I have taken a fancy to it and have been checking its price status over the year. As of now, it is down to $44.99 from $89.95. Obviously, it is still way over the Secret Santa price limit, but I thought in case I (or Kelvin) have a Secret Santa this year who likes to spend a lot of money, it might be something worth noting.
Oh, wow, you remembered! I, too, have been waiting for the price to drop (preferrably to the 30 buck range), but if my Secret Santa's reading this and wants to go over the limit for me, that clock will do nicely. The same goes for Renata's Secret Santa, too, of course! :D

Dear Santa,

Here's a link to my wish list at Amazon. This is my general wishlist that I keep through out the year, so skip over the more expensive items (unless you are really generous  ). I don't mind surprises, so feel free to ignore the entire list.

Greetings, Secret Santa dude! (or dudette ;) )

How have you been? Are you enjoying the holiday season thus far? I hope all your Christmas wishes come true during this always-wonderful season. :)

This is my first year participating in Secret Santa, and I'm rather excited about it.

So to my Secret Santa, I want to say a preemptive thank you and let you know a few things I've had my eyes on and things in general that I'm interested in.

I'm still working on building my Disney animated classics DVD collection. A few notable missing titles include The Sword in the Stone, Oliver & Company, Mulan, The Aristocats, Tarzan, Dinosaur, The Emperor's New Groove, Chicken Little, and Meet the Robinsons. I am also missing Bedknobs & Broomsticks.

Other DVDs I'd like include Parks & Recreation S1, Andy Barker PI, Jackie Brown, Citizen Kane, The Guild DVDs, Dr. Horrible, and The Muppets Take Manhattan.

As for other things, I would love The Gremlins by Roald Dahl or The Incredibles soundtrack.

Wishful thinking would be items such as the Wall-e Hallmark keepsake ornament from last year, the Mr. Incredible DCC statue that was until a few months ago available through Disney Movie Rewards, and a few Treasures sets (Donald Vol.2, Disney on the Front Lines).

I also love surprises. I like Disney animation and I love Pixar (I own all their movies but little else related). My favorite Pixar titles are Ratatouille, Wall-e, The Incredibles, and Toy Story films. I'm a burgeoning fan of Uncle Scrooge comics as well.

I love DC comics, most sci-fi (all things Whedon, Star Wars, Star Trek: TOS, Battlestar '03, Lost, etc.) I've recently finally gotten in Doctor Who and am loving it! I have nothing from this fandom. I am hoping to be caught up in time to see the specials in December. I'm going to miss Tennant. You'll always remember your first Doctor (I saw a few of his episodes before going back to Eccleston and watching in order). Basically, I'm a big geek and proud of it.

Happy holidays everyone!

Dear Secret Santa,

So today is the "official" beginning of the Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa/Festivus/Politically-Correct-"Holiday" season and to celebrate, we took all our Christmas boxes out of the basement. Well, not all the boxes. We left a few down there because they contained ornaments and other decorations that we don't use anymore. Which is sad, really. I mean, yeah, some of the stuff in the boxes is tacky, but there is a lot of sentimentality in those ornaments. Like an old toy train set that I got when I was 2, and the Liberty Falls buildings/accessories/people for the Christmas Village we used to set up about 10 years ago. But I guess we just outgrow some of the Christmas decor over the years. I wonder what decorations we won't use ten years from now.

Anyway, the reason I'm writing this letter is because I feel really guilty. I made a long ass letter with lots of UD-supportive links, and didn't even say "thank you" like several other letters that followed did. So, let me just offer my "thank you" now. Because I really am grateful that you're doing this. UD Secret Santa has been a tradition since 2003, and I've been a part of it since 2005. It's amazing that there is such an amount of trust and goodwill among a little messageboard on the internet. It's even more amazing that Secret Santa has been so successful for so long. You help make Secret Santa successful, you help in keeping the tradition alive. And that's a wonderful thing. Christmas - or Kwanzaa or Hanukkah or Festivus or Bobunk or whatever holiday you choose to celebrate - is a holiday that's deeply steeped in tradition. It's a comfort always to know that as up or down a year can be, one of the things we can always count on is the joy that is Christmas (or Kwanzza or Hanukkah or etc.). So, once again, thank you. Not just for whatever gift you'll be sending to the Scaps house. But thank you for being a part of this tradition, and thank you for being an all-around great UD member. Whether you're new and it's your first Secret Santa, or a veteran of the program, or someone who hasn't posted a lot but always comes back for this wonderful holiday season, thank you.

Anyway, there's more to this letter (!) beyond an update on the Christmas preparations and the thank you. Just a minor note, a really minor one. You see, last year my family (well, the East Coast side) started doing Secret Santa last year and it's now become a Christmas tradition. And on my Secret Santa list for my family I hastily wrote Under the Greenwood Tree (DVD) on one of the wishlists that went into the hat. I obviously don't know who got my name in the drawing, and Under the Greenwood Tree was the only "item" that was the same on my UD wishlist as it was on the Family Wishlist. So I just wanted to give you a heads up that if you were considering sending it to Jersey, to not do so. Of course, I can't even guarantee that I'll get it from a family member either, but I'd rather not get it at all than get two copies come December 25. :P

Finally, just wanted to add a recommendation. I just finished the book A Simple Christmas by Mike Huckabee. In it, he reflects on several memorable Christmases he spent throughout his life and how they all, in retrospect, are the "simple Christmas" that he enjoys. Sure, he sneaks in some of his political views and makes a couple jabs at the current regime, but his purpose in the novel is not to spread his political agenda, it's to reminisce about how various Christmases helped him shape his life. Whether you're Democrat, Republican, Libertarian, Independent, or Apathetic, you'll enjoy the book. It's always fun reading about Christmas memories, be it your own or a strangers. Because Christmas is almost always a common bond we all share, so even if some of the situations don't happen to us, we can identify already with the fact that it's about Christmas.

Dear Secret Santa,

I don't know why I'm so worried, but I hope I have given you a long enough list to choose from. But I would like to say, whatever you get me I will be very happy with! I'm open to anything. I already have all of the new Disney rereleases The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. I already got all the Pixar films on blu-ray. I will upgrade my Harry Potter to blu-rays eventually, but I would also love the Prisoner of Azkaban blu-ray already out just because that's my favorite. I think everyone here knows I want to work for Pixar. I also love David Archuleta's new Christmas album. But really, whatever you decide or have decided to give me will be enough for me! :) I'm a simple guy who lives to make others laugh. So really, anything will do! Just do it asap because I am really anxious to know who you are. :D

Question: Even though the rules say that we must not send our presents before December 7, can we send our presents this week? I ask because my budget is very limited, and I have other things to take care of. The sooner I send this the better.

You probably should also edit your post (and add other revisions) so that your Secret Santa isn't required to read through this entire thread to know what you want.

I'm not sure I understand how the timing and your budget are related, but if you need to send early, go for it. With December just two days away and Christmas decorations and music everywhere, I don't think it's offbase. That said, everyone is still encouraged to send out in their recommended window, ideally in the middle of it.
Matt wrote:Who hasn't posted a list yet? Also, when is the list due by? thanks!
Everyone should have posted a wish list by now. I don't think everyone has, but I haven't gone through the list and this thread to check. If you are doing Secret Santa and haven't posted a wish list or some basic information about your likes here... please do so here.

Thought about editing my post, but I was too lazy to.

I've done that now, but only because it was the logical choice. NOT because anyone brought it up.
