I guess...I think this is specially funny because when we bought Mickey, Donald, Goofy The Three... I think we threw the slipcover away. If it wasn't that, it was something else but I distinctly remember throwing a slipcover away.Lazario wrote:Do they need them for some kind of slipcover garden they're cultivating?

Looking back on this thread, I realized something. Slipcovers really do control the world. I mean, look at the thread. It started out with someone asking whether to get Star Wars or Indiana Jones on DVD, and we managed somehow to change it into yet another slipcover thread. Those things control our minds, man!
I know I contributed to, if not started the slipcover discussion on this thread, but look how much we've all gotten into it. It's scary.

The next time I buy a DVD with a slipcover, I'm going to get out a camera- because you're not going to want to miss a beat. I'm going to throw the slipcover out the window and see if it can fly. Honestly, since I understand now that there are people who think they're some kind of miracle or something. Or maybe I'll boil it up in a pot of water and feed it to sick people, see if it can cure the common cold or something!

I highly doubt people get the slipcover because it "protects" the DVD. I'd leave that to the case. People only want them because they are sometimes shiny or open like a book. Plus, we're human. If we see something with less (movie with no slipcover) and something with more (movie with slipcover), most will choose the one with more.chaychay102royal wrote:They adore them because it makes the DVD look better and it protects the DVD. Although there's not much to look at. The Bambi slipcover looks just like the actual cover.

Those aren't normal occurrances in the life of a DVD.Lazario wrote:Can it protect the DVD from being flattened by a steamroller? Maybe they should start releasing them in tins like the Disney Treasures instead of the slipcovers. . . oh wait, that wouldn't work either.Lazario wrote:Can it protect the DVD from being flattened by a steamroller? I think Slip Covers are a total waste.
I also Love all 6 Movies, But I am a Star Wars Die Hard fan. So I would buy that one first, I have both sets though. If you look around you can get the Indy Trilogy pretty cheap. I got mine for 19 or 20 on sale at Cost-Co. Also keep a eye out for used copies. I bought the Star Wars trilogy at Blockbuster Video for my brother-in- Law for christmas for 20 bucks.

If they released the movies like the Disney Treasures, I can just hear the cries now...
"Forty bucks for the piece of crap called The Black Cauldron? Honestly, Disney!"
"I hate The Little Mermaid. I just like the box. It's shiny."
"Box Lovers Unite!"
"Isn't there a little too much covering the DVD? I mean, it's just a DVD! Sure it's a great movie, but..."
