Yeah, everyone wants a GiftSet and I'm pretty sure that everyone thinks that the PE deserves a Giftset

Yeah, that was the one that was recalled because of the "objectionable" image in Triton's castle. That's more than likely the reason why the palace doesn't appear on the Platinum DVD cover even though it'd look great behind Sebastian's spot.

I own that VHS too. I still think that they could have done a similar cover for the PE. I'm sure that Disney could use a castle that clearly doesn't have anything objectionable on it. But i guess that's just wishful thinking.

The Palace with the Phallus!

Post by Disney Duster »

Okay, well, first of all, apparently everyone who has the 1990 release(Black Diamond) VHS of The Little Mermaid has the video cover with the phallic castle spire. Only the laserdiscs had an altered castle, according to this site.

Anyway, Disney's official Disney DVD and Video Web site now has The Little Mermaid Special Edition listed under "Coming Soon". And the official site(http://www.littlemermaiddvd.com) has been updated so you can pre-order the DVD, get your own trailer(to post on a Web site), and get your own E-mail signatures!

Well, It's good to see that Disney is updating their TLM site...but I would really like to see a full site soon (aka: clips, games, downloads, etc.) Does anyone know when Disney "upgraded" their PE sites in the past? From what I remember, it seems like Cinderella was updated in early September..

And as for the "Coming Soon" label, where do you see this? Everwhere, I simply see "Coming October 3rd", "October 3rd", "10/3/06", etc.

On the main page www.disneyvideos.com it's on the bottom of the right hand column now of the coming soon titles.

Yeah, I think it's one ore two months before the release. As for the downloads, I LIVE for wallpapers, especially if they're TLM, because that means Ariel's pretty face in high resolution!!

I'm a little late to reply about the Ashley Tisdale music video, but I just wanted to say I liked it. I thought the rendition of the song was better than the other two. The no secrets version from Disneymania is waaaay too girly pop and Vitamin C's version from Disneymania 3 was a little boring to me (no offense to her or her fans). I liked Ashley Tisdale's version better because it transformed the song better into a pop song. Also the music video had a lot more effort put into it than others. The "A Whole New World" w/ Newlyweds and "True to Your Heart" w/ Raven music videos were so boring because it was just them in a studio with clips. Also, the little storyline for the new music video was hilarious, though I don't think it was supposed to be that funny, lol.

Now I am wondering what other songs will be on Disneymania 5, which I'm sure they'll be making now that they've got Miley Cyrus and the unexpected successes from High School Musical for a while. I hope they bring the Jonas Brothers, Everlife, Annelieve Van der Pol, and Skye Sweetnam back. They're all great musicians/singers!

While I don't think the cover's bad, I do prefer the Japanese cover since I've always loved this poster and I think it's so much more stylish.

I've always been fond of that cover too, DanV, though I would have used a more serious title design. The one that is currently featured on the cover is unimpressive and cheap-looking. A different one with the same font but more vibrant colors would be hot. :)
