As soon as I get a digital camera I'm going to take a picture of mine.

Here is a picture of just my Disney stuff... I didn't take a picture of them just on the shelf because my Disney DVDs are integrated in with other studios. If you'd like to see a list of all of the DVDs I own you can do so here:MickeyMouseboy wrote:Sorry guys I havent gotten around to taking pics of mine but will on friday that i'm off!
Both of the Ub Iwerks DVDs have had price cuts; so at most online stores they'll be under $10. If you're seriously interested in the Ub Iwerks cartoons, the second volume is better (if you're more of a Warner Brothers fan), or if you're more of a Disney fan the first collection will probably be more to your liking. (This means that the second volume has more risque cartoons on it.Kram Nebuer wrote:Cool collection Dacp! You have a nice collection of old cartoons! I didn't even know the Ub Iwerks cartoons were on DVD.
I have all of the Muppet feature films on DVD except for "The Muppet Christmas Carol." Unfortunately this and "Muppet Treasure Island" are both pan-and-scan only DVDs, but in terms of features they're much better than the Muppet DVDs released by Columbia Tri-Star. You get a pretty good "behind-the-scenes" documentary and the audio commentary (there's also a sing-along, but that's not really what I look for in DVDsKram Nebuer wrote:I saw that you have Muppet Treasure Island. I'm not sure if I really want to get the DVD. What kind of bonuses are offered? I read somewhere that Gonzo and Rizzo do audio commentary for one of the Muppet movies.
That sounds great! Thanks for the info, Dacp! I saw it at Suncoast and was thinking of getting it as part of the 2 for $22 deal, but I got R&H Cinderella since I already have Muppets on video. I think I will get it now, next time we go to the mall. Also, weren't Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island distributed by Disney? Anyone know if they will be rereleased on DVD? If so, I'd rather wait to see if they'll release widescreen. If they do, I hope they keep the same features too!Dacp wrote:I have all of the Muppet feature films on DVD except for "The Muppet Christmas Carol." The audio commentary is by the director, Brian Henson, and it's actually pretty interesting. In case there's a dry spot where he doesn't say anything for a while (like, 30 seconds), Gonzo and Rizzo make a few short little jokes every once in a while. But the audio commentary is really by Brian Henson.
The best thing about the audio commentary is that every couple of scenes it stops the movie and shows you a cool little 2-minute or so bonus clip (they call it "Hidden Treasure"). Once the bonus clip is done it takes you back to the film.
Overall it's a pretty good DVD in terms of features, and I bought it for under $8 at Deep Discount DVD. Yeah, I would have very much preferred the widescreen version, but I couldn't resist the good bargain.
Disney released those two, and Columbia released the other four (Muppet Movie, Great Muppet Caper, Muppets Take Manhattan, and Muppets From Space). I don't think there are any plans for a special edition from Disney, but you never know. As far as widescreen versions go I believe either Treasure Island or Christmas Carol was released in widescreen in Australia. I think they were released in widescreen in the U.K. but those have scenes edited out or language censored or something. I'm not totally, 100% sure on that so maybe if somebody from the U.K. or Australia knows, that'd help...Kram Nebuer wrote:Also, weren't Muppet Christmas Carol and Muppet Treasure Island distributed by Disney? I think it was "The Love We Found." Why'd they delete it? I thought it was a good song.2099net wrote:Christmas Carol is still full-frame in the UK (and all over Europe, so I wouldn't be surprised if Australia was too). It has the "Where has the love gone" (? is that the correct title) song missing.
I certainly hope so. Disney is sure to get even more business from me! I also hope they release Muppets at Walt Disney World. It is what I am most desiring from them now that they have the rights (and always had the rights for WDW) for the Muppets. Here that BVHE? MUPPETS DVDs PLEASE!awallaceunc wrote:I wouldn't be surprised at all if 2005 and 2006 (maybe all in 2005) brings re-releases of all the Muppets movies (except possibly It's A Very Merry Muppet Christmas- did Disney get those rights, too?). Maybe not 2-Disc releases, but hopefully pretty good single discs in OAR, at the least.
