I don't see how this could possibly improve on the old Platinum.

With a 6-year difference? I'd say a lot.

Yeah, but how can they possibly top the Platinum's restoration job?

It's flawless.

So I'm guessing they could always use a smudge filter in photoshop to make it look all shiny and sexy. :)

I'm hoping Enigma can provide an example here. :P

Sounds familiar, no ?

It's too bad those dreams won't come true.

Would it really be that offensive to you ? I think you should wait to see what the 'new' transfer will look like if I'm honest. Then you can decide to get the new on or the 2008 version.

Thinking about it, the Alice Blu/DVD that was released to coincide with the Burton feature had no tie ins, other than being released to support it ?

I'd wait until next year to decide between this one and the 2008 one. One being that the 2008 will be cheaper on Ebay when this new one comes out, Two that maybe it won't have any tie ins and if it does, perhaps everything else will be intact.

I think for new features, there will be something about New Fantasyland - Dwarfs Wild Mine Ride ?

With Angelina hosting ... ? Maybe that would be too much, (and something I doubt she would do) but would make sense. Or they can crack out Ginnifer Godwin again.

Does anybody know when will we get a new trailer or possible covers for this re-release?

Usually each diamond edition includes the trailer for the next one. I just got the Jungle Book's Diamond Edition (released in Mexico this week) but the disc does not contain any trailers at all.

The US release of The Jungle Book on February will probably include the trailer. As for the cover-art, the Fall Diamond Editions' covers are usually revealed around March-April, along with their press-releases. That was the case for The Little Mermaid last year, and Cinderella the year before that.

Back in the day I was just beggining my collection I passed the blu-ray because it was a horrible release here in Brazil (single disc even though everything was relesead subtitled portuguese in the Canadian edition, no slipcover, etc) and an ridiculous price.
Plus, I never really liked the blu-ray cover (all that blue was really necessary? ew)
Will be a great addition.
I just hope we got the same transfer (can you imagine if they decide to release in the OAR? I wouldn't like it at all)

Wow to see Sleeping Beauty on the big screen must be a wonder to behold with the huge widescreen aspect ratio. The people who are going to the El Capitan are really lucky.

Whoa, that is awesome! Maybe this is a sneak peek at the cover artwork. If that's the case, I like it.

I think I just stepped into the Twilight Zone. Isn't the OAR what we always want with these films? :?
