It probably is the right date. I hope not, because Dumbo and Spooky Buddies (don't laugh at me - I have lots of kids) also come out on that day. I'm going to be pretty broke after that week.

sounds about the right date. It is an early summer movie after all. The ones that get released in May usually have a DVD release date in September.

You know what, I can see that actually.Barbossa wrote:The way that I summed it up was that it felt like an Indiana Jones movie. Either Raiders or Last Crusade. Basically a quest for a macguffin, but they had to find smaller macguffins first before the big one, and then the supernatural villain demise at the end - very Indy like.pap64 wrote:"On Stranger Tides" feels a bit more like a race. Sure there was the danger of the mermaids, but the danger was toned down a bit this time.

While I don't think it's fair that Disney's making people who want the bonus disc buy the 3D edition, I'm still happy we're getting one, period. I believe this is the first time since The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian back in 2008 that Disney's created a bonus disc for a live-action film.
The treasure chest is mighty tempting, but I've already got the Best Buy boxed set designed to look like the Pirates' Code book. Plus, a fifth one is almost surely coming since the script for it was just recently turned in to Disney. So I'll just be buying the 3D edition for now.

Wait, so there will not be a DVD only option?

(SPOILERS)
I just got back! It was soooooooooooooooooooooooo good!
Johnny Depp was TOO PERFECT! He was funny and clever! Penelope was awesome too! I can see why her part was written for her.
SPOILER SECTION:
I was really shocked about Blackbeard's death because Barbossa and Davy Jones, but suddenely a villian actually dies?
Also, those Spian pirates and Sparrow's Dad were sooo random. They didn't affect the plot at all.
And when Phillip drowned b/c Syria, I did NOT get that at all! They were like, "I LOVE YOU!" to each other, but then she drowned him???? After all what he did for her??? Was she pretending to love him?
I was really disappointed with Angelica getting abandoned in that island with her being pregnant with his child. (Intersting dialogue for a Disney movie
) I really thought that he would be going with her. But, I loved the almost-kiss and when the music cut when he was like, "See ya, sucker!" when their lips almost met!
OVERALL: GREAT MOVIE! My friend even said it might be the best one yet! Can't wait for the fifth.

I think she took him under the water to heal him, something to do with when she kissed him she gave him the ability to breathe underwater. I don't think it's explained very clearly in the film but I saw an interview with the actor who played Philip and he said that he could return for a sequel so I don't think the character was killed.disneyprincess11 wrote:And when Phillip drowned b/c Syria, I did NOT get that at all! Was Angelica really pregnant or did she say that just so that Jack wouldn't maroon her on the island? I saw the film a while ago so I can't remember everything that was said in that scene.
We're not going to Guam, are we?

I hope that's the reason, that makes sense. And yeah Angelica was pregnant because Penelope was ACTUALLY pregnant, so I guess that's why they put it inDisneyAnimation88 wrote:I think she took him under the water to heal him, something to do with when she kissed him she gave him the ability to breathe underwater. One of the men said that a kiss from a mermaid prevents a sailor from drowning.disneyprincess11 wrote:And when Phillip drowned b/c Syria, I did NOT get that at all! Yeah, I thought it was very Splash-esque.DisneyAnimation88 wrote:I think she took him under the water to heal him, something to do with when she kissed him she gave him the ability to breathe underwater. Although....Disney might change their mind about that....it's be really risky but a totally new turn for the franchise....not for sure if it's a good turn if it should come to be....Scarred4life wrote:No, Angelica was not pregnant.
Also is Angelica immortal now since she drank from the Fountain of youth??

Why? They said a mermaids kiss saves you from drowning. Shouldn't that sort of explain everything? I don't get why people question Philip's fate. Syrena saved him. Or did I watch a different film?disneyboy20022 wrote:I think the official answer is Up in the air at the moment...right now everything is just speculationdisneyprincess11 wrote: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh! There's going to be a DVD only version too, but according to this Dutch site it's just going to be a one disc version: http://www.bol.com/nl/p/dvd/pirates-of- ... index.htmlmilojthatch wrote:Wait, so there will not be a DVD only option?
