Netty, read what you said, and all I have to say is my book for the restoration that first began in 1992 (that came with the 1995 VHS and laser disc) said it was backed up by extensive research and discussions with the original artists "to respect and protect the integrity of the original masterpiece" and it look "as pristine as the day it premiered". Meanwhile, 2005's new technologies was said to make the film "sparkle like never before!" And I also remember stuff about "beyond it's original brillaince". There'a a big difference here, that sounds like the new restoration made the film look "newer" and different than how it was before. Not closer to the original.

And Beauty and the Beast needs fixing pronto. I do believe Disney has made corporate puppets. I also believe that even if they are happy with the way the film looks changed, they should make the original available in the highest quality releases for their fans, like Lucas, only even better and more respectful to the viewers. Maybe more limited "collector's" releases, but still available.
Yeah, I totally agree.

Well it's nice to see that the majority of people agree with me!

I think there's only... 2 people who don't? "You can never please everybody", so I'd say I'm doing quite well 8)

Just out of curiosity, I'm going to take screenshots of the before/after for the other PEs (Funny, Cinderella didn't have one... maybe because people would know it's gonna suck :P ) and compare it to the PE vs. the older release or VHS.

I don't own a copy of Cinderella on VHS, so I can't really compare any color changes made to the film, but I think people saying that the restoration for the platinum edition "sucks" is kind of a big over-reaction. The picture quality is amazing on it. I think it looks great.

Nope,2008.
Cinderella is the Princess line's icon but I think she might get replaced by Aurora for a while.
And Cinderella has a VERY similar personality like Aurora.

It sucks compared to the VHS. The colors look fine by themself, but compared to every other version available they're way off. There was a thread that had screenshots but I don't know where it is offhand... I can take some of the 1995 VHS and 1995 laserdisc, but that won't be for a while.

Way to change the subject!

I'm not talking about the characters... I'm talking about the restoration of the DVDs!

What's funny is that Pru is doing it just to be cheeky, but I think Sprince is taking it seriously.

Still, That's Our Brendan got it right. Sleeping Beauty IS the new pink...blue...pink...etc.

...I am so glad I have a nickname. And even better, a nickname that points out my bitter remarks. God bless you all.

...that wasn't sarcasm either. That was for realsies.
