Something I've been pondering: Does Pixar have enough shorts to give us a Volume 2 of their Pixar Short Films Collection?
I'd think they would now, with all the Cars shorts and such.
It's like Walt Disney Home Video went fishing!

Then there's going to be those lame recent things like Christmas Carol and Tinkerbell, probably that Sorcerer business if you really want to be technical

And if you count Marvel...

You should respect Walt's films, not his "fans."
I talk about Filmmaker Walt when I'm in a discussion about Walt material.merlinjones wrote:>>I'm well aware that Walt the Filmmaker is different from Walt Disney the Brand Name.<<
Can't tell from your posts.
I talk about Brand Name Walt when I'm in a discussion about post-Walt material.
If you can't tell the difference, maybe you need to work on that.
There's nothing else to pay attention to. It's like reyquila and his "I'm buying" posts. Might as well just have a robot post the same thing on daily intervals.merlinjones wrote:>>It's the people who only consider one over the other (often subtly insulting the company by never referring to them by name and only calling them "rights holders", lest Walt come down from Heaven and smite them ) that annoy me.<<
At least you are paying attention!

next year is the 50th anniversary of the Haley Mills Parent Trap movie so it'd be a great time to release a blu-ray version w/ all the features of the Vault version, for those who have no desire to buy the two movie collection with the made for tv sequel. But nothing has been announced.....
Disney Channel died when they stopped airing movies with Haley mills (Parent Trap and Pollyanna) and fun adventure movies like Swiss Family Robinson. R.I.P. the REAL Disney Channel. Date of Death: When the shows became teenie bopperish.

Good idea. The Vault Disney edition of "The Parent Trap!" was infinitely superior with great extras.
2011 is also the 50th anniversary of "One Hundred and One Dalmatians," "The Absent-Minded Professor," "Babes in Toyland," and "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color."
Of these, I'd most like to see a special edition of "Babes in Toyland" remastered with proper aspect ratio, plus these extras: a remaster of "Backstage Party" from the negative, "Title Makers," "The Truth About Mother Goose (maybe the TV episode version?)," trailers, "Babes at Disneyland" feature, "Disney Family Album: Annette Funicello," pre-production art and the original cast Buena Vista LP.
-- and of course a 50th Anniversary Box Set of "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color" - - at least a box set of all the Ludwig VonDrake and Ranger Woodlore "WWoC" episodes (but it would also be great to have a "Best of" with all the animated shows, plus "The Horsemasters," "Escapade in Florence," "The Prince and the Pauper," "Sammy the Way-Out Seal," "The Legend of the Boy and the Eagle" and more great unreleased shows we won't get otherwise.
