1. This list doesn't reflects what Disney says
3. List includes every feature produced on Original Disney studio including Victory through Air power since it manages to have its majority of runtime in animation.
4. List includes every feature produced on ToonDisney Studio/Disney Television, Tochdown Pictures.
5. List dont include stop-motion as I have never consider stop-motion as animation or at least not cartoon.
6. List dont includes films that compines animation and live-action if the runtime of animation is lower 75% of runtime, (with expectation of Roger Rabbit and the package films).
7. I managed some how to consider Daug not as Disney movie. :D
8. No films that haven't finished the productions are on this list.

WHAT? Where did you hear that?? :o
It says so on the leaflet that came with the stickers in the Dutch dvd's. See also BelleGirl's list, although she forgot to mention that Beauty and the Beast IS a Diamond Classic. But TLM (and Alice in Wonderland and Aladdin) has been ditched, according to that list.

No, we're not talking about this. I'll scan and upload pictures tomorrow (that is, tomorrow for me, don't know what time it'll be in the US).

Margos wrote:I agree. Besides, "Enchanted" was a wonderful, delightful film. I've never seen "The Wild," but I was told by a friend that it's basically an inferior reversal of DreamWorks' "Madagascar." If something can be called inferior to anything that DreamWorks has done, then it certainly shouldn't be considered a part of the Disney cannon.
I don't think either film should be on the list, but well said!

This is the french 2001 Snow White dvd cover. It has the nº1.

France lists 97 "Great Classics" (grand classiques). Here's the list: http://www.lesgrandsclassiques.new.fr/ (click the link 'List Complete')

They list almost every disney movie as you can see:

http://www.jaquette.ch/images/jaquette- ... custom.jpg Song of the South is nº 9

http://www.covers-qualite.com/_covers/7987.jpg The Return of Jafar is nº 39

Portugal and Spain list 50, with Bolt being the last entry:

http://images2.coveralia.com/dvd/b/Bolt-Caratula.jpg
That is wrong on so many levels! I think I don't really get how different Disney is over seas.

Thanks! I don't think "Enchanted" belongs on the list either, because it is basically a live-action film. It belongs on a seperate list with "The Reluctant Dragon," VTAP, SotS, So Dear, Poppins, B&B, "Pete's Dragon," and Roger Rabbit. At least, that's where it is in my DVD collection.... (well, minus Reluctant Dragon and SotS, anyway :( )

Um, if you can't watch a movie without becoming extremely anal-retentive about how it fits into a canon, maybe you shouldn't even be on UD, Albert.

I tried, Brenders! Believe me, I tried! I mean, I engaged in various discussions about it on UD, tried opening up to the idea of The Wild being included because the UK includes it, and I even made my own personal canon list. But as is often the case, "my own personal" anything by anyone gets shot down immediately because it's not Officially Official with Officialness from Disney.

So instead, I consulted various Disney books, I watched all the trailers that mention "The (number)th Animated Classic", why, I even e-mailed every possible branch of Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment, called up Bob Iger to hear the current official standing, visited the DVD-authoring plants, went to my library to check old newspapers and magazines, hacked into the Walt Disney Company mainframe to check their secret list, and then finally traveled back in time to ask Walt himself!!

And every source I went to and every discussion I had and every list I made all ended up just being a lot of different ideas for THE LIST without any genuine "OKAY!!! Here is THE LIST, now everyone just SHUT UP!!!" from anywhere!

I'm sorry, but all of it is just driving me crazy! I don't want to put movies on a list that arbitrarily means NOTHING at all! I don't want to say that Pete's Dragon shouldn't be on a list because it's primarily live-action! I don't want to say that DuckTales: Treasures of the Lost Lamp should be included because it's a damn good film! I just want to watch my movies and enjoy them! Why can't I watch my movies and enjoy them? Why do I have to put them on a LIST? WHY DOES ANYONE? I'M SO MAD I COULD BLANCHE!!!

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/MqCg1cgEpVQ&hl ... ram><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/MqCg1cgEpVQ&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

*calms down*

You're right, Brends. I'm not anal-retentive enough about THE LIST. Maybe I shouldn't be on UD. I mean, all that work I did to find out what THE LIST is made me hate it even more!

LOL! That made my day! While THE LIST is a big deal to me (and has since childhood) of course there are other things that matter more. But I'd rather engage in a semi-serious conversion about something as unimportant as this then some heavy, most likely highly political discussion about whatever!

But yes, it can be silly, I'd be the first to say so! :D

This looks the same as my first Snow White dvd, except for the language and the diamond with number inside on the case. The recently released dvd has a number in a square on the bottom, and also of course a different illustration .

Yes I would also like to see this leaflet thanks, I will be severely annoyed if The Little Mermaid has been ditched from the Diamond Line, although I don't understand what reasoning Disney would have behind doing such a thing :(

Ohh, but have you forgotten? This is the same Disney that ditched Aladdin from the Diamond Line... still, I don't see how they would ditch TLM, but you never know. :D

And I too would like to get a peek at the 'leaflet' if you get a chance!
Thanks!

both TLM and Aladdin deserve to be part of the diamond collection. who knows maybe they will add them back in. that's what happened in the platinum editions for some of the titles that originally weren't supposed to be part of it.

Albert, just... just leave. Come back when you feel like numbering something, then getting into a fight about it.

Also, you have "Something" at #26, when I really think that "Something" should be in that slot.

I'm terribly sorry for the delay, but I couldn't find the time yesterday. So here it is, as promised:

Leaflet:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v719/ ... ection.jpg

Inside, the stickers:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v719/ ... tionII.jpg

At the backside of the leaflet, you can see a little diamond-icon behind all titles which will be Diamond Editions. No icon behind TLM.
