Could you try to put a bit more into your posts than just stringing together a few words? It'd be appreciated since a single fragment doesn't make it clear what you're asking or what opinion you're expressing a lot of the time. Disneyland 50th Anniversary DVDs Press Release (July 12)
"Fifteen years from now, when people are talking about 3-D, they will talk about the business before 'Monsters vs. Aliens' and the business after 'Monsters vs. Aliens.' It's the line in the sand." - Greg Foster, IMAX chairman and president

I just noticed this "review" on Amazon for this DVD.... Sounds like someone has received an advanced copy or they work for Disney... Strange that this person has seen the DVD, considering how it has been supposedly delayed...
"This DVD includes incredible video and soundbites from the people whose hearts went into creating the park that Walt so loved. It is wonderful to hear the workers tell their stories, explain some of the magic at Disneyland, and share their experiences. You won't find Hollywood fluff in this DVD, but the heart and soul of Disneyland! If you are a Disneyland fanatic, you will love this DVD. If you love Disneyland history, you will cling to every word. If you have no idea of what Disneyland is truly about, you will when you have finished watching. This video will make you laugh, then cry, then smile again!".

Noticed that the reviewer is from Colorado and the DVD (or at least the documentary part) was reported as being produced by some agency in Colorado. Perhaps they saw it in stages of preparation for the DVD, which may well already be pressed by now.Tony wrote:I just noticed this "review" on Amazon for this DVD.... Interesting. I have to say it sounds unlikely, but we won't know for sure until the review copies are sent out. Luke will probably get those soon and then he can let us know if that one came out with it. We can still hope.

They came in on Tuesday and "Secrets" was not among the ranks. It has also been removed from the press release (as reflected in the updated first post). Nonetheless, it IS advertised with the other three in the insert. The delay definitely seems to have been a last-minute decision and I bet those who buy the other three and aren't fortunate enough to visit this site regularly will be scratching their heads and potentially trying to find this one. Wonder if some pressed copies will slip out here and there; probably not, but stranger things have happened.awallaceunc wrote:Interesting. I bought Mulan and Pirates of the Caribbean at Wal-Mart this week for $11.66. Today I go to HMV and the same movies were on for $10.99. I never thought HMV would sell them cheaper than Wal-Mart.

Disneyland 50th DVD Delayed Why?
Does anyone know the real reason as to why Disney delayed the 7/12 release of the "Disneyland Secrets" DVD? I have searched high and low and can't find any info. I can of course speculate like the "Sing Along Songs' portion is appearing on another release later this year and they don't want one killing sales from the other, but who knows? I was waiting so long for this release. I know the discs are probably sitting in a warehouse pressed, sealed and waiting for shipment!

The review in the link isn't very detailed, but I guess it doesn't have to be. I can't believe there's not one single extra on the disc except for the "famous" sneak peaks. I'm still deciding on whether to get this or not. I'm not a collector's tin collector because I don't think I would watch them more than a few times, so I figure I'd let somebody who would watch them over and over again have it. It would be nice to have this release, though. I'm pretty sure I'd watch these a lot since they're the first ones, and the coverart just looks so darn good, much better than some of Disney's previous coverarts.

I've seen only some of them since I unfortunately only have Mickey Mouse in B&W Volume 2. ANyhow, the ones they've included are some of the better ones from Volume 2 (Mickey's Steamroller is great and it possibly features Morty and Ferdie before they had names). I'm guessing they are the best of Mickey's B&W. They definitely aren't his first nine.Pasta67 wrote:I feel like such a n00b asking this, but for the Vintage Mickey DVD, are these his first nine cartoons, or just random ones picked?
I'm excited about the 50th Anniversary DVD and Vintage Mickey. I don't collect the collector's tins, so this will be a treat for me.
I was wondering...the delay for the Secrets...Disneyland DVD might be b/c of a last minute caught error and we're all benifiting by having it delayed. wedway99 has a good theory though. I just hope it's not very very long until we see it on shelves. Another thought...maybe they pulled it out of the original release due to such positive responses. Maybe Disney wants to take this opportunity to raise the price and sell it only at Disney parks? From the press release it seems like a VERY good DVD!

Aw, that's a disappointment. I was kind of hoping to have a little chronological set without having to buy the Treasure tins.
I'll still be getting this one if the UD review and the review from IGN is good.
