well I havent been to Epcot since the late 90's(or maybe early 2000's?) but I heard Horizons is now Mission Space, World of Motion is something called Test Track & Journey Into Imagination is some lame thing where you barely see Figment anymore.

the funny thing is I do think there's one attraction they should change: they really need to update the dinosaurs in Universe of Energy. Theyre way too old school looking, lol!

I agree, it sounds like minor stuff.

As for the fantasy land theatre, its change. Old shows go out and new ones come in. I loved the Disneyland production of Beauty and The Beast but it couldn't stay forever. You gotta be a bit more receptive to change TsWade and stop assuming the people at Disney do it because they hate this/that or the other. They are a company and they have to make money and they will find ways to do it.
Disney change things at the park to make it better - get rid of attractions that are old or not as popular and create new experiences that might not always be successful and you may not always like them but they have to happen. Sometimes you may not like something - it isn't the end of Disney as we know it.
Can we stop with the evil executives? They are people. They aren't villains from a Disney fantasy film. Sometimes you have to make unpopular decisions to keep a company running. That is their job and I'm not saying all their decisions are correct but I assume they do what they think is best, not about how many fans they can upset.
I understand the worry because you love Disney but you need to have a bit more human faith.
Well, believe it or not, Fantasyland Theatre is back with a new show just a year ago. And the Princess Fantasy Faire just move to the side of Sleeping Beauty's Castle.

By the way, here's a forum where people are bashing Jay Rasulo.

You can listen to the stockholder's meeting here:

Maybe they can give out some OFFICIAL juicy information about future movies?

Well, he made those pathetic campaigns like Year of Million Dreams and Celebrate. He destroyed Fantasyland Theatre for making it into a Princess Fantasy Faire which is now back as a theatre with a new show. He let the Disney Creative Entertainment to make a street party show called Celebrate Street Party which is not a parade. And never let the Magic Kingdom get a new parade. If he's elected as CEO, it'll be a disaster. Mark my words!
I happen to like the Street Party, and hope it stays for a long time. Where else can adults dance along with cartoon characters. :D And the Magic Kingdom did get a new parade, called the Festival of Fantasy Parade. I even started a thread about it in the Theme Parks Section here...

http://www.dvdizzy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=31529

I can understand not liking changes in the theme parks, as I hated it when they closed down Mr. Toad's Wild Ride (which my 2nd favorite ride of all-time), as well as changes to Haunted Mansion and Spaceship Earth. I miss the Sinister 11 at the start of the ride, with their eyes following you, which used to scare me as a kid.

Besides, they did bring back Captain EO at Epcot, and after watching it last year, I wish they didn't.

Because I think it's very dated, almost to the point of being embarrassed of watching it. And I know I was not alone, as I've had other guests tell me that they felt the same way. The effects were good back then, but now, just look so cheesy and outdated.

I am all for nostalgia, but some things need to stay in the past.

I got stuck at Disneyland Paris in the rain when Captain EO was back. Whilst it was kinda fun seeing it again after so long, I agree, so over the top and cheesy. I would love a new show but Disneyland Paris is hardly rolling in the moneys.
Settling Soul mates? That is grim. And I've played Monopoly alone.

Bob Igers planned resignation is about as potent as Miyazaki's retirement. :P

Anyone who cares about quality Disney products or the company's long-term sustainability should not be cheering about the possibility of Iger staying longer, or getting his first pick of successor.

He has no long term strategy for the company, because he thinks he's not going to be around it much longer. His only goals have been to cut "expenses" (like employee benefits and theme park offerings) and jack-up prices to maintain the absurd quarter-to-quarter margins that shareholders love so much. That and acquiring and selling off assets because it's easier than making stuff yourself.

Don't like poorly made, overpriced tentpoles that make no money, cheaply produced DVDs or paying more for the same park offerings? Guess who creates the corporate culture that encourages this kind of thinking is the best Disney can, and should do?

If there's one thing Iger has been good at, is throwing bones to the fan community (that his team thinks poorly of because of the losers they meet in person) to keep them quiet. "He brought back Oswald!" "He brought back hand-drawn features" "He made a club with a magazine that costs 4 times as much as it used to!".

Do you want the Disney that makes Cars 3 and Frozen 2 or is like what it was when Eisner was at his peak? If it's the latter, you won't get it with Iger, and you certainly will not get it with Jay.

WHAT? Why the hell does he have to stay as CEO? He doesn't care about hand drawn, Mickey Mouse....Oh wait! He does. Nevermind, he refused to re-release Song of the South ..even though I'm not obsessed about it anyway. and etc. All he cares is...Drum roll please! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKhg0LlzTjY

MONEY!

Disneyjedi is right. Not only he's a coward not doing hand drawn animation, he is a cheapskate. :glare:

For goodness sakes Wade, when are you going to calm down about this? You're acting like as if Iger has set out to destroy Disney Animation, when that has obviously not happend. Hand-drawn won't be used for a while, so what? Time will tell, it always does.

Just remember this: It took 30 years for Disney to do another fairy tale film after Sleeping Beauty. For 2-D animation, for all the interesting stuff that Paperman caused when it came out, I think it won't take decades for the medium to return.

Like we are saying over again: It WILL return when it's ready. (And yes, we are sure!) PATF & WTP failed, so sadly the first thing they blamed is 2D. So, the movies are now CGI. It's called BUSINESS. Iger is trying to do his job by doing what is best. And apparently, it's no 2D at WDAS.

And 2D doesn't come back, PLEASE move on with your life. You're seriously wasting time and emotions by dwelling over nothing. And NO OFFENSE (SERIOUSLY, I AM NOT SAYING THIS TO BE MEAN): If you really need to get help to help you, please get help.
