Instead of doing anything productive like grocery shopping or preparing the last lesson for my CCD class before the students start Confirmation practice, I spent most of the day watching Hallmark Channel's "Love Comes Softly" marathon which started at 9. Since Saturday is the only day I can sleep in, I woke up at 1 pm and joined the marathon in the third film, Love's Long Journey, so the next ten hours were spent in the company of Missie, Willie, Jeff, Colette, Belinda, Drew, and of course, Marty and Clark.
Anyway, for anyone interested, the movies in the "Love Comes Softly" series are:
Love Comes Softly (2003)
Love's Enduring Promise (2004)
Love's Long Journey (2005) - my favourite in the series.
Love's Abiding Joy (2006)
Love's Unending Legacy (2007)
Love's Unfolding Dream (2007)
Love Takes Wing (2009)
Love Finds A Home (2009) - this movie actually doesn't premiere until next week, and is the final one in the series.

I watched that too, the movie was average but it was the 3D that made me really want to see it, and it didn't disappoint.ajmrowland wrote:I just saw Monsters vs Aliens in 3D. The movie was good; not a particularly memorable film, but funny. The 3D was also good, but the 3D of the midway section is forgettable. I think I'm more interested in gimmicky 3D than the more natural stuff this film has.

Since last weekend I saw...
Monsters vs Aliens (3D) (Not a Shark Tale but not a Kung Fu Panda....a 'meh' film mostly. Also Roger Ebert was right this was the first Digital 3-D film where the 3-D was distracting to me.)
Race to Witch Mountain (I need to see this again.
)
Casino Royale (1954) (Mostly it was pretty darn bad but Peter Lorre)
Dr. No (Awesome!)
From Russia with Love (some pacing problems but very nice.)
Goldfinger (Also very good but surprisingly I prefer Dr. No)
I Love You, Man (Very funny but not Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I identified with Paul Rudd's character to an almost creepy degree.
)
I Could Never Be Your Woman (Cute. Michelle Pfeiffer and Paul Rudd look great and greater together.)

Since my "Love Comes Softly" marathon on Saturday, I've watched the following...
Hercules (1997) - every bit as good as I remembered it. It's not really that high up on my list of favourite Disney films (it's a mid-level film for me), but whenever I watch it, I thoroughly enjoy it. Last time I watched it was Summer of 2006 with some CP's, so I was due for another viewing.
Love's Enduring Promise (2004) - I still prefer Love's Long Journey, though it's always nice to see how Missie and Willie get together. A part of me wishes that January Jones continued in the role of Missie in the rest of the films instead of just doing one, but Erin Cottrell did a great job too.
Under the Greenwood Tree (2005) - I had rented the DVD before I got sick, and almost fittingly, rented it again after I got better. Both times I felt it was rather odd seeing Keeley Hawes in a period piece, I know her more for "Spooks" and "Ashes to Ashes". Even odder was seeing Ben Miles (who I mainly know from "Coupling" as Patrick) as a priest. Yet seeing James Murray ("Primeval", though I'm sure he's done other things) as working-class Dick Dewy wasn't as odd, though. Maybe because he looks like he fits right in to any time period, whereas the other two really seem like more contemporary actors.
When Harry Met Sally (1989) - as always, I made sure to stop it before they make the biggest mistake of their lives and the whole movie.
A Room With A View (1986) - god, I love this film. I don't know why I still don't own the DVD yet. Helena Bonham Carter is so young in this, sometimes I can't believe it's actually her.

For your second point, I agree, but think it's weird that 6 years later in Howards End she does (even a year later in Maurice she does more than she did in Room).
