I concur. Unless it is a Disney Platinum/Diamond Edition I hardly ever watch the bonus features on a DVD or Blu-Ray.
Me too. When it comes to pixar, I just don't care.

Would any stores be offering a discount if you buy Cars 2 and the original Cars on blu-ray or Mater's Tall Tales? I decided recently that I wanted to pick up Mater's Tall Tales on blu-ray, but was going to hold off to see if there was going to be any kind of special offer. Usually I expect Best Buy to do stuff like that, but it seems they are running a $7 off deal if you get one of the Toy Story's in 3D instead. lame.

Didn't except the 3D combo back to drop below $29.99! Hopefully Amazon price matches.
They should match. Lately its been a $1 or $2 different from the weekly ads, but they had a better coupon so it should be cheaper (if you preordered when the coupon was available).

The DMR Coupon for the 5 disc combo pack is now live. Sadly, although not surprisingly, it's only for $5

That's ok. Best Buy is going to have the 5 disc for $24.99 ($19.99 w/coupon). :D

I miss the $10 coupons too, but I had a feeling they would eventually cut the coupon amount down with more people buying Blu-ray. $19.99 is a good price, but $14.99 would be better. :)

According to the "Great Big Toys R Us Book" I got in the mail today, prices are:

DVD Only - $19.99
Blu-ray + DVD Combo - $29.99
3D Blu-ray Combo - $34.99 ($29.99 with coupon)

The wall clock is free ($14.99 value) when you buy ANY Cars 2 movie (including the DVD only version).
The Lego Bonus disc is included in both the 3D and the regular combo packs (not the DVD only version).

Here are some pictures:

Image Cars 2 Wall Clock (TRU Link)

*If the prices are different in Sunday's Toys R Us ad (if they release one), I'll edit this post.* :)

In one year, Toys R Us went from being my go-to place for new Disney Blu-ray releases to one I'd never shop at. They used to be in close competition with Best Buy/Target; I got Beauty and the Beast for $12.99 and Fantasia for $16.99 there after coupon. I ended up getting Cars and The Incredibles there in April because Best Buy ran out of stock on release day and I had a gift card, but I can't see myself going back to shop their for movies anytime soon. :(

I've been pre-ordering with Amazon since The Fox and the Hound and for me it has been the best deal. Hopefully Amazon drops the Cars 2 3D price to $24.99. They had their own $7 coupon and I have a $5 gift card applied to the order. :)

Agreed. Toys R Us has gotten ridiculous. It's almost like they just do not want people to shop in their stores anymore. I remember when it seemed like they were actually in the running when people are deciding where to buy their movies, but lately it's just been like, "who cares?". Seriously though, $34.99?! Even with the coupon, it doesn't even come close to the price of other stores like Target and Best Buy. Well, it comes close, but to their prices before the coupon.

You're right, Amazon has really been stepping up their game. Lately they've been releasing better coupons than DMR and they price match really close (most of the time even the few dollars difference makes it cheaper than buying it in the store - when their coupon is applied).

On a side note: Wow, if Amazon does price match at $24.99, you're getting it for a steal! :D Here's hoping! *figers crossed*

*Edit*: It looks like Amazon has just price matched the 3D combo for $26.99. Not bad. :)

MJW: When will Cars 2 ship. That's the only reason I buy at a brick & mortar store. I want it in my hands now, and if I should get a defective one, I can take it back and have no problems.

Also you will find that I never, and I repeat NEVER, shop on-line for anything. I want it now, and not one day later or three weeks later. I had an Amazon gift card given to me, and I used it, and it took me almost three weeks to get what I ordered. And I felt completely ignored by my requests for help in the matter, and I have never gone back.

It doesn't seem like the DVD reviewers are appreciating this movie as well.

I remember you saying previously you don't shop online. My copy of Cars 2 is supposed to arrive on release day, so unless there is a delay I should have it the same time as everyone else.

I get Amazon gift cards on a frequent basis as part of an online rewards site. I'm getting Cars 2 3D for $14.99 after the $7 Amazon coupon and $5 gift card. For me, this is the best deal and I have no complaints about not having to stop at a B&M store on release day.

Shopping in stores frustrates me because 99% of the population seems to have lost the ability to be aware of their surroundings and trying to navigate my way through crowds of oblivious roadblocks isn't an enjoyable experience. That and the fact that I've had experiences with stores running out of stock by the time I'm able to get there after work.

New releases are supposed to arrive on the day of release. So they are shipped a few days before release. Quite often new releases that were ordered online will show up a day early.

And if it has been awhile since you dealt with Amazon, you should give it try again. As a student, I get Amazon Prime free, but next year I will gladly be paying the membership fee for it. Prime means you get free two-day shipping on any order. And by two days, they MEAN two days (with Sunday being an exception of course). If I ordered something on Monday, it is guaranteed that I will receive it on Wednesday. That's some pretty awesome service.

Even as a non-Prime member, if you choose to go with the free standard shipping (which is eligible on any order over $25) it usually arrives within a week to a week and a half.

Based on the issue you had, it sounds like you may have bought something from the Amazon Marketplace? Which is just like eBay, and I have had multiple issues dealing with people on there. But buying something straight from Amazon is usually pretty quick and painless.

I just started on SwagBucks and I'm almost halfway to getting my first Amazon gift card :)

And to Junkie, Amazon is actually really great; if you had only one problem, I really think you should use Amazon again. And no one really needs a new release on release day. If you do, then you might have a patience issue.

No problem, the site is really easy to use and it really works. I've gotten numerous Amazon gift cards with my "bucks" and I apply them to each Blu-ray pre-order I place on the site.

It depends on what shipping speed you use with Amazon. I have their Amazon Prime service right now, and I get everything in 2 days (free 2 day shipping, or $3.99 overnight). Preorders arrive on release day as well.

I had Winnie the Pooh preordered back in August with their $7 coupon. It shipped early Monday morning, and I had it by lunch on Tuesday for $17.99. I couldn't get it that cheap in store even with the DMR coupon.

Amazon is really a great site. The only item I have had that arrived damaged was a copy of Super Mario All Stars for the Wii last year. They were unable to send a replacement because it was a hard to find game and was sold out. Luckly I was able to go that afternoon and pickup a copy at Best Buy, and Amazon refunded my money. If you have a damaged item they usually send out a replacement, and then you return the defective one.

My Prime membership expires the end of the year, but with gas prices going up, etc... I'll probably renew it ($79 a year). Its worth it in my opinion... at least for me.
