Top 2, you say?
1940's: Easily
Fantasia and
Bambi, although
Dumbo is mighty close behind. I've actually been post-poning rewatching
Pinocchio until it's Platinum release this March, and I don't see the package films really taking away these choices.
1950's:
20,000 Leagues Under the Sea is my definite first, but ti's tough to come up with a second choice. I'll give
Sleeping Beauty my vote today, but on another day, I could of seen
Peter Pan take the other slot.
1960's:
Mary Poppins and
Pollyanna get my votes from this decade. I'd say this is around the time where the studio's live-action inputs became way more inventive than their animation department, although that's mainly due to the fact that there were only three(admittingly weaker) animated movies from the 60's, anyway.
1970's: Hard to say, but I'll have the
Witch Mountains share one position, and I'll have
Bedknobs and Broomsticks and
Pete's Dragon kung-fu fight to the death for the other. Not so big on the DACs from the era.
1980's:
The Great Mouse Detective for sure gets my first choice, and as for the other.... well,
Flight of the Navigator was fun nonetheless. At least the Nostalgia Critic seems to agree with me on that account. Maybe that or
The Black Cauldron will take my vote for my other choice.
1990's:
The Lion King is my first choice, me probably the one person on this site who would consider it to be his favorite DAC, and I think my other choice goes to
The Hunchback of Notre Dame. Come to me a couple of months ago, and this would of been
Aladdin's position, and
Beauty and the Beast improves after each reviewing, but
Hunchback, despite it's inaccuarcies to the original book, gets credit for it's more mature Disney storytelling and for having possibiy the studio's most engaging villain besides Maleficent, Judge Claude Frollo.
2000's:
Emperor's New Groove, for being the studio's funniest, and
Prince Caspian for being their most captivating modern blockbuster. Still mad at Disney for dropping thr franchise.
