I don't see what "Up" and "Patf" have to do with eachother.
Other than that they are both movies.

These opposite styles and types of filmmaking have nothing to do with eachother and should never ever be compared.

Even though I love both movies, I chose The Princess and the Frog simply because I wanted to see it again. With Up, I felt it was really good, but I just didn't have the desire to watch it again really quickly. With TPatF, I've been aching to go to the theaters and see it over and over again.

you haven't even seen the film, and have an apparent dislike of Pixar.
Really? I wasn't aware I did. I considered it an apathetic, neutral feeling. Nice to know you have some special insight on me.
So, you are not going to be objective about it, at all.
You're right. Someone who said this: "However, I thought since the early stages that Up looked like a unique film because it centered on an elderly man. How many mainstream animated films have had an old character as the protagonist?" isn't objective at all.
So, you can roll your eyes all you want
I think I just might.

It's good for facial exercise anyway.

Hey, you started with me, by attacking what I said. I am just responding to what you said. My reply must have struck a nerve. Good!

Um, no. This is a poll, which has no relation to the Golden Globes. On top of that, it's only 3 votes ahead of "Up", and at any time, the results could change. Sorry!

Ummm...what part of "ULTIMATE DISNEYS GOLDEN GLOBE AWARD" dont you understand. Of COURSE this has no relation to the real Golden Globes.

Not that I would have been disappointed at all if Up had come ahead in this poll either because I love that movie as well. But considering many ppl who voted for Up didnt even SEE PATF (and therefor shouldnt have even voted in this poll at all) and the fact PATF is in the lead in the poll (and has been for most of the time) I think its safe to say the majority of UD's have spoken on who they think should win.

Oh, lighten "Up"! Besides, how do you know that the majority of people who saw "Up" didn't even see "The Princess and the Frog"? How do you know it's not the other way around? Also, who are you to say what the majority of UD members think? Huh? I didn't think so!

They are both good movies...lets not treat Up and PATF as if its a Twilight Saga of Team Edward and team Jacob rivalry

after all lets listen to the wise words of Smash Mouth via youtube

I love both of them a lot. Up was way more emotional for me and my second favorite Pixar movie behind Finding Nemo. Princess and the Frog brought back my love for real, traditional Disney without any CGI tricks. So I am going to analyze each aspect of the movies.

Story: I have to give this one to Up. Princess and the Frog had a great story but it wasn't that original. As far as I know Up is completely original not based off anything. Up was also very dramatic and makes you feel the main character's pain in the beginning.

Songs: I know this is really unfair but I always look forward to Disney songs. This point definitely goes to Princess and the Frog because it actually had songs to contend with. I don't remember one song in Up and there were seven in Princess and the Frog. Princess and the Frog also had two songs I know are in my top 20 which is really exclusive which are Dig a Little Deeper, and Friends on the Other Side.

Characters: I have to give another point to Princess and the Frog on this one. Tiana is my favorite princess because she is strong willed and always works hard. I know Prince Naveen is the best prince so far. He is a spoiled brat who never had to do anything. Ray,Louis, and Charolette are great sidekicks to are main characters. Up's characters were mostly animal but Carl is a likable character. He is kind of a typical old person though so not much different. Russel is a pretty good sidekick as are Doug who are both great comic relief but they aren't as good as Princess and the Frog's characters.

Villain: I always love villains. I am addicted to villains and they are almost always my favorite characters. Charles Muntz is one of my least favorite villains. He is blandly uninteresting and not fun to watch at all. The point goes to Princess and the Frog wins this one hands down. Dr. Facilier is a great villain. He is sinister but comical a deadly combo. He also has a great song in Friends on the Other Side.

Visuals: This one goes to Up hands down definitely. Up is in 3D which makes a little bit more realistic. I love hand drawn animation and Princess and the Frog was beautiful but Up not only has realism but landscape. The landscape for Up is based of Venezuela and they capture it perfectly. It has a beautiful jungle and city life. Up takes visuals to a new level.

Overall Princess and the Frog win with 3 points opposed to Up's two.

Pshaw! That rivalry pales in comparison to the well-known battle that is "Traditional Animation versus Computer-Generated Animation".

Yeah...thats True....but that rivalry is less messy compared to Blu Ray VS DVD but thats a whole another version of Pandora's Box... :P

but if I may get serious for a moment.....honestly I really don't think you can compare the two to each other.....they are totaly polar opposites and great movies in each way that makes them...the way they are......and each one of them is good whether one or the other gets an award or not....and just because one of them gets an award and the other doesnt does not by any means in my book make the one that doesn't win does not mean its a bad movie....I mean its not like if Up wins people are not going to say PATF sucks or something like it didn't win its terrible or if PATF wins people are not going to stop liking UP...honestly...now if somone said Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs was going to beat up and PATF i'd have to pull out a face palm image somehow on here.....

Can't we agree they are both deserving movies and whichever one gets it doesn't mean the other one is crap....and dare I say.....what happens if they neither win and some other Animated Film wins and its not Up or PATF.....then at least I guess we can unite and bash the film that won the Golden Globe over Up and PATF if that happens and we can send disgruntled letters to the Golden Globes :P

Awards are really just reflective of the collective thoughts of people at the time and not always indicative that the winner is better than the others anyway. After all, Crash won Best Picture at the Oscars.

The Princess and the Frog, by a landslide. Up didn't do anything for me.

IMO, Up was a superior movie to Princess and the Frog.

Princess and the Frog was great, but not close to flawless. Compared to Up, the story and all around character development was weak.

Up spent far more time getting us to feel for and understand ALL the characters, were as PatF left us wanting more, because we were given so little.

UP was actually better than what I expected it to be but TPATF takes the cake!

Honestly, I somehow knew that UP would win the Animation Golden Globe. :P

But at least TPatF got a nomination. Let us be thankful for that. :)

I knew "Up" would win because it was, well, a better movie. Kudos to it.
