One question though, you liked Grease 2 after you got the fever, right?
Please pray for Escapay

Hey there Escapay! I don't know exactly what to write, because it seems that you've been through a bit of a harrowing time this past month or so.
Obviously, this really sucks, especially since you've got tubes and stuff stuck in your body (obviously you can tell that I wouldn't like anybody sticking such things in me
). Obviously in the long run there's not much that I can do (Munich is a bit far away from New Jersey
), but I do wish that you get better and that problems like this don't pop up again. And don't think that you're vain for writing a note like that (firstly, it just isn't and secondly, it's worth getting out).
As for those "25 random things" on Facebook (which are really kinda useless yet addictive...a bit like Facebook itself
), nobody close enough at this moment in time has done them, so I don't ever get tagged. Oh, I can hear Celine Dion's windpipes blowing...

Bleh, hospital stays are so not fun to deal with, but you know that from experience. Sounds scary actually, but it's a relief to know that things got figured out and that you've gotten through it ok . . . Grease 2 and all.
I imagine the writing was a good outlet for you and it made for an interesting read. I had a really bad infection throughout February myself (don't ask) and had trouble sitting up for any length of time. Luckily it wasn't bad enough to go to the hospital over (I went to urgent care for the exact same thing last year so luckily I knew what it was this time around), but it meant that I missed out on cashing in on my free birthday ticket to Disneyland, lol.
Anyway, continue to get better, the place isn't the same around here without ya.

I know, I think the mashed potatoes was the worst casualty of the whole thing. I love them to death, but after eating hospital mashed potatoes, I can't bring myself to eat the good stuff for awhile.Ames wrote:I'm glad that you're somewhat up and about! It sucks that you have to have tubes and fanny packs and no mashed potatoes for a long time
I can picture it now: "Hey, remember the time I got a fever that turned out to be a strep infection on my liver and I needed to have draining tubes in me for like a month?"Ames wrote:but you'll pull through it and will have a story to tell for years to come.
Not only was it after I already had a fever, but I'm pretty sure I was feverish (like 102/103) when I was watching it. Something about having a fever makes young Michelle Pfeiffer look so much hotter than one would expect. Thankfully I dozed off during the dreadful "Turn Back the Hands of Time" song, but woke up just in time for the fakey Hawaiian luau.Wire Hanger wrote:One question though, you liked Grease 2 after you got the fever, right?
Wondy, I'm just glad that you've posted! I haven't seen much of you (pre-break) so I'm glad to know you're still around, even if you're not in jolly olde England anymore.Wondy Jarvis wrote:Hey there Escapay! From what I've heard via e-mails and chats, the place didn't change at all. Restorations are still not accurate, Princess and the Frog is still controversial, and people are still buying DVDs, while some are being particularly vitriolic towards Blu-Ray.Sunset Wing wrote:Anyway, continue to get better, the place isn't the same around here without ya.
Thanks.Dottie wrote:I have to say I was worried about you. I think we all were.
Strangely enough, I really wasn't that worried about the sickness (though I probably should have been). I was more worried about the school time I missed and that my student insurance was pretty much eaten up by this (but I won't discuss the financial situation, as that's personal).
Here's an update, Jules:Jules wrote:Do we have any updates on Scaps
The #$^@$@#% tubes still are in me but should come out on the 30th if I'm lucky. However, I can now sleep in two positions as it doesn't hurt as much when I lean on my left side now. So, sleeping on my back or sleeping on my left side...yay. I miss sleeping on my stomach.
The IV will remain in me until after Easter. It's so much fun, especially as putting on anything with a left sleeve takes me an extra 30 seconds. And the best part of all is I've now gotten used to the noise it makes when it pumps my penicillin. I sometimes go to sleep to it, it's become that soothing.
I spent my spring break catching up on school work and watching TV with the siblings. Well, more of the latter than of the former, but I did catch up.
I'm posting on UD again, though I did seriously think about extending my break another couple weeks just for kicks.
Soupy gave me a nice new slave tunic that doesn't clash with my IV pouch. But he took away my midnight snacks for the next two weeks because I forgot to put a second coat of wax on his car.
I haven't bought a DVD since February 11, and I gave up buying DVDs for Lent, so I still don't have Pinocchio: Platinum Edition or "Doctor Who: The Key to Time": Special Edition.

No, but some of the Blu-Rays I want include DVDs, so I'd effectively be buying a DVD without realising it. And "Doctor Who" is not yet on Blu-Ray.Soup at Hand wrote:You gave up buying DVDS...but did you give up on buying Blu Rays
Plus, I kinda need a Blu-Ray player first. Care to send one down the NJ turnpike to Exit 3?
Hehe. That's what you get for reviewing for UD.Joe Wondy wrote:Even though thou shalt not mention mon nom de famille (wah-ha-ha...Escapay wrote:Wondy, I'm just glad that you've posted! Lol. For some reason I was just picturing like, a video of UD threads where each post is pictured for like 15 seconds, and there's a running audio commentary.Sunset Wings on the Enigma Girl wrote:Perhaps, but we're missing out on your commentaries on it all!

(I'd add more but it's quite late and I need to sleep. Plus, everyone knows that sentence would end with "heroine" as I feel she really is just a MacGuffin in her own movie.)
