(I mean, because reprises usually are short songs); but maybe it's like the reprise of Part of your world, it starts with a very long time of music and at the end Ariel sings a little paragraph.... Well, we'll have to wait a little more to know that stuff =)
That doesn't always have to be the case–in fact, in The Lion King musical, "They Live In You" is shorter than its (much more awesome!) reprise by about a moment. Menken doesn't tend to do that, though.

I'm surprised "When Will My Life Begin" is reprised twice; what could the middle one be, if the first is establishing the monotony of Rapunzel's life and the third, no doubt, being when she finally leaves the tower? Something sung while Flynn is knocked out?

It's disappointing that they are promoting the film only in those two categories. :(
Where are those images from?

Best Score would be nice too ):

Although, there is this list: http://www.waltdisneystudiosawards.com/ ... gories.php

They're really going for the Best Director category?

Did they at least remember that this is essentially a Glen Keane production?

Meh, to be honest, I think the final product of the film is truly a mixture of the idea's of everyone who was once at the helm of the project.

I love Glen, but according to reports his version was very dark, so I think Nathan and Byron do deserve to be considered.

There is a preview in Columbus on the 10th! I'm so going. Seeing it two weeks early? Fantastic! Not to mention I can then tell all my friends how great it is. :)

I understand that we were supposed to talk about Disney's, "Rapunzel (Tangled)," but I thought I might share this information that I found under Disney's, "Rapunzel (Tangled)," on Internet Movie Database (IMDb). It talks about the directors of Disney's, "The Princess and the Frog," ready to adapt a novel by Terry Pratchett called, "Mort." This message is from Blue Sky Disney, and it is rumored that it will be their next traditional animated project for the future 2013/2014 release. I find that story, "Mort," by Terry Pratchett, kind of a reference to the Grimm Brothers' fairy tale, "Godfather Death," just my opinion by the way.

I'm pretty sure that the topic created by sotiris2006 called "Disney's Next 2D Animated Film Revealed!!" would have sufficed for that post. There's absolutely no point in posting that here what-so-ever.

Anyhow, I have really commented on this topic for awhile but a lot of this recent publicity has gotten me super excited!

I absolutely adore "I See the Light". I have to say, that at first I was a little disappointed because it wasn't exactly what I was anticipating but it's really grown on me fast. It's neat how complexly simple it is.

Does anyone know if there are any planned advanced screenings anywhere in the Chicago area? Or how are people hearing about them in the first place. Is there a website I can go to? I realized the other day that trying to find out information about this film back in 2004 was the reason why I started coming to UD in the first place. I cannot wait to see it, it'll be so bittersweet when i do!

singerguy04, try this link:

http://adisney.go.com/disneypictures/ta ... rt_rsvpnow

I doubt there would be any showings left, but it is worth a try.

As for how you find out about this stuff in advance, I got an email from Disney yesterday telling me about the opportunity and sending me the link. I believe the reason that they sent it to me was because I had participated in their "Post Your Dream" activity on the their website. This was the first time I had ever received something like this, but I plan to participate in these sorts of activities for future films to see if that is what triggers the email.

I got an email for an advanced screening, too. However, the closest theaters that are showing the film really aren't close and the screenings are during the week (which is really unfortunate for college students, like myself). I'd love to see it, but it most likely won't happen (so I just deleted the email).

I've been wanting a Disney princess with at least waist length long brown hair and hazel or green eyes.
spoilers!

I think her hair is pretty as a brunette, But i just don't like the other thing that happens to it.. (just gonna leave that open, i don't want to spoil it for ya if you didn't already know it)
Because it kind of changes the plot.. ALOT.
I want to know.

I just saw the Pantene commercial last night. I think it would have more impact if they ended with a real live person with nice normal long hair. That said, I'm sure Rapunzel doesn't have Pantene in her world, and as a person with long hair I can say Pantene made my own drier and more prone to breaking. But I LOVED seeing the clip of Rapunzel humming and brushing her hair. It was very brief, but it was in the commercial.

Her hair gets cut in de end and it doesn't grow back. Like, really short.

SKYLER888, WHERE did you get your banner picture?! Do you own the book now?!

Because I was going to post about how "The Art of Tangled" book has the original picture of Rapunzel on the swing, that was a test of CGI looking like a painting! And it's our first look at this version of Rapunzel clear and close-up!

But look, her hair and head changed a little!:

Disney Duster I just print screened the video that had the art book! I wish I owned it!

It's been my favorite image of Rapunzel throughout the whole production!

I am guessing the image of her in the art book was the original painting, and they image that has been around for ages is the CG rendering?

Mine too!

I thought you might know the history of the image, but in case you don't I will explain:

Glen Keane wanted to make CGI that looked just like a painting, specifically the paintings of French rococco artists Jean Honore Fragonard. He asked an artist to make the painting like "The Swing"...

Image

...in CGI, with Rapunzel. So maybe the picture in the book is a painting they did for it, and then the artist made that painting in CGI (so it looked just like a painting, so you'd think it was a painting if it was still, but it moved in 3-dimensions!) and changed the head position a little. So maybe you're right.

Too bad all that work didn't make it into the film, or it didn't make it into the film very much. : (

But what I was wondering was where that exact screencap came from because as you can see in my screencap the image is farther away and tilted.

I wonder how the songs are going to be in dutch, i'm already translating them into dutch and making them rhyme so i can compare them later...
(for the dutch guys here, this is 'When will my life begin' in dutch)

Wanneer mijn leven nou begint

Or something like that...

english version

And i’ll re read the books
If I have time to spare
Ill paint the walls some more
Im sure there’s room somewhere
And then I brush and brush, brush and brush my hair
Stuck in the same place I’ve always been
And I keep wondering and wondering and wondering and wondering
When will my life begin
