Re: Finding Dory
I saw Finding Dory today and it was about what I expected (and I figured I would mildly enjoy the Degeneres-fest). Well, on one point, no, because it wasn’t really as funny as I expected, or as funny as the first film either. I was surprised it was so serious, but I kind of appreciated the way they treated Dory’s memory issue more seriously. I’m hoping The Incredibles 2 is more like this or the TS sequels and less like the atrocious MU or Cars 2 (which I’m only assuming is bad because I never suffered through it after I how bad the first one was).
I’m glad Hank joined the group, just so he’ll be a part of (likely) future sequels.
Btw, I did have a moment of rage with the opening of Dory as a child. I’m so sick of nearly every film by Disney or Pixar (what’s the difference, ugh) having to open with cute/plushbait child versions of the main protagonists. At least baby Dory was cuter than most child versions.

Listening to most often lately:

Re: Finding Dory
I am the first to admit when I am wrong. I had zero interest when this was announced. I am not a huge fan of Finding Nemo, and usually sequels are worse than the original or more of the same. So, I didn't take the kids to see this in theaters. I did buy it when it came out on Blu ray and gave it to my daughter for Christmas. She watched it in her bedroom and told me it was good. My son told me it was good. Still, I didn't watch it.
My husband, of all people, turned this on Netflix at 11:30pm last night. I was exhausted, ready to go to sleep. I got sucked in....it was full of humor, an original plot, new characters - unforgettable characters. I stayed up and watched every second of it.
I am actually willing to learn a huge lesson from this. I am ashamed of myself for not giving Disney-Pixar any credit.
