That's a fair enough statement, but some of the Disney flicks have protagonists which really lacks a strong personality. Which Adult Hercules does, in my opinion, along with Jim Hawkins and Princess Aurora/Briar Rose.Disney's Divinity wrote:Criticizing a Disney film for having a bland protagonist is equivalent to criticizing them for having songs.
Hercules Blu-ray in 2013?

ugh, I really hate that people keep saying Aurora has no personality. She was blooming with excitement and charisma when we meet her in the forest. She has a lovely relationship with her forest critter friends, she shows us she's pretty switched on when her aunts whisk her away to pick some berries, and she's willing to take risks when she meets a stranger and devastated when she's taken away from him.
The fact she doesn't have any lines for the rest of the movie doesn't mean anything. She was either upset at her guardians, in utter shock and bewilderment, staring into her lover's eyes, in the presence of royalty or asleep. In each of those occasions silence is rather warranted.

I'm sorry, but that's how I feel about her.Victurtle wrote:ugh, I really hate that people keep saying Aurora has no personality. I really like Aurora, one of my favorite Disney princesses. I admire how content she is with her life in the forest (isn't yearning for something better, since she obviously doesn't know any different), and she doesn't even want to be a Princess at first. Her obligation is to herself and not to the responsibility of being a princess, her destiny, or anything like that. Kind of the opposite of Brave but I still think she is quite the badass.

Sorry for nitpicking, but have you actually seen the movie lately? She yearns about having a sweetheart in "I Wonder" and later on she's complaining about the fairies not wanting her to meet anybody. No offense.monorail91 wrote:I really like Aurora, one of my favorite Disney princesses. I'm not a huge fan of Aurora but I do hate it when people say that " All she did was just sleep " ! Hello did you watch the movie at all ? There where bits of her in the forest dreaming of falling in love with a handsome man because she's problery never felt that in her life ever, ever.
Plus it's not her fault that Maleficent hypnotized her to pick her finger in the wheel. It's like they aspect Aurora to steal Phillp's sword and fight Maleficent herself but having been hiding her whole life that wouldn't make sense, her being hidden and not knowing everything to life does make sense.
You can't aspect a girl that been in hiding her own life, barley being able to go outside to all of a sudden pick up a sword and know everything to fighting !

Everybody was speaking about Aurora and how people are calling her bland.Jules wrote:Enchanting thoughts. But you have the wrong thread.
Going back on topic though, I went to a DVD store today and there's still copies of the Hercules DVD for sale.
This worries me, because it means that it's had low sales.
