Again, the joker who said that is only lying because they have a personal vendetta against Toontown, Autopia, the Nemo Submarines and other things. Heck, those same fibbers already tried spreading lies about Autopia, Nemo, etc. getting scrapped for Star Wars-related things and they obviously did not happen, proving that they are not to be trusted.

In addition for the backstage facilities and services behind Toontown not moving off site due to having to stay on-site, I also must reiterate that Toontown is not only still popular (especially with kids, a big part of DL's bread-and-butter guest demographics), but is also landlocked and it has to close early every night for the fireworks, further proving that those liars are indeed liars. On the same token, ALL of Disneyland Park is landlocked and boxed-in now, so any new expansions like that are downright impossible.
Well, don't forget, those "liars" are the same people who hinted at most of the stuff that DID happen at the Disneyland Resort or IS happening right now. These include such things as Luigi's Flying Tires being closed and replaced, the additions of Frozen stuff (whether temporary, like the Frozen event at DCA, or more permanent, like the addition of Arendelle to Storybook Land), the transformation of Condor Flats into Grizzly Park Airfield, and even the return of the Hatbox Ghost to the Haunted Mansion. So not everything they say are lies. And I wouldn't say that expansion at Disneyland is impossible, just very difficult.
Those liars are still liars at the end of the day no matter what! They've been more wrong than right.

And they have made one too many outlandish stories over the years. For example: when Nemo when done for its long rehab last year, they said it would actually be closing permanently and that Disney was lying until Disney came out and said that it WAS just a rehab and would reopen later that year, calling out for MiceChat for their lying. They've also made up stories saying that Autopia and Innoventions would be razed for Star Wars additions and that story has since been proven to be bogus as well, along with their lies about more Monsters Inc. attractions being built in the Hollywoodland area of California Adventure.

Time to start discrediting MiceChat, buddy boy, due to all those bogus made-up stories and the fact Disneyland Park expansions ARE impossible in addition to being difficult, due to how landlocked it is.

I have no idea how reliable Screamscape (which at least admits is a rumor site) or even the LA Times are, but the article from that about Star Wars and Tom Staggs has been referenced on Screamscape:

Tom Staggs did seem to confirm that Star Wars attractions were still in the works for Disneyland, and that they would be added to the park in a new area, and not as a replacement attraction where some other beloved attraction would have to be removed. This seems to confirm the rumors that management had decided not to add more Star Wars attractions to Tomorrowland, but instead create an all new land for them elsewhere in the park. Such an expansion could displa[ce] some of the backstage area behind Toontown, or certain facilities which might need to be move[d] elsewhere.

(Just so you know, the original message on Screamscape said "display some of the backstage area" and not "displace". I'm pretty sure they mean "displace", which means "display" was a typo.)

As I said countless times before, I really want to see Toontown saved, which may or may not be the case if this article is to be believed.

On the other hand, however, though the article did mention likely needing to relocate backstage behind Toontown and/or elsewhere, I would think that it would be difficult, if not impossible, to do any kind of expansion back there without affecting Toontown in any way. Also, they did not take into account the issue of working around the fireworks. Some have speculated that the Star Wars area could be completely enclosed to remain open while the fireworks are on, but while theoretically doable, it doesn't seem likely.

It also brings up the question of what this means for Innoventions, which has been (partially) gutted.
