But I suppose your are only jesting, Chernabog :P
Yup just jesting. However there could be some logic in marketing villains towards boys, I mean how many girls actually care about villains or would choose them over the princess merchandise?
And how many boys care about villains like Ursula, Captain Hook, Jafar and Gaston? I believe they would not 'choose them over' the princesses, but not at all. Villains are only good for role-playing, which girls enjoy as much as boys. Villains are nothing without heroes and heroins to fight them.

I care about the villains, I'm pretty sure other UD members do as well, Disney Villain and Lord of Sith perhaps to name a couple.

Speaking from my experience, back when I was a kid I was always the villain and interested in them. Guy friends of mine were as well, while our girl friends were more interested in the girly characters. Perhaps back then it was more black and white in our minds, but now it's merged to become a shady grey area not just black and white anymore.

When I wrote that boys would not 'care about' villains I meant it in the sense that they wouldn't feel some kind of affection/sympathy for them as girls might feel for the princesses. That they would rather 'care about' the heroes! Sorry I wasn't clear about that.

Though not keen on "villain merchandise", I'm naturally interested in Disney villains as movie characters , as most of the UDers are. 8)

I still don't see why girls should be less interested in Disney villains than boys (especially since we have the Evil queen, Malificent, and Cruella de Vil to name but a few - but they don't count as 'girly characters' I presume?) but maybe that's because I was not an average girl - I mean I liked girly toys, but I was never interested in the typical girly thing 'all girls love': the barbie doll.

"I was always the villain"you wrote: but does that not imply someone else was the hero, thus role-playing? Did you ever play the villainess?

Btw, I apologize if this is the wrong thread to post this, but there are dozens of other Disney Princess threads and I didn't want to create another one.

Great post!!!

I thought the Belle and Jasmine ones were great!

Didn't like the Ariel one, though. :(

Oh wow, those are great, especially the Aurora one. The thing with the Ariel is that the other girls still look beautiful and she just looks dead; Flounder looks awesome though

To go back to the original intentions of this topic, does anybody know what's going on with the website recently? It seems that it has been very slow to materialize. For the longest time, you could only play the charm bracelet game for Cinderella, Aurora, and Ariel. It seemed to take about two weeks before you could play another game to earn a new charm. I assumed that the wait was caused by Disney simply not having the site up in time and being slow to fully initiate all of the games and princesses.

Well, a friend of mine got an account and upon signing in, they were only allowed to play one game for each active princess when I was allowed to play 5. Afterwards more games didn't appear for their account for several days and when they did, it was just one for each of the three active princesses.

Yesterday, I noticed that the site was down for about an hour and when it came back, Snow White and Belle have now been brought in front of the clouds that cover the princesses who's games you can't play yet. I take that to mean that in the next couple of weeks, you will be able to play games for those two additional princesses.

My problem is that nowhere on the site does it list that you can only play once for each princess every X number of days, so why is it that different accounts have different levels of access to the site? Has anybody here been able to complete the bracelets for any of the princesses?

The website is working properly again. You can now play the introductory games for Snow White, Jasmine, and Belle.

Snow White's voice sounds odd, as if the actress had a stuffy nose when she did the recordings. They should have gotten the actress who does her voice for the theme park shows. This girl doesn't really sound like her. I was surprised that the dresses for Snow White were all very much in the style of the 30's. I thought that was neat.

Jasmine sounds like the same voice actress from the film. One of Jasmine's dresses is peacock inspired, which extends to her segment of the one (and only) volume of Enchanted Tales.

Belle's voice doesn't sound like Page O'Hara, but it could just be that her voice has matured to a point where she can't sound like Belle anymore.

If you go back and read the whole topic, you will find that plenty of guys signed up. You don't have to sign up to play, but if you want to save the games you've played, you should. Your disney.com account login is what you use.

The odd thing is that Disney only expects girls to play, so it takes your first name and adds "Princess" in front of it automatically. It would have been nice if they had asked your gender so that "Prince" was an option for guys.

The website in general won't appeal to most guys since most of the games involve decorating and playing a virtual paper doll game.

To say that Disney Princess is only for little girls is offending. They are classic characters and works of art.

I'm a 19 year old guy, and I joined this site within hours of it going live. I love the princesses, and to interact with them online is truly fun. Sure the games are simple and meant for children, but I enjoy the site. It is very cool that the princesses are animated and feature voices that are on par to the originals.

I am a huge character voices fan, so I took it upon myself to find out who was providing the voices for each of the princesses. If you use Firefox as your web browser, and have the add-on "download helper", you can view and download all the media files on the site. I took the liberty of downloading as much as I could. You can download them Here. It's just 3 second voice clips, but it lets you hear the voices.

I keep records of all the different Princess voices Disney has used throughout the years on their consumer products. I'm just not sure who is doing Snow White's voice, and Disney does not have Pocahontas voice anywhere on the site, so I couldn't tell.

Snow White- unknown
Cinderella- Jennifer Hale
Aurora- Jennifer Hale
Ariel- Jodi Benson
Belle- Paige O' Hara
Jasmine- Linda Larkin
Pocahontas- unknown
Mulan- Ming Na

I'm not sure why, but Jasmine's game has been removed. It now says "coming soon." I was wondering why her game was added when her character on the main page wasn't put in front of the clouds. I wonder if she will return soon?

Glad to see you!!!!!!

From what I remember, Snow White sounded a bit like Carolyn Gardner to me, but I'm not so sure...

Do you have any news of Enchanted Tales?

I was thinking that they said that The Princess and the Frog had to be the "return to hand-drawn animation". So maybe the delay of the next volumes of Enchanted Tales is because of this. Maybe next year we will have the second volume...

Hey! Thank you, it's good to see you too!

Yea, Snow White does sound like Carolyn Gardner, but I'm still not 100% sure. I'm going to listen to few more clips. I think the best Snow White voice is Melissa Disney. Disney uses her on the new Princess CD's and merchandise. Unfortunately it's not her providing Snow White's voice on the site.

I wonder who is going to provide Pocahontas' voice. Pocahontas does not speak on any Disney Consumer Products, and on the new Princess CD's Judy Kuhn (her original singing voice) provides the vocals. We haven't heard Pocahontas speak since her film. A few years ago on 'Disney Princess Sing-A-Long songs Volume 3: Perfectly Princess', each princess read a letter. The actress providing Pocahontas' voice sounded nothing like her. I wonder who Disney will use for the site.

Unfortunately Disney has not said anything about future volumes of 'Enchanted Tales'. I have literally e-mailed every friggen division of Disney and I've been told the funniest things, like the second volume was released, or them trying to sell me the 'Princess Stories' DVD's. Some people at Disney had no clue 'Enchanted Tales; even existed. I honestly think the series has been canceled.

Is Melissa Disney any relation to the members of the Disney family associated with the founding of the company?

Not so long ago, I wrote down the credits of some DVDs and I have the 'Disney Princess Sing-A-Long songs Volume 3: Perfectly Princess' Credits:
Irene Bedard ~ Pocahontas
Jodi Benson ~ Ariel
Carolyn Gardner ~ Snow White
Jennifer Hale ~ Cinderella
Linda Larkin ~ Jasmine
Ming Na ~ Mulan
Paige O´Hara ~ Belle
Tara Strong ~ Melody
Hynden Walch ~ Alice
So I'm afraid that even not sounding like 10 years ago, Pocahontas still has her original vocie.
