Haha."Wouldn't it be amazing if this w/e there was a big #Zootopia announcment online? That would be so cool, wouldn't it?"
Sorry, I know that it's condescending of me to do so, but I couldn't resist.

That might be just first impressions because I think this will be a million times better than that movie.DisneyFan09 wrote:You've got to be kidding me!
Seriously! That was a tongue-in-cheek joke.
Either way, I'm getting a "Chicken Little"-vibe from the characters.
Well, they are both Disney CG-animated films starring anthropomorphic animals. There are bound to be similarities in visual style. Duke Weaselton reminds me more of Scrat from Ice Age than anything else, to be honest.DisneyFan09 wrote:Either way, I'm getting a "Chicken Little"-vibe from the characters.
It may seem shallow to compare them due to those reasons, but it's still relevant. But due to "Chicken Little" being labeled as an artistic dud (by the majority), one must wonder if it's going be marketed as the opposite. Especially due to being at Lasseter's vein, haha!Sotiris wrote:Well, they are both Disney CG-animated films starring anthropomorphic animals. There are bound to be similarities in visual style.
Oh yes, indeed! At least the designs for "Tangled" had a certain Disney-esque look to it. And "Wreck-It-Ralph" had passable designs. Otherwise, I agree. If it weren't for that "Frozen" had the Disney logo and was a musical, it could've been assumed it was a DreamWorks and BlueSky production in terms of designs. All the "Frozen" designs looked even more generic than any "Tinker Bell" character. Just look at how Rapunzel's design influenced both Anna and Honey Lemon (though it's been discussed to death, but still).Disney is not exactly known for diversity in character design. Their approach to design now is more safe and conventional than ever before.
Unfortunately, *sighs*. I wasn't particularly fond of the Nickolodeon-esque designs of the humans in "Lilo & Stitch", but Disney used to give us great designs priorly, as well as stylistic looks to their films.Disney's success in the early 90s gave way to experimentation with visual guides that deviated from the traditional Disney house style. But those days are long gone. Don't expect now to see something as stylistically different as Hercules, Mulan, Atlantis, Lilo & Stitch, The Emperor's New Groove, etc.
Could be.That might be just first impressions because I think this will be a million times better than that movie.

It's just a joke, I don't think its really groan worthy. I don't think it was to incorporate Frozen but just a mythology gag.disneyprincess11 wrote:^Agreed. What a tacky way to have Frozen be involved with something! How do you think they’ll incorporate Frozen in Moana then?
Agreed. If it were just a brief cameo character, it might have been cute but this is just cringe-worthy.Tristy wrote:If it were a small in-joke, I would be less put off but the fact that it's a more prominent character is just stupid.

I haven't read a character description yet; I've been super-excited for this movie, and maybe only in name will this character be cringeworthy, but what the heck were you thinking, Disney?!? Maybe they thought that it's praising Alan Tudyk, but it just puts a sour taste in our mouths. I mean, B&tB was a huge success, but they didn't name Ratcliffe, The Archdeacon, or Jumba after Cogsworth, if you catch my drift...Sotiris wrote:Agreed.
