How many Disney/Pixar movies have you seen in theaters?
The only Disney animated classics I've seen at the theaters are:
- The Lion King
- Mulan
Most of the other movies I've seen on VHS (Disney's older releases and the first four Pixar films), DVD (Finding Nemo) or on TV (Lilo & Stitch, Atlantis). But if Disney is up to re-releasing The Little Mermaid one more time in theaters (preferably IMAX), I will go see it before it comes back on DVD as a 2 disc Platinum Edition DVD. I love that movie so much I want to experience it on the biggest theater screen possible.

Pocahontas - 1995 release

Those are the release dates in Israel.

I have seen all the Disney "classics" animated films in their original theatrical release since Sleeping Beauty in 1959.
I have seen all the re-releases from 1957, so several films I have seen several times at the theater. Most films I saw at least twice during each theater run. The only exception is Home On The Range, which I still have no interest in seeing.
I have not seen the following at the theater due to those films were released prior to 1959 and were not re-released to the theaters:
Saludos Amigos
The Three Caballeros (I only saw the abridged version that was released in 1977)
Make Mine Music
Fun And Fancy Free
Melody Time
The Adventures Of Ichabod And Mr. Toad
There are some oddities in my theater viewing.
I saw the reissue of The Great Mouse Detective in 1992 when the title was temporarily changed to The Adventures Of The Great Mouse Detective.
I saw a "test re-release" of The Black Cauldron in January 1990 - my area near Portland, Oregon was one of 4 areas in the U.S.A. where the film was re-released under the temporary title of Taran And The Magic Cauldron. It lasted only about 3 weeks in the few theaters that carried it. It was replaced by The Little Mermaid in those theaters. One theater did keep it around for about 6 weeks. I have a TV commercial for that release where the magical and lighter scenes of the film were shown to advertise the re-release.
For several years in the late 1960s and early 1970s I was a movie projector operator for various theaters. I saw numerous movies during that time while showing them plus I got free passes to all the local theaters and saw numerous movies several times each during that time.

The very very first movie I ever saw in theaters was Aladdin, back in 1992. We loved it so much, we saw it four more times!
Then we saw Lion King when it came out in 1994. I remember it was a school night, and we got there late (I think we missed the 6:00 or 6:30 showing) which got Dad pissed off. So we went to the nearby mall, then showed up for the next showing, which I think was around 8:30 or so. It was the first time I remember ever staying up past 10 on a school night.
Not sure if this is the right order, movies I've seen in theaters:
Aladdin
Aladdin
Aladdin
Aladdin
Aladdin
The Lion King
Excess Baggage (what a waste!)
Mission: Impossible (saw this with my friends)
Toy Story
Antz (it was a choice between this or A Bug's Life)
Mulan (in California with my cousins during vacation)
Disney's The Kid (after this, my Aunt and Jane wanted all of us to sneak into X-Men, which just started in the next theater, but we were chicken)
Mission: Impossible 2 (saw with Dad and Jane, halfway through the picture suddenly got blurry and everyone complained, but it remained blurry throughout the rest of the picture)
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (saw it December 26, 2001)
Scooby Doo (We were originally going to see Lilo and Stitch, but we got there late and Kram got upset and didn't want to see a movie, but we convinced him to see Scooby Doo)
Signs
X2: X-Men United (my cousin brought me and my sister as a b-day present for me)
The Passion of the Christ (with my Bible Study Group)
The Passion of the Christ (with family)
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
Spider-Man 2

The very first animated Disney movie I saw in the theater was The Jungle Book back in 1967. I believe I saw the rest of the animated classics on T.V. back in the 60's

I think that I am among the lucky people my age who can remember seeing films like "Song of the South" in the theater. I saw in re-release as a chlld, "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs" and "Bambi".
As I got older in the 40s, I saw each of the Disney Animated films as they were released. I remember watching "Peter Pan" for the first time and some little kid actually climbed on the stage and jumped off trying to fly and hurt himself really bad. They stopped the movie and attended to him and then finished the film and all of us got passes good for free admission to the theater, and I think my sister and I used the pass the next day so we could watch "Pan" uninterrupted.

The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!

I really don't remember. I was only 2 and a half after all. I saw it as part of a special new years movie night for families. They had BatB, 101 Dalmatians and a non disney cartoon movie playing (I think it may have been Rock a Doodle, but don't quote me on that). I walked away from the night with a complete obsession with Dalmatians though, so I'm guessing 101 Dalmatians had a bigger effect on me than BatB.TonyWDA wrote:Realy?! Cool!
