US on April 1, 2014, Tinker Bell and Pirate Fairy is an engaging, thoughtful executed animated work that’s earned over $8m in Britain theatrically since its Valentine’s Day premiere in the U.K., and another four or five million in a handful of other foreign territories.

Sadly some early reviews for Pirate Fairy aren't looking good.
I wouldn't let it get me down, I enjoy the TinkerBell series a lot.

Oh wonderful, I'm glad it has gotten off to a solid start! Just what we need to hear with regards to the longevity for the series.

Maybe Disney can look at this and actually put a future (fingers crossed there is one) Tink film in the cinema in the US ??

It has been heavily promoted here; in my local (and HUGE) shopping centre, there are animated billboards everywhere which is brilliant to see.

I'm seeing it this weekend, so I will let you know what it's like!

Thank you very much, I'm sure I will. I think the ending of this one will be the most intriguing … where will it finish? Will the path be set for a Peter Pan story, or do we have a lot farther to go before we see him?

The film is doing incredibly well in Russia too.
The animated The Pirate Fairy debuted with good results for a weekday earning 3.5 million rubles ($ 0.10 million) from 817 locations, which allowed it to take ninth place at the box office. This is three times more than what the previous Disney Fairies film had earned on its premiere day.

The Pirate Fairy earned on its first weekend in Russia 74.6 million rubles ($ 2.15 million). Such a strong start for the animated feature was not expected. The distributor's investment in advertising the release helped it get to the fifth place of the box office on its opening weekend.

The animated film The Pirate Fairy rose from fifth place to third on its second weekend. The feature earned 51 million rubles or $1.43 million for the weekend and 138.8 million rubles or $3.99 million during the eleven days of its release. The first Fairies film earned for BVSPR $418 thousands, the second and third went directly to home video while the fourth one Secret of the Wings was released theatrically and earned for WDSSPR slightly less than $2.13 million. Thus, The Pirate Fairy has become the most successful film of the franchise.

And oh my gosh, I didn't see the UK box office results the first time, that debut is AMAZING!!!

Interesting they say the distributor's investment in advertising the release helped it get to the fifth place of the box office. . . See, Disney, it was YOU that didn't see the full potential in this series, it can kick ass just as hard as Cars In The Sky ! *cough I mean Planes! cough*.

Fingers crossed Disney is watching these numbers …..

I'm not! I'd much prefer if the series were hand-drawn. Especially since they were to be animated at DisneyToon Studios Australia which produced high-quality animation (like Bambi II, Cinderella III etc).

I think I agree with you Old Fish Tale; they have achieved and created a lot of beauty with Tink being CGI … I'm not sure they could have done as much with 2D ? I am in no way discrediting 2D animation, I just think it works better as CGI series. Much as Tangled works being CGI with all her hair, over what could be achieved with 2D animation.
