Today is MY FATHER'S BIRTHDAY!
True, he isn't an UltimateDisney member, but I do owe my love of Disney to him! I owe a lot more than that to him, truly.
As I mentioned in February, my father is as much like the Grand Duke from Cinderella as I am like Prudence.* I remember watching Cinderella with a group of other children when I was quite young, and how he entered the room during the whole "King runs around room trying to cut Duke's head off with sword" scene. The tent that the television was built around toppled over from the laughter of several children, because they suddenly noticed my father warning them about the dangers of high blood pressure and chasing people with weapons.
Yes, he actually "warned" a bunch of kindergarteners about said topics. If I had been any older, I would have been embarrassed.
I take that back. I was embarrassed, because they started laughing at me when they realized he was my dad. In retrospect, however, that was one of the funniest moments of my life.
My father has given me the gifts of imagination, intellect, a servant-centered heart, a unique and quickly disappearing perspective on the world, 20/20 and 20/65 vision, and annoying Pisces traits. I truly wouldn't trade him for the world, nor would I trade growing up as his eldest daughter for the world.
I'm not going to tell you how old he is. Let's just say that he looks just as he did in his thirties, even though he is much older than that now. (He was thirty-nine at my birth, to give you a hint. I did just give it away, didn't I?) He really looks just the same as he has for years, surprisingly enough!
*The character comparison is a bit Freudian sounding in this respect, considering that we are father and daughter. I digress. Plenty of things are Freudian in my life.

That's hot.

Interesting... My mom was 39 when I was born. Jeez, that means my dad was 48. Hard to imagine him that young... but enough about my wacky family, happy 18th anniversary of your dad's 39th birthday.Prudence wrote:I'm not going to tell you how old he is.
