You can give yourself a good workout playing some of the games, but I doubt you lose much weight. Until, Wii Fit hits stores, then maybe...

I don't, but then most of my time lately has been with Mario Kart (using the Wheel). Some games require you to get up and get moving, but 99% of the ones I play you just sit there like you normally would playing a console. I don't even use the motion controls for Brawl, so its no more than playing any other game. Really the only game I have that even requires you to stand up is Wii Sports, and I haven't played that game since last Fall. Its great at first, but the way its limited it gets boring in my opinion.

WiiFit is supposed to help you work out some, but its not a game I'm interested in.

I do like the looks of We Ski. It looks like it might be a good party/multiplayer game.

So Dr. Mario isn't released today? Well no need for me to spend money on WiiWare today. That was the only one I was planning to get. I was going to get the Final Fantasy one, but decided against it.

I am curious though, did anyone pickup the WiiWare Pokemon game? Is it worth it if you don't have any of the other Pokemon games? I know you can transfer your Pokemon from the DS games to it.

Sorry for the double post, but I finally picked up one of the Nyko Charge Stations today. I can't believe I waited almost a year to finally get one of these. Its charging now, so hopefully it works great.

I was also shocked today to see so many Wiis. Both Wal-Mart and Gamestop had them, and Wal-Mart had a entire display case full. Not sure if they just got stocked, or Wiis are finally becoming easy to find here.

I purchased a couple more Wii games today from Best Buy. I finally got "Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree". I had played it once before and enjoyed it and I'm glad I picked it up. I think it will be a good game, worth owning. So far it seems good for single player, 2 player, or even for larger parties. I also picked up "Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz" (for $19.99). I have had my eye on this game for a while since I have enjoyed previous Monkey Ball games, and I"m glad I waited for it to go on sale. So far it seems ok. It's not as fun as the previous games I've played, its actually rather different, but it is good. I didn't play too much, probably will play more tomorrow, but I think it will be worth the $20 I paid for it, for sure.

What is everyone thinking about Wii Fit? I think it looks kind of neat, but I don't know how much I would actually use it. I'm it pretty good shape so I wouldn't NEED to use it to stay Fit, but it could be fun. However, it is pretty price so I'm not sure. I think the mini games look fun, especially the skiing and the marble rolling one. Anyone planning on buying it?

I'm still not sure on Wii Fit. The balance board could be useful, but for the price ($90) I'm not planning to get Wii Fit. From what I've seen/read it does give you a workout, but its not going to get you "fit" like a gym, etc... would. It will be a huge hit. I kind of compare it to Wii Sports. That game, even as a pack in title, brought a huge amount of people to the Wii that never played a game. Wii Fit will do the same thing.

Anyway If a lot of games start using the balance board I might pick it up. Although if that happens we might have the balance board sold seperately, or some 3rd party boards. I know We Ski will allow you to use the board, but I don't think its required.

I do see a problem with broken boards in the future. A lot of people will ignore the 300 (I think the US board is like 320/330) pound weight limit, and then be mad when it breaks. I know that number seems like a lot, but it should have been higher in my opinion.

HEY UD Wii PLAYERS!!

I thought it would be nice if everyone posted the which games they have for the Wii, that way we could consult with each other about them and ask questions if need be. I figure with some Wii games being very pricey, it would be nice to be able to learn more about them before a purchase.

Wii Games

* Wii Sports
* Wii Play
* Super Mario Galaxy
* Mario Kart
* Super Paper Mario
* Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Games
* Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree
* Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
* Zack and Wiki: The Search for Barbaro's Treasure
* MLB Power Pros

Virtual Console Games
Donkey Kong Country 2 (SNES)
Streets of Rage (SEGA)

What do you own?

My small list...

Wii Games
  • Wii Sports
    The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
    Super Paper Mario
    Link's Crossbow Training
    Mario Kart Wii
    Super Smash Bros. Brawl
WiiWare Games
  • Lost Winds
I had Super Mario Galaxy, but my first Wii decided to eat it, and I traded in my replacement towards Mario Kart Wii. I'll probably pick Galaxy back up again when the price drops some. I regret trading it now, even though I had already beat the game.

Simba3 how is Zack and Wiki? With the recent price drop to $20 I've been tempted to pick it up.[/u]

Ya know, it got really great reviews, so I decided to pick it up a couple months ago. I actually really enjoy it. It is kind of like a puzzle solving game, it's rather clever. If you decide to buy it, don't be discouraged by the first half hour or so, it is a little boring, but it does get better. I haven't actually beat the game yet, I've been playing Mario Kart Wii a long since I got it, and haven't gone back to Zack and Wiki just yet. But I would recommend it, especially if it is going for $20 now. It's rather fun.

I purchased the Wii Fit today. I was a little iffy as to whether or not I would get this, but I'm glad that I did. Granted it is $90, and that is a little steep, I think it is worth it. I think Nintendo is really going to utilize the Wii Fit balance board, and it will be worth having. I have a feeling there will be more Wii games in the future that will be using this balance board. The Wii Fit game is pretty good too. I really like a lot of the balance games, they are fun. The aerobics and the yoga are both great too. It is set up so that you are able to unlock different activities as you go along. So far I am very pleased with my purchase, the game is good and I'm glad to have the balance board.

Odd question about WiiFit, but does the game actually come in a case? Or is it in a paper sleeve like Wii Sports? That paper case put a few scratches on my Wii Sports disc (and many other peoples). I should have just put it in a DVD case when I first got the Wii.

I'm still not real excited about WiiFit, but the ideal that the balance board might be supported a lot in other games makes me interested in picking this up eventually.

How many different activities are there in WiiFit? Also how is the quality of the board? Pretty sturdy, or does it seem like you might break it easily?

The game comes in an actual plastic case, like all other games. Not a cardboard CD holder, like the Wii Sports game.

I really do feel that the Wii Balance board will be utilized in future games. There is already a game out, We Ski, that is compatible with the board.

The different activities are good. There is: YOGA, STRENGTH TRAINING, AEROBICS, and BALANCE GAMES. The yoga is great, if you like yoga. I have worked at a couple of the poses and so far they seem good. I am just hoping you can eventually unlock a portion so that you can do a series of poses in a row for an extended yoga workout. I have not yet tried any of the strength training activities, so I can't comment on those. The aerobics seem good so far. There is a step class that you can do, where you step on and off of the board, like your basic step aerobics. There is a jogging exercise in which you place the Wiimote in your pocket and run in place. There is also a hula hoop activity that is kind of fun as well. I really enjoy the balance games. My favorite game is the one with the balls on a board with a hole in it, and you have to roll the balls into the holes by balancing yourself on the balance board and shifting your weight to shift the board. It's a lot of fun. There is also a fun skiing exercise, and a tight rope walking exercise.

So far, those are the only activities and exercises I have participated in, and there seem to be many more that I have unlocked, and have yet to unlock. I'm actually quite pleased with the amount of game content.

As for the Wii Fitness board, it's rather sturdy. It is not meant to jump on by any means, but for standing and doing the exercises properly, the way you are supposed to, it is perfectly sturdy.

What does everyone think of Wiiware so far?

In my opinion, I think it's pretty interesting. I, for one, have been getting tired of waiting for a good VC game to come out, so Wiiware is a great alternative.

I have only downloaded 2 Wiiware games so far, FFCC MLAAK and Defend Your Castle. Both games are fun and addicting.

Haven't checked any of them out yet, but I'm thinking about getting Dr. Mario Online Rx. We'll see. The games you mentioned, what are those like?

I like WiiWare better than the Virtual Console because they are for the most part new games. A few of the games are just ports of flash games online, but most are not.

I've downloaded Lost Winds so far. Its easy and short, but worth the $10 (1000 Wii Points).

The only other title I plan to download right now is Dr. Mario Online Rx. After that I'll probably wait until Bomberman comes out.

Found a Wii Fit after nearly a week of trying and a near brawl at Toys R us on the weekend over ten copies. Thanks to EB Games.

The yoga is an awesome workout. My muscles are burning. Just trying some of the games now. Soccer headers is the first. Takes a while to figure it out but then it is cool

Glad you are enjoying the Wii Fit, I am as well. I think the Yoga and the Strength Training are both great exercises. I really like a lot of the balance games as well, like the Soccer headers one. My favorite ones are the Table Tilter ones with the balls, that one is fun to me. This game really does have a lot to offer, I'm glad I got mine.

My best for the soccer one is 260-something, but I've been trying for a while.
