Cydney, that's dvdjunkie's last line of all his posts! It just couldn't be a dvdjunkie post without the ""! Just like an Aaron post can't be an Aaron post with "Aaron" or Escapay post without "Escapay" at the end.
Like, I would use this icon at the end of all my posts, even if I was mad (but Luke didn't add that to UD's emoticons).
dvdjunkie wrote:Alan, don't limit yourself to the name-brand stores.......Look all around at places and don't just look at the first one, rummage through the whole rack, you would be surprised what you find. Looking for CD's one time in Target, I found the Metallica S&M two-disc set mismarked for 7.99. It's mine.
You have to really look, and look, and look. They aren't going to jump off the shelf in your hands. Hit every Wal-Mart, Circuit City, Best Buy, Good Guys, Target, K-Mart, Border's Books, B. Dalton Bookseller (if they sell DVD's) and any Electronics Boutique and used DVD places. You would be surprised what you can find if you look hard enough.
Yeah but by time most people search all these places, they've wasted enough gas to have bought it for a higher price, plus you could end up finding nothing. Plus, that takes alot of time to do.
Exactly, I don't have lots of time on my hands to go around massachusetts looking for the best priced DVD. I certaintly wouldn't do that once I get my license and starting driving (Hgih gas prices, ever heard of it?).

Hmm...I wonder if I would upset the order of the universe by ending my posts with this...

TheSequelOfDisney: Damn, did Lin-Manuel Miranda go and murder all your families?
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (glorious widescreen, with the-unnecessary-after-I-watched-it-and-not-worth-me-paying-$19.96-when-I-could-have-paid-$14.96 bonus disc from Wal-Mart)
*batteries not included (non-anamorphic widescreen, oh well, Wal-Mart $4.88)
Reality Bites: 10th Anniversary Edition (Wal-mart $4.88)
They had a load of Universal titles that ranged from pretty good (October Sky SE, Somewhere In Time pre-CE, etc.) to lousy (Jaws The Revenge). Surprised that they had Fletch, since it's apparently OOP. Gonna nab a copy later if it's still there...

Alan, do you know how to ride a bike........or even walk? Exercise is not a bad word. It is something you do to keep healthy. I ride a bike when ever I can, and I walk when it is within a mile or so. Of course, weather has a lot to do with it, but with gas at $1.99 a gallon right now, it isn't too hard to get to where I need to go. And then there is always public transportation - you know the bus.
Think of the search for mismarked items as an exercise in saving money in the long run, not the short run. I would rather find a $40 DVD for $10 after searching for a few days than pay the full price to save shoe leather or a little bit of a work out.
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!
I LOVE my Blu-Ray Disc Player!
Also this isn't something I do instead of something else. When ever I am in a Target or Wally World, or whatever, I take the few minutes to cruise through their DVD's and see if there are any hidden 'treasures'. I am already there, so I don't have to worry about wasting the gas or the exercise on my bike.
You just don't seem to understand what I have been saying. When ever you go to a store that also sells DVD's then you just take a few minutes and cruise through them to find any sales or mis-marks.

Well since I don't live in a suburban area, the closet target/mall is like 10-15 minutes away by car, with traffic. Plus, theres also this busy road I would have to ride next to. I'm also going to be backpacking up the White Mountains this weekend. I think I'm just going to ride my back around the neighborhood for now or walk the dog...

So it is not that far away. When I lived in my dorm, sometimes I had to walk 1 hour to get to Walmart (that was only 1 way).
Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith (widescreen of course!)
I went to get it yesterday and they had run out of widescreen. There were some people looking so confused and some actually settled for fullscreen.
I asked if there were any more widescreen and then others started asking and sure enough there was one more box with 30 copies!
You know how you see on TV when they bring out a box and everybody swarms? Well that happened and to my surprise there were about 20 of us who had been around waiting for this box.
I was lucky to get a copy. If I missed it I would have to go across the city to get a copy at the one day price.
-----------
I like that Wal-Mart sale! I found Johnny English widescreen for $4.88. Some guy tried tricking us to get his copy of Johnny English (which was FOOLscreen) saying, "Oh, here's another one" and handed it to us thinking we were gonna exchange. But I told him, "Thanks, but we'll stick to this copy." (with a smile, of course)

Geez I have met people like that but I thought there weren't many but recently I discovered that there are so many people out there who will stoop so low to better their own life in a minimal way.
An example from my life yesterday...
Where I work some change gets lost at the drive-thru window and well that's like tips for the people who work there. That's where it goes but apparently a manager from the A&P likes to come by at 3:30 in the morning and collect it. There is usually only fifty cents but I still see it as low especially since he seems like the kinda guy who doesn't need that money. He uses it towards his purchase so it's like a coupon for him I uppose.

Ugh, talk about greedy!
Speaking of which, today I went through the Jack in the Box Drive Thru (yea, MMP...my car & I went through the Drive thru) and I dropped my change on the floor, but the guy said it was fine and he'll get it later (after he counted my change to make sure I wasn't missing cents ).
Yeah, but now, since they don't know who the hell Zulu is, they'll have to take their time and see who it is and shift their eyes to the left, where they'll see Mutley, laughing away at them for not knowing that AHA Zulu is Escapay!

I'd love me some $1.99 gas too! Here in NJ it's down to about $2.14/$2.15, earlier in the week we were at $2.20, so I'm hoping by Thanksgiving it'll be down to $1.99 or less

That never happen to me when I go to the Burger King, Carl's Jr or In and Out Dive Thru but one time the person dropped my bag and soda by accident.
The Simpsons Season 11 Buy it Now!
Fox Sunday lineup:
8:00 The Simpsons
8:30 King of the Hill
9:00 Family Guy
9:30 American Dad
Revenge of the Sith - The insides are great, but the Israeli distribution company totally butchered the cover with horrid hebrew fonts, something that was non-existant in the past movies. Oh well...
Mickey Mouse in Living Color: Volume I - Yay, it came with a tin! I'll be taking it out and putting it on the shelf like any other DVD soon [the moment I stop exciting over the fact that I have tin ].
