I'm single with no kids and I collect Disney animated movies (well, I do have nephews and nieces who might want to watch them, but mostly they also have a collection at their parents' home)
Disney is certainly not 'strictly for kids'. When Leonard Maltin, for instance, uses this expression in his Movie Guide you know he means that the movie isn't very good.
Good movies, like good books, can be enjoyed by all ages, regardless of the age of the target audience.
There are many movies aimed at adults that are very childish...
Are Disney Films only for children?

I would say its a mix bag of both. Of course, most of Disney's animated films aim for a general audience, and so did many of their live action films (till a few years ago) were aimed for everyone.
But, I feel that (live action) Disney as of late (basically, since Iger took over) have aimed their films for different groups, playing to a small demographic, with a lot of focus on the younger children, and in the process alienated the majority of people. Sure, Hannah Montana makes a ton of cash, but if the die hard fans like myself feel alienated, Disney's failing.
As for animation, it's all good, still (especially with Ed Catmull and John Lasseter in charge).
