I think it's better than the original DVD, but I'm not a huge fan of the movie itself. I love it's animation and music and the culture, but it just can't compare to the early 90's animated classics.

The new 2-DVD set itself, while put together nicely was just not worth the extra purchase to me. I bought it, expecting great things, but just ended up a little dissapointed by the transfer. Disney needs to figure out how to stop that color banding problem. It can become quite distracting in Tresure Planet and some other more recent films.

Don't get me wrong; it was a good set (except for that stupid slipcover which doesn't even open) It just could have been SOOO much better.

Let's down to business,
And describe "Mulan."
Where's my book-slip-cover,
When I wanted one?
It's next 2-Disc Set after "Al",
And you can bet before I'm through,
I will enjoy the second disc too.

(DVD)
I liked the transfer but it was lacking.
(DVD)
I liked the bonuses on Disc 1.
(DVD)
The deleted scenes were really awesome.
I'll be back with with more when I've watched all Disc 2.

Nick Lachey likes Asians.
So do his friends, man.
Stevie Wonder is blind.
Guess Raven is too.
She's the saddest star I've ever seen.
And you can bet she has no clue,
Mister, she has no talent for you.

But i have to say I am a bit dissapointed with the extras on how the movie was amde I was expecting a bit more something along the lins of Aladdin or Beauty in the beast I am nopt sure but everything it did have was great. And I love the Multireel of langaues that was great. And I also love the idea that the movie comes in 4 differenet languae tracks I think that rocks. 8) :D

I get my dvd last wednesday and i can';t hide that ima a little disapointed because the video transfer that have some problems of grain and color banding and the extras, that in my opinian, are boring and don't tell so much about the movie like the aladdin extras did.

What i really love in this dvd was the 7 music videos included in it and the audio comentary thata re very goood, one of the bests audio comentaries from disney dvds.

How on earth did I miss that? That was great!

Am I the only one who hasn't had problems with grain and color banding? I saw more problems on Aladdin than on Mulan's transfer. :?

I think I need my eyes checked because I never noticed these things! The only time I did was when they have the split screen and compare the bad and good versions and the obvious bad quality of One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band.

I just bought this yesterday on a whim and I'm glad I did. I don't own the Gold Collection edition so nyah. XD

Overall, I thought that the transfer was good... I did notice some color banding in certain parts of the film, and it was occasionally glaringly obvious (like when Khan and Mulan are breaking through the avalanche). It irks me a tiny bit, but nothing I can't live with.

The extras... hehe, I really enjoyed the film commentary (some bits made me crack up) and loved the "International Mulan" segment. It was interesting hearing all those Disney characters speak in different languages. The inclusion of the Mandarin language track is definitely a plus in my book and I watched it in that first (with the [English] captions for the hearing impaired, of course).

I didn't care much for the pop music videos included, though, and would much rather have traded them in for theatrical trailers.
Wherever. Whatever. Have a nice day.
