Yeah where is Ariel? I wonder if she's human or mermaid. I'm not a fan of how the princesses look here though. Way too off-model which I guess was necessary to make them suit the movie but I expected them to look more like themselves.

I don't like how they look as well. It looks like a bad fan art in my opinion.

Well, to cite my opinion about Yess; I like her facial design, but her hair is somewhat weird. Not the worst thing as I've ever seen, but still weird. As for the Princesses (which I personally looked mostly forward to); I guessed they were going to be a little stylish and while they are, they're still not as detracting as they've could've been.

I guess designing the Revival Princesses that were already CGI ones must have been an easy task :P Yet I'm glad to see that the always dismissed Pocahontas is present in the picture (which interestingly enough, Cinderella combs her hair). Yet speaking of, Mulan and Merida are also missing from that pic.

We know from the D23 Expo that she appears in her human form. If they wanted the princesses in their most iconic look they would have kept her a mermaid but having her be a human and Rapunzel a blonde is inconsistent. They should either have Rapunzel as a brunette and Ariel as a human or Ariel as a mermaid and Rapunzel as a blonde.

It appears they used the Disney Infinity type of stylization for the princesses.

I thought the exact same thing.

Real shocker that the hand-drawn princesses look awful in 3D.

It's not the same stylization but it's still awful. Upon closer inspection the princesses look even worse than I initially thought. Pocahontas, Moana, Jasmine, Cinderella, and Tiana look particularly horrendous. Here's a closer look.

Oh my... I'm the kind of person that almost always see something good in things people tend to criticize and defend movies until I see them... Yet even I don't think they look good? For real, even the princesses that were CGI before. What happened to Elsa? As for traditional princesses... Poor Pocahontas, Tiana and Cinderella. Now I'm actually worried how my two favourite princesses, Merida and Ariel, will look like.

Okay, I will say something positive: Anna looks good. I like Jasmine's design except hair. Aurora looks nice. And I like Snow and Belle's faces and hairstyles, but their dresses look terrible.

We can if it's actually something good. Not our fault Disney's unable to pull off the simplest of things. Do the princesses look good to you? Be honest.

Well, I like the picture, and is looking forward to the scene in the movie. Pocahontas looks a bit weird perhaps, but this is a frame. We'll wait till we see them actually move.

I am still interested in that scene. Just because I don't like their designs doesn't mean I won't enjoy the script. But I kind of agree with Sotiris. Tiana looked better at Sofia the First.

So, do you think it will be long until they will show Ariel, Mulan and Merida?

In my opinion, most of them look perfect. The only weird ones are Tiana (her eyes are giant and buglike) and Elsa, who looks off.

I hope some cynicism and possibly a little grumpiness doesn't kill your enthusiasm and stops you from sharing news in the future.

That's great for you but let's try not to shame people who didn't like them and respect everyone's opinion. You can say something positive about stuff you like without criticizing others who don't share your views.

The CG princesses don't look any better either. Just look at Moana or Elsa. ~shudders~

Pocahontas looks unrecognizable. She has such a brilliant design in her film and this is nothing like that whatsoever. And Cinderella looks like an old granny. Even her redesign clipart isn't this bad. Snow White reminds me of Colette from Pixar for some reason.

As pointed out, the CGI princesses don't look much better although they aren't butchered nearly as much as the 2D princesses (although I may be a bit biased since I prefer the original princesses). I'm almost glad I was spared seeing Ariel in this way.
